The house had tons of room to accommodate our large group. Kitchen layout was great and very well stocked. Backyard area was perfect. The whole place was secluded, with beautiful trees. Unfortunately the pond was not swimmable while we were there, but CA is in a terrible drought, can't blame the owners for that. Absolutely amazing house, and Denise was great to work with. Would rent it again in a heartbeat.

I was a great place for watching nature! We saw bears by the lake, water snakes, deer, it was great.

We've stayed here before and loved it that's why we came back. I did have to do some cleaning & organizing in the kitchen, but that won't stop me from renting again. Check out is too early at 10 am!

Lots of space and privacy. Nature at its best. House needed air conditioning and some TLC (stained carpets, hard to open back door, broken table by pond). Fabulous place for kids to explore, ride bikes, ride the paddle boat, and use the paddle board. The snakes and frogs in the pond added some excitement. Expecting guests to take trash to street (long, uphill climb) is unrealistic. I called the owner who agreed to get a local to remove trash). No WiFi was a bonus. We played and had great conversations instead of screen time. My family loved our time here and would return.

We had a good time. There was lots to do. Stumpy Meadows lake was very nice and not far away to drive.

The surrounding of the house is beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay. Whitewater rafting, swimming in the American River and fishing in the Stumpy Meadows Lake are so fun! There is no cell phone signal in the house, but there IS wi-fi though. Noticed a small snake in the property's private lake. House needs some fix and maintenance, like water filter in the kitchen and downstair bathroom. House is very spacious and thoughtfully provided a lot of things to play with. Denise is also easy to communiate and very responsive. A very happy trip!

Great for family getaway. Private lake was fun. Beautiful area and property. Bbqer needed cleaning.

The rental was perfect for a large family getaway. Beautiful grounds and the house had everything we needed. A little deeper in the mountains than we anticipated, but well worth the drive. Would love to come back and do it all again!

Area is nice for pictures. House is roomy. Only thing the gas stove is low, takes a while to cook stuff. Oven and microwave was in great shape.

It is a wonderful property in woods. This has been our first experience and all thanks to Denise for making our vacay very relaxing with all the amenities and very safe by providing clean house especially during covid times and comfortable cozy beds. Specially the private lake, Kids loved every minute of it. Really looking forward to come back to this property in summers.

Our family had an awesome time there. Loved having the pool table/ping pong table to play. The kitchen is huge and the main family room is also quite a bit bigger than what it looks like in the pictures. I'd give it 4.5 stars only because the two bedrooms upstairs with carpet and the rug in the game room had a funky smell. But opening the windows helped a lot. Overall we had a great time. Would consider renting again!

We had an amazing time! The property was gorgeous, we never left. Definitely pack in your ice because the ice maker doesn't work. Other than that, everything was so perfect - our whole party was comfortable and the wide variety of fun things to do on site were amazing. Thanks for making it available for us!

I was nervous booking this property. I knew trying to get 14 of my immediate family members together for my birthday would be a Herculean task. That, combined with the fact that many of my family members were used to enjoying more of a Disneyland kind of magic, rather than a remote forest location, made me nervous. I could feel the doubt. "Where the heck are we going?" "Are we going to get murdered there?" "Is it safe?" On the drive up, my wife, daughter, and I, said a little prayer in the car. We just prayed that healing and togetherness would happen at Georgetown. Then, magic happened. At this special, 9-acre property, with no wi-fi and no cell signal, my family bonded. Truly bonded. Songs were sang around campfires. Tears were shed talking about life challenges. Water fights were had at the private lake. A ping pong tournament was held with cheering and fanfare. And of course, we had late night poker games. It was truly magical. I'm a business owner, and was honestly worried about not being able to check my email or be inaccessible to my company. You know what? They survived, and did just fine. And all my neices and nephews focused on each other rather than on their screens. We all commented that we felt like we were in another world. We were. If this is the kind of retreat you want, this Georgetown property is your ticket. There were a few small issues, but honestly, they aren't even worth mentioning. And Denise was very good about communication. If you're more curious about those issues, maybe this place isn't for you. This place is for those looking for magic. We'll be back.

This house is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge your batteries. Direct TV let’s you have some entertainment and stay abreast of the news without being online. There is so much for the kids to do and the adults were able to relax and enjoy the scenery,

I usually don’t leave a review but this property so exceeded our expectations. The private lake was such fun. The grounds were spectacular and the house itself was so beautiful. We will definitely be staying here more.

My family loved this vacation home with a private lake. The accommodations were great!! The owner responded promptly when we had a question. The only things that we would have liked are more than one oar for two paddle boards and a small boat that were at the lake. Also, we would have liked more towels available for use since we had a total of 16 family members, staying for three days. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay so much!!

We booked this for our annual family vacation in which we usually take our RV's but decided for a change this year. We were 14 people including 4 kids. Therer were plenty of beds but the downstairs bedrooms were a little deceiving in that it's not really a master downstairs but a bedroom with it's own door to a bathroom shared by others, which in the end worked out fine. The other bedroom downstairs has 2 queens in the same room, which we didn't see speficied in the description and caused 1 person to sleep in a rather uncomfortable situation for the 5 nights we were there. The house is spacious and clean. The linens were also clean, although there could have been a few more bath towels. So if you like to use 2 when you shower, take extra. The kitchen had most everything we needed as far as pots, pans, cups, glasses and silverware but only had 1 measuring spoon and 1 measuring cup. Also, the ice and water in the fridge is disconnected or locked out so there was no ice being made, thank goodness we had a portable ice machine but we still needed to make daily trips to town for ice. The livingroom was comfortable, nice and cool but only has seating for 6 and we were 14 people, a little tight for everyone for downtime but Directv was a nice surprise. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a nice time. The kids loved the lake and the paddle boat and the adults enjoyed the horsehoes, firepit and ping pong table. We did leave extra ping pong paddles and balls for the next guests to enjoy. Also, the BBQ is newer and works well. I would definitely recommend this vacation rental.

We absolutely loved our stay at this secluded house on a private lake. We spent all day at the lake each day using the boats and swimming (bring floats). The fire pit area is also great and the house is gigantic. Way more space than we needed for our small family of five and we hope to go back with friends some time - could easily fit 3 families! Denise was accessible when we had questions which helped our stay. We’d love to come back!

Peace, quiet, a great view, undisturbed calm. Many words to describe the beauty and solitude of this place. There is a small pond, pool table/ping pong table, horseshoes, paddle boards, bring your own chairs to sit and enjoy the nature. However, there is only one paddle for the two boards, no oar for the row boat, no rake for the horseshoe pit, one (very dirty) pot holder, only 10 forks, one kitchen towel, and the floors and hand railings were rather dirty when we came in. There are many coffee mugs and champagne flutes, only 4 wine glasses, and a few other glasses. Bring supplies, and enjoy!

We had two families stay at the home. There were a lot of amenities that made having no WiFi fun, such as a pool/ping pong table, frisbee golf, horseshoes, fire pit, (though a permit is needed) and hiking trails. It was too cold to make use of the water toys but there are some for use. Unfortunately the very nice pool cues had no tips! The kitchen has all the basic stuff one needs except wine glasses. Plenty of champagne flutes though. The beds were all comfortable and in great condition though the heat fluctuated a lot depending on room. Some spaces were cold and others hot. There are directions onThe door and in a binder that contradict each other as to how to leave the property. We left it cleaner than when we arrived. Before arriving, communication with the manager was easy and she was responsive. Afterward, however, when I wrote an email about our steep deposit, there has been no response from her from my initial email or follow up one. It’s now been a week and a half. This is disappointing as we hoped to return to the property in the spring. After many attempts to reach the manager and writing a review that indicated the lack of follow up, I finally received a processing of the deposit. In summary, the space is a great retreat but it was a hassle to get the steep deposit back .

Spacious and as expected. Perfect for a long weekend away w/ family & friends. A couple of opportunities w/ very minor things around the house (i.e. cue stick tips, missing blind strips, small hole in wall, etc), but the MANY things to do & awesome condition of all else made us very happy! Will definitely consider again.

Pictures do this place nothing. Had my wedding in Georgetown and the wedding party all stayed at the cabin with us and we all instantly said we want to stay here again and often. Just an absolutely amazing place! Can not recommend enough!
