Beautiful home right on the ocean with plenty of room for the two parents and 3 teenagers.

house was clean and totally fit our needs. The bbq was nasty so didn't use it. Could use some personal flotation devices and a couple paddle boards . Only seen 1 cockroach which is awesome considering the country. Named him Harry. We will rent this house again next year!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Chachalaca. The place was clean and well-maintained. Our only small complaints are the dryer and dishwasher. The dryer took about 4 cycles on high to. Implore a load. There must be an element out. The dishwasher was not anchored to anything so when you opened the door it would fall out. Otherwise, it was a truly blissful week. I’ve never felt so little stress.

Our family of 6 just returned from Casa Chachalaca, and we had a great time! The house is perfect for families with 4 bedrooms, a large living room, and it's own pool. It's close to many great restaurants and a large grocery store. The house could use a little TLC in a few areas. The dishwasher never worked for us (it didn't turn on), the drinking water system leaked one night, and there were a few little things (light in the master shower was burned out, etc). And I'd echo what earlier reviews mentioned that the outdoor furniture leaves a LOT to be desired. There are 2 plastic lounge chairs on the beach, and a few wood chairs on the patio (2 had broken parts), but the hammock in the photos wasn't there (we purchased one ourselves there). Given that people want to spend most of their time outdoors while there, Vacasa could invest a little in their outdoor seating/gathering options. Overall we really liked the house, but you can tell that it's a rental and not someone's private home.

House was excellent apart from the bed which were a bit average. Very spacious, clean and all necessary kitchen utensils were available. Very Happy with overall accommodations.

the view and access to the beach was the best. It would be nice if the beach is cleaned daily as, sadly too much trash pollution ... no fault of the owners.

We wrapped up our Placencia vacation with four nights at Casa Chachalaca. The pictures on line do not do the home and the views justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the privacy. The only negative was the lack of outdoor seating to take relax on.

We were visiting at the start of the Coronavirus outbreak in the US, so travel was starting to slow and the Peninsula was fairly quiet. Beaches and restaurants were pretty sparse which was amazing for us.
The house is beautiful and well equipped. Beds were small, but were OK. Would recommend taking your own pillows though. The pool is very small, but fine for soaking. We were not sure it was properly chlorinated as we could not smell any chemical and the water was murky, so we mostly stayed out of it.
We had noticed many comments about the outdoor seating options being very limited and uncomfortable. That is the one thing we would also change about the home. It has an amazingly beautiful view, and comfortable and plentiful seating would definitely enhance the outdoor experience. There are a couple of small wooden chairs that are pretty uncomfortable and hard to get in and out of and two plastic chairs that are both broken in several places, so outdoor seating is pretty limited.
Other than that, the place is wonderful. Vero was extremely helpful to us in scheduling flights and tours and making sure everything was great at the house. It is right next door to the Green Parrot resort and we spent quite a lot of time there because we had a friend staying their. Their food is wonderful and their staff is amazing. Leo was extremely helpful to us with a variety of things.
Definitely recommend a stay here!

Very nice place to stay. Great beach except for the garbage that gets washed up in the tide seems to collect on the beach and not get picked up. Pool was nice, but not sure it gets chemical added on a regular basis as it did not smell clean and chlorinated. House is lovely and has everything you need. Beds are all full size, so a bit small and would suggest taking your own pillows. Outdoor space is truly beautiful and could only be made better by more comfortable outdoor seating. Chairs provided are uncomfortable and in very poor condition. Green Parrot next door was amazing. Helpful and kind staff. Leo is wonderful and provided us a ton of help and advice!

Home is well equipped on the beach with a pool. It is in a excellent location close to restaurants and a grocery store.

Casa Chachalaca is a beautiful home in a perfect location. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet with great ac and WiFi. We rented a golf cart, but would probably rent a car next time. It was within walking distance of markets, and restaurants. You could snorkel and swim right from the beach in front, but also had fun taking the canoe to False Caye where we found beautiful coral off the tip of the island. Leo, from the Green Parrot next door, was very helpful in setting up tours and a taxi. We did the Monkey River tour and a private snorkeling tour and would highly recommend both! We hope to return someday, and would definitely rent this vacation home!

The house and location were great. It was very clean. The pool was amazing in the mornings to heat the Belizean heat. Some decent restaurants in walking distance. Placencia was a 15 minute drive. Our young kids really enjoyed the pool and beach. My only complaint is the chairs for sitting outside weren’t very comfortable. But we loved our stay here and would definitely stay again!
