First of all, Mai (the property manager) is wonderful. She checked on us three times to make sure we were enjoying our stay, and when we did have questions, she got right back with us. The house is terrific. Clean, spacious (we had 13 folks in the house and never felt cramped), great AC, and great views. And all the little extras that you need (like coffee maker, Instant Pot, plenty of pots and pans, excellent internet, etc). The bedrooms had plenty of space as well. The bedroom suite with a small kitchenette was very nice. Also had a small refrigerator in case of overflow from the main kitchen fridge. There is also an extra fridge (small) in the kitchen for cans/bottled drinks. The beach is very close and was very clean during the week we went. Vacationers do need to be aware that it is a public beach with vehicles allowed. Saturday was very crowded (lots of folks fishing), but the rest of the days were fine with plenty of space. The outside ground floor was terrific. Plenty of seating for relaxing, and picnic tables for eating outside. And the hot tub was awesome for relaxing after a long day at the beach. PLENTY of beach toys for the kids! And wagons! One other note - it is mentioned that a tent is available for use. But it is getting a little long-in-the-tooth. We did bring our own tent. Overall, this place is fantastic! If you want to go in style and comfort, I highly recommend it. I know the next time we stay in Galveston, we'll be staying here!

We just enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Stavanger beach house! The house is beautiful and we felt like we had more than enough space for our family of 9. I was surprised with how well the kitchen is supplied with pots, pans, small appliances, dishes, etc. While the house is a little outside Galveston, we felt the location was perfect as it was quiet and the beach was beautiful and minimally occupied. Mai and Tom are wonderful hosts and responded promptly to any questions that arose. Would definitely stay there again!

Mai was fantastic about communicating with us and made it very easy to get checked in and answered any questions we had. We had an extended family group with an infant, a 2 year old and 30 something and grandma and grandpa. It is set up great for infants & children. The bunk room is their special place with toys and games. Also small forks. Spoons, plates and cup for smaller children. All kinds of beach toys and boogie boards and wagons and chairs for the beach. Direct access to beach Wow- it makes the beach time great. Beds and furniture are great and very comfortable. Plenty of high quality cookware and dishes- made cooking easy. The family really enjoyed the nugget ice maker on the counter top and large TV to catch a couple of the NCA basketball tournament games. We really enjoyed using the Weber large gas grill- for fish and shrimp as well as burgers and steaks. Overall was a great experience and wonderful place.

All of the family enjoyed our visit at this very beautiful house! Our visit was short and it was so nice that we were able to enjoy each other's company and not have to deal with any issues. Very clean and comfortable stay - the kind of clean that is truly clean and not masked by scents and perfumes. Mai, our host, is very sweet and responsive - I really appreciated her help! All the appliances and amenities worked perfectly and I appreciated that the cookware and plate ware were in such good condition. Thank you!!!

This is a beautiful house with great views and comfortable decks. It has everything you need for a great time. The beds are VERY comfortable, the hot tub was pristine! Chairs and toys for the beach. The ground level is awesome too with a bar, lounge chairs to view the ocean and enjoy the great breeze. I highly recommend it! It's beautiful!

'Call of the Sea' was the perfect beach house for my family of 14. There is ample room for everyone and everything. 4 King size beds which were very comfortabe with amazing bedding. The 'kids' room has 4 twin and 2 trundle beds which accommodated my 6 grand children ages 5 - 12. The kitchen is on the 3rd floor which made initial unloading challenging but offered outstanding views from the balcony and was easy to access for all guest. The table hosted 10 chairs (which have upholstered white seats). We did fine; but it made me a bit nervous with the children. The kitchen island served perfectly as our central food service . Wifi was easily accessible. Bonuses: a dozen beach chairs, a dozen buggy boards, a dozen beach towels, 3 beach wagons, and a 12 X 12 tent. Mai was always responsive to any question and happy to help. We would definitely stay here again.!

Absolutely beautiful property with every possible amenity (except an elevator or dumb-waiter for us old-folks!). The owners were very responsive and super to work with! Highly recommend!!

We stayed this past week and what a week it was! From check in to the owner (Mai) texting me a couple of times to see how things were going to the comfortable beds to the short walk to the beach....all A++. The hot tub was a hit with the kids, fire pit for smores at night, spacious kitchen and large tables to fit all 14 of us, everything was set up to host a large group. The kids loved the bunk room and the video games. Adults enjoyed the patios at night. The house was just about every beach item you would want to take. Another really thing is that you can drive out on the beach in the morning and set up your tent or take the chairs out and then pick them up in the evening. Please pick this place and tell Mai hello!

We had a wonderful time staying in this home for a week while in Galveston. The home was clean and was just as advertised. We appreciated all of the wonderful outdoor spaces and bedrooms. We were also grateful for the beach toys and equipment!

Couldn't have asked for more perfect place for a family gathering. Quiet and very relaxing. Check in was easy and Mai is wonderful to work with. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home right on the beach.

The Stavanger Beach House was perfection. The house was super clean, had more amenities than any other Beach house (wagons, beach toys, beach canopies, etc), and the location to the beach was perfect. The communication with the owner Mai was super clear and she checked in a couple of times through out the stay in case we needed anything. She also let us know about an emergency highway closure that would affect out departure day travel. The house never felt crowded with 14 guests (7 adults and 7 kids). There were enough seats at the table for meals and enough bedrooms. You can a lot of care went into the details of the house, I would recommend this house in a heartbeat. I would also plan to re-visit it. Thank you Mai for a wonderful stay!

When we got there, the windows were dirty, partially obstructing the view of the beautiful beach. When I talked to the property manager about it, I got a response explaining to me why the windows get dirty at the beach, but no solution to the issue other than letting me know that the cleaning service is supposed to clean the windows they can reach. The windows tip in, so I cleaned the main ones myself using a damp rag and squeegee. Made a big difference. I guess at this price I would expect clean windows? Also for future renters, it is three flights of stairs to the main living area in the house. Good to know on arrival and leave dates when you might be taking lots of trips up and down. If you have elderly or physically handicapped people in your group they might need some assistance getting up and down. Other than the above, beautiful house and wonderful stay there.

Our whole family met in Galveston. We had a marvelous time together at the rental. The beds were so comfy, and we loved being right on the beach!!! The weather was perfect, too!! We are already planning our next visit.

The Call of the Sea met all our expectations. It was very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for our family of 10 (5 married couples). Mai was very pleasant and attentive before and during our stay, making sure we were happy with everything. We would definitely rent here again.
