We loved our stay and the separate guest house for my married son and his wife was perfect for their privacy when wanted and the large house held us all each night as we played games and relaxed together. The house is about 30 min to the end of the island where shops and the pier is if you are going on a water excursion, but also super easy for us to do our inland activities. We went zip lining in the jungle, floated the river, hiked some Mayan ruins, rode ATV,s and visited the only jaguar preserve in the world. Carmen gave us all the details would could need and more and was very helpful. We would definitely visit again!

This is the place to stay if you are visiting Placencia! The house was very clean and had everything you could possibly need for a family vacation from towels, to pots and pans, to snorkel gear, fishing gear, and even a small boat. The property was beautiful and very well maintained. The dock and palapa were immensely enjoyed by the adults and children throughout our stay. The owner was just a phone call away and even arranged a snorkeling/fishing guide for us one day. I can’t imagine why you would want to stay anywhere else. 😀

Let me try to describe how thrilled we all were with this property! Two couples, long time friends, fabulous vacations. We pull up and the house is gorgeous, inside and out. The sand from the guest house to the palapa had been raked. What a nice touch! The house had everything we wanted, needed and more. The guest house was great too. We slept there and let our friends have the main house master bedroom. But where we spent most of our time, and made most of our memories was down at the palapa. We brought the house Bose down with us, hooked it us to our phone and sang and danced and read and drank Lynne's fabulous rum punch. We got to meet the caretaker, Elsworth, a couple times. He raked the sand again and even took out our trash one morning. What a really nice guy. If I ever go back to Belize (yes please!) I will definitely stay at Carmen's again. He was a great host and even checked in on us to see how everything was going.

This home far exceeded my expectations. It is a beautiful property on a beautiful private beach and the Owner goes out of his way to make the stay awesome.

Our host, Carmen, thought of everything. His house is well appointed, tastefully decorated and includes everything one would expect. Just like being home. The palapa at the end of the dock was the highlight of our relaxing vacation. Great location. Good restaurants nearby.

Carmen's beach house is amazing! Beautiful, comfy and welcoming. Not only is the home's section of beach private, we barely saw anyone else all along the visible shoreline It was amazing to relax out on the palapa. I had hoped for better snorkeling there, but it was mostly grassy with a few jellyfish. There is some coral within swimming distance, which was beautiful, but still not many fish. We booked a fishing/snorkeling tour with Wayne. The day was windy, chilly and at times rainy. We only caught a few bait-sized fish and never got to snorkel because the water visibility was too poor. That was super disappointing because snorkeling was the reason we went to Belize. Carmen's boat cannot be used to take you to the cayes where the snorkeling is good. But all that being said, Belize is a fabulous place to visit with much to see., and the home is well-stocked and perfect. Carmen was great on communication and so thoughtful! I would definitely visit again, but probably in Feb or March. Our fishing guide who substituted for Wayne said that January is when the windy cold fronts move in.

Any property that has practically a private beach is just beautiful, and this one lived up to that! The dock really made it…we spent many afternoons and on into the night on that dock. We learned while we were there that docks aren’t actually private, but there’s really very little risk of anyone else wanting to use it! We encountered a total of 2 people walking along the beach while we were there! We truly felt like we were in paradise…and certainly helped us decide that we are definitely coming back to the Placencia area! The house is about a 30 minute drive from Placencia…which ended being a little far for us because we ended up going into the village, everyday, but we did not expect that. Highly recommend Taste Belize to assist with tours…they were great for us with their dinner tour, Kriol cooking tour and their coffee tour with Coffee Rick! Communication with the owner was easy and smooth. We cook a lot and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Our only hiccup was finding that only 1 person in our party could use the upstairs due to the rickety attic ladder access. That upstairs area is wonderful, with an amazing veranda…we wished more could use it. Yes, the owner disclosed it to us in the FAQs that were provided separately, but it seems worth including in the VRBO listing to be up front. Perhaps time for a more sturdy ladder to be installed to make the upstairs perfect for everyone. The pullout mattresses could use replacing too but we just ended up sleeping on top of the sofa which worked fine. The positives far outweighed the hiccup we ran into as we had a wonderful time, and like I said, this was only our first trip to Belize!

Carmen’s home and guest house were perfect for our visit to Placencia area. We enjoyed 3 days with Wayne - one fishing and snorkeling near Ranguana Caye, one touring Monkey River/Village and the Howler Monkeys and another fly fishing for my husband while the rest of us went zip lining, river tubing and swimming in the waterfalls with Truly Wild Belize Tours. All were fantastic and I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Carmen’s place is fully equipped for everything you’d need and we cooked 2 meals at home (fish we caught and lobster that Chino caught for us) and ate at local restaurants for 3 dinners. We didn’t use the dock and palapa or water toys as much as we expected to as our days were super busy and we were exhausted by the evening. Carmen checked in with us to make sure things were going well and was very communicative before the trip as well. I’d highly recommend this place to families looking to visit Placencia. You do need a car and we drove from BZE which was a beautiful drive. The stairs to the upper level are steep but manageable. We had a early 20’s guest stay upstairs and she did fine.

My wife and I stayed here with another couple from our family. We are all 60+ years old. One couple stayed in the house and one in the guest house. The house was exactly as the pictures showed. It is a wonderful vacation home. The upstairs bedroom would be useful for a younger couple or teenage children, but the stairs leading up would have been difficult for someone our age that has to get up in the middle of the night for trips to the downstairs bathroom. But the guest house was perfect for some privacy. The kitchen was well equipt and the bar-b-que pit was put to good use. We ate most of our meals at the house (But the Maya Bistro has some wonderful food if you want to eat out.) The gem of this place is the palapa. That is where we spent most of our time. Listening to music (bluetooth speakers were awesome), snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing. The house is about 12 miles from beach and shopping in Placencia. Just far enough away for convenient access. Grocery store in Maya Beach was only 4 or 5 miles away (Prices are reasonable and they had alcohol & beer). In all this was one of the top vacation spots of my life. I would love to make a return visit. Thanks Carmen !!!

Beautiful, fully equipped house; very nice private beach! The Sunrise was terrific, and it was so quiet and beautiful! The guesthouse is a great addition. If and when I can return, I will definitely see if this beach house is available.

Carmen’s place exceeded all of our expectations from day one. This VRBO was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Carmen has gone to great lengths to make sure his guests have a nice stay. He made sure the air conditioning was always working and even provides a backup Incase the main unit stops working. The place was well stocked with plenty of extra clean bedding and towels. We definitely recommend staying here when visiting Belize!

We totally enjoyed our stay at this lovely house in a very quiet neighborhood. The house was everything we hoped for, by the ocean, and a great place to hang out. Our favorite spot by far was the palapa! Our only lament is we did not schedule enough time here so we didn’t have enough palapa time! We would love to stay here again!

Main House is beautiful. Upstairs is good for older kids only as pull down stairs are hard getting up and down to beds in attic area that has been remodeled for sleeping area. The main floor is comfortable with a large kitchen area though. Dock is nice for Dawn/Dusk.

The property was a great location for us and close enough to town and some of the best dining in Placencia. We especially liked the palapa and saw stingray and barracuda and caught a few small snappers. The upstairs is a very large area and comfortable but the ladder access is steep. We were careful and didn’t have a problem and we are 60+.

This place was SPOTLESS! Incredibly clean, very private property, felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Impeccably clean, and Carmen is an amazing host! Only drawback is it's a little drive to town

There house and guest house are beautiful and well equipped. The location right on the water is perfect. The availability of snorkeling equipment and fishing equipment is a great plus. Carmen, the owner, is great to deal with and keeps in touch to be sure the stay is going well.

Just the palapa makes this a great location. We spent a lot of time out there enjoying the breeze.
