Very nice. Definitely a great destination for a girls trip.

Great location. Close to everything, but still super quiet! Listening to the rain hitting the tin roof was so relaxing. 100% would stay again.

We had a wonderful time in the cabin. Everything is close, including restaurants, grocery stores, campus NSU, golf course, public pool, and downtown. Everything you need for relaxing, fishing, working, and enjoying time in romantic accommodation. The host was very nice and friendly. Jennifer is easy to communicate with, and he helped us with any questions. We will come back again for sure.

This was our third visit to the Birdnest on the Cane because we love the secluded-looking setting, the lovely property which is always properly cleaned and supplied, the historic town of Natchitoches, and the ALWAYS responsive owner. We like that the house is located very near all the entertainment, the restaurants, and plantations. There is a wrap around deck and boat dock. The modern kitchen has everything. Even the icemaker works. The wildlife on the river is varied, including a 7 ft. alligator who has learned to come around at all meal times. We especially love the paddle boat. The Birdnest on the Cane is a great value, also. We plan on returning again. Thanks so much, Jennifer, for another wonderful visit.

I love being on the river and still being close to stores and Resturants. The house is a neat design and the neighborhood is quiet. Sitting on the porch watch boats and wildlife go by, is relaxing.

Beautiful location on the river. Enjoyed coffee on the deck listening to the birds and watching the turtles. Close to Walmart and a short drive to historic front street.

Great relaxing place, very nice, well-kept. Great access to the water to enjoy fishing, water sports, or just a quiet relaxing evening, looking over the view of the water. we will definitely go back again to enjoy the place once more.

Beautiful restful place on the cane river/lak.? The view on the deck is great, we especially enjoyed coffee on the deck as the sun rose across the river. Comfortable and quiet retreat. Downfown is only a couple of miles aeay for history, fedtivals, musrums.

Very nice little place, very scenic and cozy

This is a great property if you're in the Natchitoches area! Very clean, comfortable & well stocked. Easy communication with the host. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the property was only semi-private. It is located behind an existing home.

The Bird’s Nest was a great place to stay for our quiet and peaceful weekend. Conveniently located to anything we may have needed. Downtown was beautiful and we can’t wait to come back during the holidays to see all the lights.

The house was as described and owner was very responsive. The restaurants were great. Peaceful sitting on the porch overlooking the river.

Loved the convenience and history of the area. Enjoyed the fishing and alligator watching.

Wonderful stay. Very clean. Easy check in. Great location within a short distance to restaurants, shopping, and different sight seeing activities.

Our trip started out nice with ease of check in and nice relaxing place as advertised. However second night into our stay the temperature goes to 84 as air conditioner not working. It is after 10 PM so I email management. I call at 7:30 the next morning as we are trying to decide if we need to go to another place and are leaving for a day trip (leaving earlier than planned as so hot inside). Phone rolls to voicemail. I call 2 more times before reaching management at noon because they are sick with COVID. At around 2 pm get a message asking if permission is ok to enter. I respond yes. Get a message at 4pm that they are fixing it. I hear nothing back but I call at 8:16 PM when I return because even though a little cooler it is still 82 degrees. I am told it was 90 when repaired and will just take awhile to cool down. We stay up until after 2 AM and it is still at 76. Finally on Saturday morning it is down to 74. I was not offered a credit for when the air conditioning was not working. Considering that we had 2 very hot, miserable nights I felt we should have been offered a credit for a least one day as it was way too hot for us to be in the space. I understand it was bad luck that both air conditioner went out and owner sick with COVID but feel we should have been offered a credit at least for one day/night. It was 98 outside and so hot inside plus I am spending time messaging to find out if can be fixed. Was not a relaxing Thursday night or Friday or Friday night.

It was a quiet and relaxing trip! Minutes from downtown, minutes from Walmart, but felt like you were secluded on a lake somewhere out in the country. We enjoyed our time here. Great host!!

Was in town for a wedding in Shreveport. Natchitoches is a beautiful historic town! Beautiful property and sunrise and sunset views were gorgeous! Best sleeping king size mattress in the bedroom too, very comfortable. Already thinking about our next trip to Louisiana! Would definitely stay here again!

Everything was as stated in rental details, quiet, peaceful, close but seems like your far from town.

We really enjoyed this place! So close to downtown but privacy right on the river. Felt like we were in a treehouse right over the water. Looking forward to returning again one day.

This is an amazing property. Great view of the river, very clean house, great outdoor space, and just all around comfortable. Very private and quiet. Can't wait for our next visit.

This girls trip was the best! The porch overlooking the river was just beautiful, the surround sound music for the porch made it just perfect. This owner has thought of everything for your visit, making it easy to stay. Between kitchen basics and a movie collection and blankets galore to snuggle. I already can’t wait to come again as we visit Natchitoches pretty often :)

We loved staying at this cute house on the Cane River. Property was very clean with a wonderful deck to relax on while viewing the Cane River. Bed was very comfortable and house was equipped well. Jennifer the owner was great to deal with. If we visit the area again we would love to stay there again.

Great spot to be on the water. Very nice accommodations, but if you are going to fish, bring your bait with you because there are no bait shops in this town. After getting checked in, we had to drive about 18/miles one way to find a live bait shop. Other than that, the stay was great. We have already recommended it to some friends.

This river front house is on point! We had a wonderful time. The host made sure we had everything we needed to make for the most enjoyable stay possible. With four in our party, we had more than enough room! Highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful stay on the river!

Really enjoyed our stay!

Our 20th anniversary weekend was perfect with this rental. We would rent the “Birds Nest” again.

The property was very nice. Fishing was slow, but I’m sure it’s better during warmer seasons.

The pictures don’t do this home justice!! It’s absolutely gorgeous and everything is there to make your stay perfect. Sitting out on the deck is serene!! This is our second stay here and we will be back again!!!!
