This home has a great layout, but it is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Especially on the inside. Some members of our group had trouble breathing upstairs due to the mold/ dust/mildew. I’m not sure that this place has been more than broom swept in about 20 years. Clearly used to be a very nice place, but it needs to be updated in several areas. Outside pool area was nice, but also needs to be cleaned. Could be a great place to stay if the entire inside was deep cleaned.

The rental process was easy and office was friendly, helpful and overall wonderful!! I would say that the price was fair for the amazing experiences we had *outside* the house and over a holiday weekend. There was lots of light and space and bathrooms, which was wonderful for our crew. We truly enjoyed every moment of sunshine and the pool and spa area. I read the reviews so I thought I had a general idea, but.. This location is in need of some serious repair by owners or it will not be serviceable for long. It’s a large, older home with what appear to be current leaks and/or previously unrepaired damage to ceilings and walls (we never saw any water/wet areas. Carpeting and other items throughout need deep cleaning or replacement. I don’t know if these issues are on the owner to address. Dishwasher was full when we arrived but other than that, overall light housekeeping appeared to have all been done. I contacted the office regarding the condition of carpeting and a urine-like smell and they quickly offered to remedy the situation with some further housekeeping the next day but we decided we’d live with it since it was a last minute Labor Day booking and I knew nothing was likely available with a completely private pool (our selling point). We did enjoy our time there but I would only recommend if you’re fully aware of what you’re getting when you book this location.

We were disappointed with the condition of the home though. It was very dirty and several surfaces and items (dishes, end tables and lamps, drawer in party room was stuffed with trash, etc.) had to be cleaned before we could use them. The ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom did not work and the fireplace lighting was "flaky" (We kept them off since we did not want to chance a fire!) Also, I'm not a fan of the "bring your own (or rent) linens" policy.... It's a vacation and we are paying for housekeeping.

The pool/hot tub is well maintained by a pool contractor. Easy access to the ocean/beach. The house both inside and outside needs a through cleaning and organization. The pantry, cabinets, closets, vanities were all cluttered with items not needed; making some unusable for us. The floors and carpets all need to be cleaned. The toilet back in the sunroom was not flushing (the one we would have used from the pool). Some of the electrical outlets were not working; including the upstairs master overhead light, fan and lamp on nightstand. The pool area and furniture could use a good pressure wash. A little elbow grease and this place could be awesome.

We were on Jekyll Island for a photo shoot, and this property was conveniently located to everything!

Nice spot on the island Terrific backyard with pool and hot tub. Would stay there again.

The house is very out of date, but relatively clean. Everything from the stove to the mattresses to the decor has not been updated since the early 1980's. The pool and hot tub are the best in the neighborhood. If you want a private pool outside, this is the place to be. The hot tub allows you to enjoy the water even when the weather gets cool.

Wonderful stay!! The house was so spacious we could’ve fit two more families in there (and we were already three families at a 13 people maximum capacity). Especially loved the sunroom and the pool and jacuzzi were without a doubt one of the best parts (and both had lights for the late night swims). The location was exceptionally amazing everything was a 5 min drive away and there was a beach 2 minutes down the road walking. Really loved the home and hope to come again on my next visit to Jekyll Island!! Definitely a 10/10!!

We had another great year staying on Jekyll Island. We absolutely love it here. We actually got married this year here on glory beach and plan to return year after year thank you so much Jekyll Island!!!

We had a great time, though the house is rented as having two kitchens there was no water to the bar sink and the ice maker was covered in some green powder. So really just the one kitchen. The house needs some Tlc inside and out. The bathroom in the Jekyll room has a pocket door it needs to be fixed as it sticks if you close it and try to open it. The pool and hot tub were a great treat for our grandkids. The only issues there were we couldnt get any heat to the hot tub and when we called were told it was fine and all was as it should be, thank goodness someone in our group remembered when we had the same issues several years ago when we rented this house and were able to get it a little warmer. The pool bottom was covered with leaves and talking to the people Saturday night they told us the vacuum was fine. But we had to clean the pool ourselves and the vacuum only worked occasionally and the skimmer hardly worked at all we kept having to clean the top and bottom several times a day. Overall a GT

We are very happy with this house as it suits our needs and is very comfortable.
We had an incident on the back deck. When people sat on the 2 picnic tables, they both broke. The wood on the benches was rotten. this was dangerous and should have been taken care of.
Other minor comments; the BBQ burners could do with a clean or be replaced.
The kitchen faucet was lose in its housing, so we had to be very careful. This needs attention.
The carpet could do with a clean.
All other equipment was functional. We are very happy with this house and it suits our needs. We have rented Jekyll Hyde Away for many years and also booked for next year.

This large house has so many wonderful things like the large enclosed sunny patio, 5 bedrooms and lots of bathrooms - great for large families. It has 2 kitchens, a wonderful large pool and hot tub - a grille that had gas directly to the Grille. The Property Management Company was super nice and responsive. - but then so many things that were not OK. The pool filter was clogged with dead leaves it stressed the motor out and was loud. (we cleaned out the filter) Towel racks falling off the walls when you dried your hands. Old patio furniture, ceiling fans that didn't work, the outside of the house and windows were so dirty. The back deck was clearly in need of updating and repair. Beds were not that great. You can tell that this house use to be the most amazing place. Just needs some TLC and some updates and it would be just a perfect place.

The landscaping , roof /roofline could use some attention . On the inside there were no suprises ( the pictures online are accurate ) The interior is as clean as can be expected with a rental property . Main Kitchen could use a little upgrade , but is functional . The Bedrooms are as pictured , however the AC and the ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom are not functioning . Outside, the Swimming Pool and Hotub /jacuzzi ? are a Fabulous asset to the property , however the wooden deck areas are in need of some TLC , loose boards and screws are DANGEROUS !! We had a great Vacation and enjoyed our stay and are in discussion about returning to Jekyll Hydeaway. With a little TLC from the owners , this would become a definite Go To Getaway for our group ! Also , a nice quiet location, depending on who might be renting next to you , but easily accessible to all the island has to offer on bicycle, Redbug or car .

After 2 rounds of golf a day, it's very welcoming. The house is clean and in a great location. The only problem was that there was no gas for the BBQ and Jacuzzi when we arrived, but the management company resolved the issue on the Monday, but it did impact our initial few day. Overall I would recommend this house.
