Three days of family fun - definitely not enough time! Gumbo Bungalow was clean, comfy, and cozy and we hope to stay there again soon!

We had a girls trip and this was the perfect house if you're looking for a fun relaxing beach vacation. We had to have a pool and the beach had to be close and this place was perfect! If I ever come back to Pensacola with a group, this will be the house I'd choose! Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time!

We travelled for a family beach vacation with our two young children, best friends, and their two young children. The house was spacious enough for our group of 6 adults and 4 children. The pool was the star of our stay. We enjoyed the shallow landing area for our toddlers and the adults enjoyed the swim up bar. Communication with our host was great and the check in/out process was easy.

The back yard was amazing! Loved the house!

Great location to the beach, having our own private pool and activities area. The lay out of the house was perfect for 10 people. Would highly recommend it. 👌

The location and house are awesome. We had a great time. The house definitely needs some TLC!!! Could use a better cleaning before guest arrive. That being said it is definetly worth renting. Love Pensacola !!

The layout of the house was very convenient and nice. The pool and outside area was also very nice, but due to cold weather we were unable to use the pool. It's convenient to get to the beach. The only drawback was the fact that the house was dirty and had a strong mildew smell.

Fabulous rental with an ideal pool and backyard set up. There was plenty of chairs, pool floats, toys, games and activities in the outdoor area. The beach was just a short walk away on a well paved path. The property owner was prompt to respond and even let us check in early! Great value property and we will be visiting again!

This house was absolutely perfect for my group. The pool kept the children busy when we weren't at the beach or doing other activities. The balcony was perfect! We had a few heavier set people in a group and the patio furniture was nice and sturdy so everyone was comfortable sitting on it. The beach is a very short walk away. I noted a few reviews that mentioned an unpleasant odor downstairs, I called the owner who explained it had been fixed and it had. There was no foul odors anywhere in the house. The downstairs is not accessible from upstairs, it simply wasn't an issue for our group, we all ran back and forth as needed without issue. I will be looking to book this house again for future trips!

We had four families stay here over our Spring Break. Traveled from Wisconsin. Front of the house is a bit run down/no curb appeal but the house itself met expectations. Upstairs bedrooms were nice. Basement bedrooms are not as appealing. Only being able to access the basement from the outside is a bummer. Pool was a huge hit. Had an issue with the pool lights not turning on. Owner was quick to reply to my text. It was great having the beach so close. Would definitely stay here again.

Everyone had a blast and the house/pool was very nice. Couple of things I think should be made more clear in the listing which is why I rated it a 3. 2 of the 5 bedrooms are not accessible from inside the house - they are down by the pool area looks like a converted garage which is great but you do have to go up/down stairs to get into the main house from them. The other thing is the listing says it offers great views of the Gulf and it does not. The walk is not far which is great but you cannot see or hear the ocean from the house or deck which was very disappointing since I had searched for Beachfront and it came up and said there were views. All you could see were the houses between us and the beach. The pool lights had evidently been left on by the previous visitors and they weren't checked so when we couldn't get them to come on it was 3 days before someone was there to get them working.

House is in a great location but needs a lot of updating. Ping pong table was broke, basketball back board broke. Outside shower had rotted wood to dangerous to use. Pool was cold until our last day when pool cleaners came. There wasn’t a porch light for front porch with a lot of steps. Could be a great place if they fixed up.

We chose this property because it had a lot to offer for all the different ages in our family. The location of the house was perfect, it was a very short walk to the beach with no busy roads to cross and the beach was beautiful! The backyard was fenced in for privacy, and the pool was very nice too! However, we were very disappointed that the beautiful sandbox shown in the pictures was actually completely unusable because it was overgrown with tree roots and grass. The ping-pong table was cracked and could not be used. The basement bedrooms had a strong musty odor which came home with us in all of our towels and clothes. This is unfortunate because of the prime location. I feel bad saying all of this because Stephany was very helpful and a pleasure to work with when we had questions and concerns. However, with a little TLC, this place could be FANTASTIC!

We LOVED this place!! Very clean and nicely updated! We had 16 people stay and had enough room. This place had everything that we needed! Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we cooked a wide variety of meals. They had all kinds of outdoor activities/toys as well as indoor. The pool was a huge hit!! We had different kinds of weather while being there and had plenty to do! Owner was GREAT! Communicated before our trip and made sure we had everything we needed. Great location! Not far at all from the main attractions and literally a block off the beach. We will definitely be rebooking for next year!!

We went between Christmas and New years. The weather was amazing and the pool was the highlight of the trip. Location is great! If just a couple of improvements could be made, I would have given 5 stars. The downstairs is NOT accessable without going outside. I booked a year in advance and I did not know this. New towels/ pans and just general kitchen items would really help as well. We had a group of 10 and the living area just was not big enough but that is my fault for not paying attention to details.

If you’re just looking for a nice heated pool close to the beach, this place will work. But man, it could be so much better with just a little bit of maintenance, upkeep and provisions. First, the layout. The main level is comprised of the living room/kitchen in the center, with the master off to the right and two guest rooms (which share a bathroom) off to the left. At the back, a door leads to a back deck and down to the pool deck below. Straightforward. However, the fourth and fifth bedrooms are not accessible from the main level. To get there, you have to go outside and down the exterior stairs. And, the lower rooms are small, musty and provisioned with very unstable bunk beds. Not safe. Felt like camping. The house needs maintenance. A bathroom faucet leaks, the kitchen sink is difficult to shout off, the shower heads in the master need to be replaced, etc. And it needs to be better supplied. The bath towels are paper thin and TINY! Like, not human sized. Literally cannot get them around your body. Every towel, in every bathroom. And the kitchen equipment needs to be refreshed. Knives are dull, no colander, no meat thermometer, skillets are warped and scratched badly, etc. The prize of this place is the back yard. Pool was great, nice volleyball option. Plenty of space for cornhole, etc. But even here, it needs some TLC badly. The horseshoe pits are overgrown to be unusable, and the ping pong table was broken (as in, a corner of the table broken off). Place has great potential and may suit your needs if your focus is on outdoor fun. But if you want your rental to be well supplied with all items functioning properly, this might not be the one for you.

Response time from owner was excellent. Very nice and easy to work with. 2 families staying in downstairs family bedrooms left early due to pungent mildew water damage odor/damp feeling. The smell was also upstairs but much more bearable. There were a few roaches seen in upstairs bedroom and kitchen. We enjoyed the pool, patio yard area and close distance to the beach very much!

Had a great time spending the week at Gumbo Bungalow with my friends. We were worried about cockroaches from previous reviews, but we didn’t have any issues. House is spacious and the backyard is incredible. So close to the beach too! 10/10 would recommend.

House was nice, outdoor space and pool were awesome, great location and very quick walk to the beach!

We loved our stay here. The owner was great communicating and working with our family. There were lots of perks provided - one being lots of beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas. The pool was AWESOME - so much fun. And we were so close to the beach. We were concerned due to one reviewer mentioning bugs. So, yes, we did see a few bugs - but come on, people - it's Florida. My brother rented a home a block away and at night, the deck had lots of palmetto bugs. It happens. The downstairs tub was in working condition and the house was very clean. My one complaint is the fact that two downstairs rooms were not accessible from the inside. It worked great for the older boys but was a bit difficult for one of the families - especially when it rained. We made it work but I do think it should be disclosed in the description. All in all, I would stay here again.

The past reviews are accurate that there in fact is roaches at the home quite large ones in fact. The down stairs needs a complete overhaul it has seen its best days and the bathroom tub did not drain which I did make the owner aware of this on day 1 because the cleaning people didn't even clean the tub. She did not address that problem at all said she would get back to me. We left early because the roaches had ended up in a couple of the kids beds and that was the last straw for us. The outside and location is fantastic and can understand why this place rents so fast but the cleanliness is definitely lacking in a large way. The cleaning crew if you call them that basically changed sheets and wiped stuff down. We even found a old baby bottle under the couch that was there for a while which tells me they don't clean under the couches at all. Another issue which needs to be in the listing and you cannot access the downstairs with out going outside which is definitely a pain and we would not have rented this home if we would have known. Overall we were very disappointed in this house.

The house is perfectly located near Pensacola Beach, restaurants, and shopping! The white sand beaches are so close to the house! The pool at the house is amazing. We spent most of our time at the beach or in the pool. The downstairs bedrooms and bathroom are not connected to the house. You have to walk outside to get to them. That was challenging in some rain storms! The basement bathroom is less than desirable. The tub didn’t drain and the doors don’t shut. I would recommend this house though mainly based on the location and the pool area!

The house was everything we wanted.Good lacation, great beach access, no major problems ,would definitely stay again.

Pool was great. Access to the beach was good. Two negatives were smelly lower level and lots of roaches.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Gumbo Bungalow! Great area with quick access to the beach and restaurants! Enjoyed the pool bar/volleyball set up and plenty of room in the house/downstairs.

Our family had a great time at this house! The proximity to the beach is absolutely amazing. Easy to come and go multiple times throughout the day. Given the unfortunate weather we experienced during our stay we were extremely grateful for the heated pool, it allowed the kids to have a blast even when it was on the colder side. Our family is large enough we did utilize the basement level which was a little rough having to go outside to get down to the bedrooms when it was pouring rain and storming. This doesn’t change my review of the house, just something to possibly be considered. Overall it was a great trip and it’d be nice to give it another try with warmer weather so we could enjoy the beach even more!

Family and friends came to celebrate a milestone birthday and the property did not disappoint. A few people weren't able to make it so we did not use the downstairs bedrooms, which was good. While it was very clean, there is a strong musty odor that I would not have been able to deal with. I also was not aware that the only access to downstairs bedrooms was by going outside. This can't be changed of course, I do understand. The walk to the beach was super close and easy. We absolutely loved the pool area, although the area under the porch was not left neat and cleaned when we arrived. Overall the property is great and I would definitely consider staying there again, and recommend it to others.

Our week at this property was the getaway three families needed. With nine kids in tow with a variety of ages, it had all the conveniences we needed. Very quick access to the beach, but the fenced in yard and amazing pool was where we spent most of our time! Stephany was also very responsive when we had questions. Thanks for a wonderful week!

We vacationed with our family & another family. There were 4 adults and 7 teens. The location and the amenities of this property were perfect for our family & friends. The location & access to the beach was so easy and the pool was fabulous for the kids. We would visit again!
