House is perfect for a medium to large family. Has a beautiful creek running behind it. Plenty of space. A little dated, but otherwise a great spot to tackle Yosemite from.

Close to trailheads, quiet, amply furnished, comfortable and a lovely outdoor setting. We did have to drive to Yosemite Valley, but the property is located within the park boundary, making that trip easy to do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at friends lodge. It’s spacious and well maintained. Loved the deck, Jacuzzi and sounds of the river flowing by. Would highly recommend it for a couple of families traveling together or a large group of friends. Will sleep at least eight comfortably. Plus another few twin beds, fold outs and a futon..

I would recommend this home to anyone that is looking for a family get away. Close to Yosemite, the Mariposa Grove, river swimming, hiking, etc. Book and enjoy!!

This home was very beautiful, spacious, and cozy! Plenty of space if you are bringing a large group. Everything was clean when we got there. We had ton of fun in the outdoor tub and the Fooseball table in the living room. I liked the location as it was pretty close to the Yosemite falls we planned on going to. Im glad we got to spend time here and recommend this to anyone who wants to take a large group of friends out for a good time!!

What an beautiful home. We stayed this weekend for our family reunion and had an amazing time. All The amenities of home and spotless. Prop management super responsive and accommodating. Perfect size for all of us..tons of room and super comfortable beds and living area. We will be back!!!!!!

This property by far exceeded our expectations and our expectations were high. Very comfortable for three families. The setting is beautiful with the river running right below the deck. Wonderful stay!

Friends Lodge was a great place for a weekend getaway in Yosemite with my group of 10 people. The living space in the house is very spacious, very comfortable beds, and big and functional bathrooms. The icing on the cake was the hot tub on the deck. After a long days of hiking in Yosemite, we all loved to soak in the hot tub late at night. I would definitely recommend Jim's place for a large group or family looking for a great place to stay near Yosemite!

There were 9 adults in our party and it accommodated us quite nicely. Two couples shared a first level bedroom and bathroom. There were plenty of blankets, towels etc. All appliances and plumbing worked as expected. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we could easily sit around the kitchen table for meals. The deck was large and easily accommodated our group as well. The newly renovated Mariposa Grove is very close to this home and is a must see while in the area. Enjoyed this home and our Yosemite hikes! Thanks! Cindy

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious and private Wawona house! It was very spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, the foosball table and exploring the creek right outside the house. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking and the kitchen had plenty of seating. Check in and check out was easy. We would absolutely stay here again!

This cabin exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of space for our group and despite the huge storm that came we were able to stay comfortable inside. The property is not that far of a drive to Yosemite Valley. We didn't get to do as much since the storm made road conditions harsh but we knew we had a comfortable place to come back to. We wish we brought swimming attire to jump in the hot tub. Thanks for the great hospitality.

Home had good amount of space/beds and great location!

The owners are very prompt in responding to our inquiry about renting their home. They are exceptionally nice and friendly. The home is spacious, homely, and clean. The Chilnualna Falls hiking trail, which is nearby, is very beautiful.We loved the experience.

Our family has stayed in this cabin for many years. We have tried 5 or 6 others over the years, but always prefer this one when we can get it. Great secluded location near the river/creek that runs though Wawona. Very close to hiking trails. Wel updated cabin with all the amenities you could want. Luxury living in a secluded beautiful area.

The home (I can't call it a cabin) was magnificent. We have been staying at the Redwoods off and on for 35 years; while our children were growing up, we would go there every Thanksgiving. In all the lovely homes we have stayed in, Friends' Lodge surpasses them all for amenities, space, comfort, and just the feel of being in a place that is so lovingly and comfortably appointed. Friends of ours and their family stayed in a smaller home, so we all did the cooking and the dining in this one. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us. We always come prepared with many of our own kitchen appliances, utensils, and wine/champagne glasses. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this kitchen was extremely well stocked (even with a microplane for zesting lemons!) Leave your wine glasses at home. The weather was unseasonably warm, so we had lunch on the spacious deck and enjoyed the sounds of the water rushing past. The outdoor furniture is comfortable and practical. There is a large hot tub that is regularly maintained. Friend's Lodge has become our go-to house for all future visits to The Redwoods at Yosemite. P.S. Nothing to do with the home, but be sure to pack plenty of paper towels. They used to be, but are no longer supplied by The Redwoods, and can get pricey at the local Pine Tree Market.

Just perfect for our family vacation and had all the amenities for the 12 of us to be comfortable! Football table and hot tub were a hit! The large kitchen made cooking family meals a breeze plus ample seating for eating and playing games!! The outside deck was amazing for lounging and the bedrooms were spacious and comfy! Thank you for providing the perfect house for our family vacation!

Walked frequently to swinging bridge to swim in the many pools. Would definitely rent again if we returned to Yosemite. Owners were very helpful in planning our stay.

Our family used to camp in Yosemite every year in the 1970's when my children were small. Now they are grown 40 years later and have never been able to return after scattering across the US to start therir own families. For the occasion of my 75th birthday we decided we would hold a reunion in Yosemite to re-visit that experience for them and our grand children. Since tent camping in the valley floor has become over crowded and nearly impossible to arrange, we found the perfect solution in "Friends Lodge" It was more than big enough for out family of 11 and had all the features necessary for a fun stay. We could spend family time together on the spacious deck while enjoying our home cooked meals, relax in the wonderful hot tub and later and retreat to our spacious rooms to rest before the next days adventure. The cabin is located only about 25 miles from the valley floor so driving access is not difficult and there is even a regularly scheduled bus that will talke you there and back every hour or so to make it even easier. In days when we just wanted to relax at the cabin there were close by hiking trails along the river that flows less than 100 feet from the cabin lot. It was only a 15 minute hike to see a waterfall or the swinging bridge. There is even a small grocery store and a horseback riding stable within walking distance. Throughout the rental process, the owner, Jim Freund, made sure to answer all our questions and advise/help to arrange any special needs we might have before our arrival. The rental office is also located within walking distance where we could obtain things like additional linens, soaps and toilet paper. Staying at Friends Lodge was the best decision we could have ever made for our family reunion.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The home is great we couldn't have asked for a better place. We will definitely come back and try to book this location. Jim and Donna are great they made sure to follow up and confirm that we had a great time. We will definitely be back.

This was the third cabin I had rented in Yosemite for a family vacation, and it was my favorite. I looked at several cabins before committing to this one and emailed a few owners. With the news reporting vacation rental scams on TV, my first concern was showing up at a cabin and finding it already rented to someone else. Some owners didn't bother to reply, but James emailed me right away and allayed that concern. My second concern was that the cabin would not be big enough for 11 people. It is huge and perfect for large groups. Everyone was happy with their sleeping accommodations and with the size of the cabin. The kids loved the foosball table and the adults loved the enormous deck and hot tub. My only complaint was that our stay was not long enough.

We celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary by staying in this lovely home. There were 14 of us and we were amazed at how well it fit all of us. It was comfortable and felt very secluded. The grandkids loved the river behind the house as well as the hot tub. We were able to visit Yosemite Valley Floor and Glacier Point easily from this location.

We were told to bring everything and we would only be supplied with soap, toels, bedding and toilet paper. We were not given enough toels or sheets, kept running out of toilet paper and trash bags and the reservation office was stingy in giving out the supplies forcing us to visit many times during the week to restock. The house is comfortable, very lived in, nothing special but fine for our purposes. We were a family of 12 and all had comfortable beds and space. Not much kitcheb cabinet room to store food. This is a very pricey property and therefore I expected more from the management. Pictures make property look larger than it is. We love Yosemite and all in all had a wonderful time.

Friends Lodge in Yosemite was the ideal place for our trip to Yosemite! We look for a couple of things when we travel - is it as advertised, is it the right location to be a base, and is it easy to do. We've done VRBO several times now, and this scored top marks on everything! We fell in love with the lodge from the photos, and the pictures represent exactly the comfort, set-up, and wonderful atmosphere of the lodge. From the deck overlooking the creek to the large kitchen table/sitting area (both favorites of ours), it was exactly what we had hoped to find. It fit our large group with ease. And the location... Well, it couldn't get any better. In Yosemite National Park, as close as you can get to the valley floor without staying in one of the lodges there (which would have split up our larger group), easy drive to Glacier Point, and not a bad trip at all to Tuolumne Meadows and the north side (it is on the other side of the valley floor, but what a beautiful drive it is!). With the local market, we could pick up anything we needed. And we loved just hiking down the creek to the river and exploring too! And the owners were so prompt and personable in answering our questions. It could not have been a more seamless or enjoyable transaction. Customer service was excellent to let us get everything straightened away well in advance, including late arrival. Not only would we most highly recommend it, we can't wait for an opportunity to come back! We loved it!

Really enjoyed staying in this wonderful, spacious, relaxing cabin! The cabin feels very private and the stream running in the back just added to the ambiance of being in the mountains! The new master bathroom is spacious and yet intimate - and the new room (I'll call it a "Writer's Loft") is so light, airy and inviting that you can't help but be inspired and refreshed. This is one cabin that feels welcoming from the moment you drive up to it - and you're only 35 minutes from the Yosemite Valley floor. Highly recommended!

Loved the friends cabin! Very cozy and sooo comfortable. Amazing setting in yosemite national park with a river running behind the house! We loved our stay there!

What a lovely home in the heart of the Wawona area. My husband and I as well as our dog spent a full week in this retreat. The location was full of solitude, beauty of the trees and the wonderful sounds of the creek going by. The home was very comfortable with many comfy sitting areas to relax or read a book. The décor was tasteful and we found the kitchen had all the amenities we could need for our week's stay. Another perk was an extra night's stay and a credit to the local market. We will look forward to another stay in the future!

I loved your home; the decor was beautiful and very fitting a mountain setting. I felt at home and will love to come back again one day.
