This is a basic no frills, partially furnished, partially finished small resort with a beautiful ocean front setting and hard working local staff. The units are quite small, and there are extra charges for over 2 people per unit. Hopkins however is a lovely community we thoroughly enjoyed.

This place combined the amenities you need with the most gorgeous ocean setting. Would absolutely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sarkiki! Everyone was warm and welcoming! It was awesome getting first hand advice on places to eat and places to explore! We especially enjoyed our fishing and snorkeling trip on Patrick’s boat with Captain Jack which Linda arranged for us. Having Mangos right next door was great in the evenings we just wanted to stay close.

Safe place, friendly staff, easy access to the ocean, clean property. Highly recommend this property.

We really enjoyed our stay. the owners were very nice and responsive, even finding us fresh fish to grill. The beach is perfect and the pool area was very nice. Our only issue was with the no-see-ums (sand fleas), just be prepared!

We had an amazing time in Hopkins. Choosing a VRBO over a resort seemed a little risky, but we wanted to experience Belize in a non-touristy kind of way. The villa was simple but adequate, and included the use of pool rafts, bikes, books, and more. We were able to Zipline, hike, and cave tube nearby. It was great!

No personal touches and could’ve used a few more amenities (metal tools for BBQ etc. Nothing major) Beach was great, a long walk out to get to deep water so good for little ones and maybe not for serious swimmers. Pool was great but the poolside bars are supply and serve yourself. RENT A CAR. We did and used it pretty much every day, be it for a quick grocery run or exploring either way, there’s not much around so it’s not very walk friendly. Our vacation was everything we had hoped for and this rental was all that it advertised. You will stay a bit off the beaten path immediately next door to a beach bar frequented only by locals. We had the beach and pool to ourselves and Manuel was amazing- present just often enough to help out if we needed advice or help with anything. We will be back!

My wife and I spent a week at Sarkiki Reef in April and had a wonderful time. We had stayed here once before, several years ago, and were keen to come back. It did not disappoint! The condo is very spacious, on two levels, both with patios, and a third patio on the roof with great views out over the garden, pool, beach and the Caribbean. The line of tiny islands that make up the South Water Cayes was visible on the horizon. The condo is well equipped and had all the basics. The wifi functioned ok for basic purposes. The staff are excellent - friendly, courteous, helpful. If you want a fresh coconut straight from the tree, just ask! We ate breakfast on the patio each morning, and spent quite a bit of time at the pool, relaxing in the sun, swimming, and watching the iguanas. The grounds are attractive and well maintained. The beach is lovely. The sea is quite shallow close to shore, so you need to walk out until it is deep enough to swim. Since our first visit the Mango beach bar has opened right next to the Sarkiki complex. It's very quiet and casual, and we made good use of it. The marina is close by and there is a good restaurant there, too. Otherwise the condo is some distance south of the main village, shops and facilities of Hopkins. We rented a car and drove from Belize airport (approx two and a half hours), and were glad to have our own transportation. We spent two days diving and snorkeling with Seemore Adventures (their little office is one of the first buildings you come to when you drive back into Hopkins (as long as you ignore the one-way signs!!) We also spent two half days in the nearby Cockscomb Forest Reserve and the Mayflower Bokawina Reserve. Lovely tropical rain forest scenery with some great walks. Sarkiki is definitely one of our favorite places, and we hope to be back again.

The accommodations were great and the staff at the resort are wonderful. If you are looking for a great jump off point for day trips around Belize and an amazing pool and beach to return to!

Go, you will love it!

The property is located on a great beach which was cleaned daily by the crew on-site. All 3 pools worked perfectly and they were cleaned daily as well. The garden is well maintained and the on-site management is very accommodating and helpful. The apartment had the basic items supplied such as towels, plates, cups etc. but nothing more. The apartment inside needs some updating, fresh paint etc. My only negative comment is that any other properties we rented so far through VRBO were very cozy and had personal touches of the owner - so was this one on the pictures with painting on the wall, flowers and decorations. In reality, this apartment has absolutely zero decorations, no pictures on the wall, nothing other than the basics. It did not feel like a VRBO experience. Still, we had a great time.

We stayed at Linda's property for ten days, and loved every minute. During our time in Hopkins and exploring Belize more broadly, we couldn't identify a single other place where we'd have rather stayed. We really appreciated that Sarkiki felt less "resorty" and more down-to-earth (in a good way) than some of the places in the area. The apartment offered plenty of space for three people (one couple and one solo), and definitely could have handled more. The site is gorgeous: pristine beach, lovely landscaping, refreshing pools... We often had morning coffee and dinner out on the balcony, enjoying the beautiful sunrises and starfilled skies. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and Linda and Mike offer great recommendations on things to do in the area. The spot is a little south of Hopkins, which we preferred to being in the thick of the touristy areas. We rented a car from Hopkins Auto Rental (they are great!), which made it easy to get into "downtown" Hopkins and to explore the rest of the region. The dirt road is a little bumpy, but we actually liked that--it forced us to slow down a little and focus on our surroundings, and allowed us to wave at everyone we passed, which is a delightful norm in Hopkins! From Sarkiki, we very easily did the following activities, among others: four days of diving with Seemore in Hopkins, ziplining and waterfall rappelling at Bocawina National Park 40 minutes away, a waterfall hike in Cockscomb Preserve, and a guided tour of Xunantunich Mayan ruins. Thank you, Linda and Mike, for a wonderful and memorable stay!

Right on the ocean, with beautiful palm trees, flowers, and 3 sparkling swimming pools. Staff was the best: Epi, Lisa, (and Alvin!), Manuel, Rueben, and Elton were attentive, had lots of good information for us and even cooked the fish we caught. I highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Linda's villa in Hopkin's. Linda was extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating as was the entire staff there. The grounds were beautiful and the villa was very comfortable and clean. We would definitely recommend staying there if you plan on staying at Hopkins. Gary and Heidi

We very much enjoyed our first stay in Belize even though we had rainy weather 5 out of the 6 days. (June is rainy season????) Staff accommodated our late arrival supplying us with coffee and a few things out of their own kitchen (Thank you so much) for the next day since the stores were already closed when we went through. The roads were horrendous and the rain made them even worse, but we expect some of those things in foreign countries. Beach and pool right out side our unit and everything we needed inside. I could give you 5 stars except for the weather which I know you can't control.

Beautiful property outside of Hopkins Village hosted by Linda and Mike with an incredible staff We enjoyed our family time very much on the beautiful grounds of Sarkiki. Linda had helped us arrange snorkeling, fishing, a massage and zip lining. We had not rented a car, so this is one thing I would suggest as it is a bit far out of town with only bikes and the unpaved roads with pot holes. Epi and staff treated us to fresh coconuts and were always available if we needed anything. We enjoyed our time very much!

Our experience at Sarkiki was amazing! From the on-going communication with the owner, to the helpful / very friendly staff Epi and Manual, to cozy accommodations that were clean and comfortable. Sarkiki delivered on all expectations and more. Hopkins was a great town. We spent a lot of time diving - we recommend both Belize Underwater and Seemore Adventures - and the pool at Sarkiki was a very nice to have for our family; our daughter swam everyday, most of the day. Plan ahead as you'll need to hit a grocery. And make sure to rent a car; a must for this location and for you to explore nearby towns and adventure spots. We recommend Sarkiki for your next stay in Hopkins! Amazing place!

The road to this place leaves a lot to be desired. But, after suffering through numerous potholes and bumps, we finally arrived! Had we known the place was located along such a bad road, we definitely would have picked up drinks and food in the Village of Hopkins before setting out to the resort. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that we were the only group at the resort during the time of our stay, and we enjoyed it a lot! Eppy, who works at maintenance and also checked us in, made our stay here extra special!

My wife and I stayed at Sarkiki for two weeks over Christmas and New Years and it was perfect for us. Linda and Mike were super helpful with recommendations for everything from car rental to what spices to bring should the local stores not have what we needed/ were used to. It’s a self-catering resort - which suits us – anything/or any advice we needed we were able to just ask.?Sarkiki is relatively new and our suite was great – it was a 2 bedroom and we slept in the upper room. The beds were firm – which we liked – and very clean. Every room has a fan and AC and there was no problem sleeping! Sometimes too hard to get up – but hey – isn’t that what vacations are for!? The kitchen was very well appointed – fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, kettle and of course a blender! The tile floors were cool on the feet and super clean. We would venture that Belize is not a wine drinking culture - the rum and beer are however, excellent! When in Rome….?Each suite – aside from the ground floor unit has 2 upper decks that were great for daydreaming and napping by day – and starwatching by night. The sky was super clear and on the nights with a good breeze to keep the bugs away - even better. ?3 linked pools - clean and refreshing – and at the most 10 steps from our door – not that big – but the ocean was no more than 50m away - very shallow here for a long way out ?The shower was more than fine – water temperature the same as at home. It took a little more time to get warm water to 2nd floor, but not much. Shower was tiled and clean. The towels were clean and thick. ?A word about Sarkiki – 5 years ago there was nothing here – none of the landscaping, buildings, pool, or infrastructure. Unlike a lot of places – they have put in a grey water recycling system and waste is dealt with onsite. It’s a refreshing change and important for us to leave a smaller footprint when possible - it’s obvious that they have become a vital part of the local community. ?We enjoyed the company of our gracious hosts as well as other guests when we went into town for some of the local fare - these were the food highlights for us – never mind the larger resorts. ? Would stay here again in a heart beat, other - renting a vehicle a must - lots to see in the region, bring good bug spray, bring a camera - beautiful region

Had a great time at Sirkiki. The accomodations were just as pictured, and very clean and comfortable. The atmosphere was very laid back, and all the staff were very helpful in responding to needs and in setting up outings. Mike and Linda were great hosts, and we enjoyed several meals together at local restuarants. Food was fantastic--especially the little local places. Didn't get to try the Gibnut--so maybe next time. Would definitely recommend this facility and hope to be back soon.
