It is a small house perfect for two couples. It had all the necessary supplies and the view of the ocean is spectacular! We stepped right out the door,crossed the street and we were on the beach. Thanks!

Property was exactly as advertised. All amenities were included and clean. Road was a bit more busy then we thought it would be, but people watching was fun. The only thing we’d say could use an upgrade was the king size bed. Otherwise it was perfect 👍🏽

Ken is great, always responds quickly and accommodates the best he can. My family loves this home.

Our stay at the Beach House house made special memories in the books. I am a single mother of 3 and this proved to be the perfect spot for us. We didn't really leave besides the beach and walked a short distance for fish and chips. Everything we needed was at the house. Thank you for such a fun atmosphere for me and my kids! We did go to Legoland one day which was a 10 minute drive. Really appreciated letting us use all the beach gear😊

Well equipped property in great location! Backyard patio was awesome for cookouts, long driveway provided ample guest parking and watching people and dogs walk by was lots of fun! Grandkids loved the ping-pong table, and playing in the sleep shed! Good chance you’ll hear from us again!!

It was everything I had hoped for. The kids and I had such a great time. The fenced yard made it nice to feel safe having kids outside, the outdoor shower made coming back from the beach a breeze. The home is so charming and has such a great happy feel. Thank you! If I were to give one complaint or suggestion it would be that the hot water comes out REALLY hot. This was a bit of a concern with little kids. Maybe a warning would be nice or turn down the water heater a bit. But besides that everything was perfect! Can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay. The location and community is outstanding. Went to the beach every day, which is just across the street, to get our feet wet. There was an amazing outdoor shower in the backyard. We rented bikes and rode around Carlsbad village, where all shops and restaurants were open. We had happy hour every night in the front yard watching the sunset. Very cozy beach family home. Will definitely come back for our next trip.

Peaceful sleep to the sound of the surf with the moonlight! Whales and dolphins in the distance, beach right across the street. Cute little bedroom in the back yard with an outdoor shower. An original beach cottage with vintage charm and within walking distance to downtown Carlsbad. Everything we hoped for in a family vacation!

This property was fantastic. The owners were very nice. Great place to rent for families. Overall we were very pleased. Will come back again!

We had a wonderful week in Carlsbad. The house is 100% as advertised. Beachy, cozy, inviting, and extremely well-stocked. The location is perfection. The owners were responsive and extremely pleasant. Thank you for a memorable vacation! We will return!

Wonderful accommodations especially for a family with little children. The hosts respond quickly and provide everything you need( like high chair or pack n play). There’s plenty of dishware and pots/pans, WiFi, beach supplies, and toys. The space is older but still very clean. Also you can’t beat the location where the beach access is literally across the street. The only cons is the noise from the street and the poor insulation as it is an older house. It can get pretty warm with the afternoon sun. Lastly, I’d say the only other thing I’d change is to have blackout curtains. The morning sun can wake up the kids pretty early! Otherwise, great stay and little getaway vacation!

We really enjoyed our our week. With the cottage being right across from the beach we could just walk over anytime ( and we did that a lot). Didn’t have to look for parking. There was a place to park the rental car off the street at the cottage. There was plenty of room to eat around the table and visit in the living room. We spent a lot of time on the small enclosed front porch it was cozy. It was somewhat noisy from the traffic that was constant even throughout the night. The area in the back yard was nice but still a little cold to eat at the picnic table. The bedrooms were ok. The bathrooms were not close to the bedrooms so that was inconvenient when 2 couples are staying together. We were disappointed with the grills. There was a charcoal and a gas grill. On both of them the grates were rusted and unusable. On one of them there was still food inside. So we bought disposable pans to cook on the grill. I didn’t realize we had to clean, strip the beds and start the laundry but that might have been my fault. I don’t remember reading that anywhere on the ad about your property but it could have been there. I read so many different ones it was hard to keep them all straight. It wasn’t a big deal. Overall we had a very good time.

Love this home, because it is a home....lots of charming windows, we spent a lot of time on the front porch...people watching in the morning and sunsets in the evening. The location is incredibly convenient for walks into the village for shopping, happy hour and dinners. The view to the beach and ocean is outstanding, thank you for sharing!

This wonderful beach house is ideally located along the ocean and within walking distance to Carlsbad Village. The village area is quaint, nice shops and restaurants. The home is cozy, plenty of room with two nicely appointed bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen and an enclosed porch for relaxation facing a beautiful ocean view. The backyard is private, has nice lighting and a garage (we stored our bikes in here.) Owners communicate quickly and instructions were easy to follow. Our stay went without a hitch. I would stay here again!

We had wonderful ocean views and stunning sunsets from the front yard. This house is so close to the beach--you can hop across the street to get to the beach any time you want. The back yard is tranquil and pretty with evening tree lights. We also had fun playing pool in the garage at night. It was a nice walk to our favorite cafes in the village. Jan and John, Tempe AZ

I have visited quite a few southern places in the states, the Caribbean and overseas. Carlsbad California is the best place I have ever been. Super friendly people everywhere. This house is right across the PCH from the beach and ocean so it is literally a 5 second walk to the beach. Perfect beach as well. Not overcrowded but always enough people to make it interesting. The house itself is amazing, lots of activities to do for children and adults. I have been to this house 6 times now over the past 10 years. I keep going back because like i said, it is the best place i have ever been. It doesn`t hurt that the weather is always perfect, never too hot, never too cold and absollutely no bugs at all :)

First thing is the long driveway is fantastic. You do not have to drive up and down the streets trying to find a place to park. The house is only 1300 sq ft but it feels so much bigger. Rooms are all good size, Kitchen is really big and the dining room table looks right out to the ocean and you are able to watch the amazing sunsets from either the dining table, the sun room or the front lawn. The bungalow in the back is a perfect spare bedroom and the pool table was a blast in the garage. We have been coming to San Diego for 18 years and have stayed from Del Mar to Carlsbad and this was the most charming house we have stayed. The owner, Ken, was fantastic to work with as well. We will be coming back if he will have us.

We made many wonderful & sweet memories during our stay.. Our boys can’t wait to go back again, and I feel the same. Totally impressed with property owners hospitality.

We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this place. The location couldn't be any better and the house was PERFECT for our family. The backyard area, with grass and a basketball hoop, were a hit. The house had everything anyone could have wanted for convenience. (shower gel in the outside shower, ziplocs in the kitchen, beach chairs and toys, etc.) The house is older and full of charm, which I loved, and well maintained with tons of character.

Loved this little beach house in Carlsbad. Right across the street from the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and town. It is on 101 so can be a bit busy during the day, but bedrooms are in rear and was pretty quiet in the evenings. There's a small sitting room in the front, a great place for sitting in the morning and drinking coffee. Everything you need is provided, even games and toys! Great backyard, too. I wish we had more time to sit in the back and enjoy it.

We loved staying at this house for our family getaway. Whether you are outside in front of the house, or relaxing in the front porch, the sunsets over the ocean are amazing to watch. The backyard is a blissful area and the owners have all of the equipment you need for the beach and backyard games. The owners are very quick to respond and the house and location are a dream!

We love older homes filled with character and warmth, so comfortable. The well stocked kitchen was perfect for us since we cooked or grilled most of our meals! And we really appreciated all the beach toys/supplies - and game room was fun. Thank you so much! We will definitely want to return.

My brothers, sisters and I wanted to get away for a few days for our spring break and we were very fortunate to have come across this house. Janice & Rich are so adorable, sweet and welcoming. The house itself is so cozy and really does feel like home. The location is perfect - the beach is less than a 5 minute walk and the downtown shops are less than ten minutes away. Carlsbad has some super cool, unique shops and restaurants. Our favorite lunch spot, that Rich suggested, was the Pizza Port. We went for ice cream two nights in a row at SubZero which is very close walking distance to the house. We made so many amazing memories and are already looking at our schedules to see when we can come back (and we just got back yesterday!)

My family really enjoyed staying at this quaint little house. The owners were sweet. The house was well equipped. My kids loved the toys they found plus enjoyed playing in the back yard. The proximity to the beach was perfect! I loved being able to listen to the ocean every evening. We are definitely looking into this house again if we come back to Carlsbad.

We have been very fortunate to be able to stay at this wonderful litttle beach house several times in the last couples of years. We are looking forward to our next visit in January 2012 for my 60th birthday. I had the greatest experience growing up in Carlsbad and remember many beach parties at the house. It is heartwarming that the house has managed to remain with the family for so many years! Janice and Rich always make us feel welcome. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!
