In summary: we've already booked this house for next year! This was our third and best annual trip to Broadkill. The house is fantastic, location perfect and the owner welcoming, accommodating and responsive. Our group of 11 (6 A; 5 K) appreciated having ALL linens, garbage bags, soaps, sand supplies, etc. provided. It really cut down on packing. The kitchen was great. The adults loved the coffee grinder, French press and tea kettle for the mornings and the excellent blender easily handled aioli for grilled lamb kabobs. The convection oven kept the kids supplied with Dino-Nuggets and they enjoyed choosing their favorite colors of plates, cups and utensils. There is only one fridge, so we made a beverage cooler on the deck and bought ice every few days. The beds were comfy and the two older boys loved their own room for TV and occasional down time. Nonie and Pa relaxed on their sunporch for early morning reading with beautiful sunrises. We used chairs, umbrellas, sand toys and the two-person kayak and life jackets. We did not try the hot tub. We hiked the fun, easy Boardwalk Trail in nearby Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. (Do take bug spray.) Prime Hook also has a good little gift shop. When the wind blows from the west, yes, there are days with bugs, but that's why Delaware Bay is full of life -- birds, fish, aquatic creatures. From the sunroom we even watched a turtle lay her eggs. If you're looking for natural beauty, peace and solitude, this place is for you.

This property is well managed, stocked and organized making it very easy to just relax. Taking advantage of its beachfront, the house provides views from all the living areas. It may be an older home but the new appliances and furnishings make it fresh. From 80 yrs to 5.. we all found our spots with plenty of room to spread out. The bay flies were kept at bay by the constant breeze making a full day at the beach very pleasant. It was great to have all the beach equipment at hand we put the provided kayak to good use! It was so nice to be away from the tourist traps and in a natural beach area. The fox trotting along the shoreline at sunset was priceless! Thank you for sharing this lovely home.

Gorgeous home with a great view. We were able to go fishing on the beach and enjoyed a nice weekend getaway.

Beachfront tranquility offers a stunning waterfront retreat with scenic beach surroundings, bright windows and spacious rooms. The house had everything you could need, easily labeled and accessible. This place was exactly as described in the pictures and photos. Our family enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the kids enjoyed time on the beach flying kites, "saving the horseshoe crabs" that were upside down, watching the wildlife, and easy access to the beach. Although remote and set apart in a quiet area, the location allowed us easy access to great restaurants, shopping, and a short drive to Rehoboth Beach. Tess was a terrific host to work with and very responsive day and night! I highly recommend staying at this property if you are visiting the Broadkill Beach area! We hope to definitely be back!

This was the perfect accommodation for our 13 family members spanning four generations. The view and location cannot be topped. The home is so beautiful, spacious, and well laid out. We loved sitting on the deck, kayaking, walking the beach, and enjoying the hot tub. The fully equipped kitchen was icing on the cake. Tess made us feel so welcome and able to relax and enjoy.

You will not find a more perfect place for your beach vacation than Beachfront Tranquility. Tess is incredibly responsive and caring about her guests with great communication and many tips to offer. The house is incredibly well appointed for a large family who enjoys cooking, games, and easy access to the beach. Our littlest 2 year old easily navigated the path to the beach and was able to be very independent in the calm shallow waters of the bay. The kayak and hot tub are big hits with the older boys and the well appointed kitchen with our culinary crew feeding our large group. When you walk through the door of Beachfront Tranquility you see directly through to the ocean - and it's that way from anywhere in the house. Even on gloomy or rainy days, you can sit in virtually any room and still view and enjoy the ocean. We absolutely love this house - and it's owners!

Beautiful, well cared for home with views from virtually every room. Easy walk on a private path to the quiet beach. Lovely and comfortable furnishings. Large enough space for our family of 8 adults and 5 children. Well stocked kitchen. Luxurious and plentiful towels, beach towels and linens. Lots of games, toys for indoor and outdoor play. Tess was easy to reach and responsive to our questions. We look forward to our return.

We enjoyed our stay here! The house has wonderful views of the bay, a nice beach and is well stocked for vacation time - a very well equipped kitchen, beach gear and kayaks, a nice porch for hanging out once the sun passes by around midday. This was our second family vacation at this wonderful spot. We had 4 generations there (6 weeks to 70+) and everyone loved the house, location, and views. The weather didn’t cooperate for a couple of days but even then it was still relaxing with the great views of the water from the house. And it was great having the hot tub available. On the nice days we loved the short walkway to the quiet beach and the use of the kayaks, umbrellas, sand toys, cornhole boards, and nice new beach chairs for everyone. Having all the bath and beach towels and bed linens provided is a bonus. Tess is a great host and very responsive - when I asked if there was an electric griddle available, she ordered one and had it waiting for us in the kitchen when we arrived. Can’t get much more responsive than that. Already planning to come back next year.

Our stay was everything we hoped it would be! The house is immaculate (clean, well cared for, upgraded, and well appointed), but we especially loved the ocean views from every room. The private path to the beach was short and easy to navigate with our four year old. Owner communication leading up to our trip was fantastic and we appreciated the information and recommendations! Beautiful view. Too windy and chilly so couldn’t really enjoy the beach. Had a nice relaxing time with family with just hanging out, relaxing, playing cards and enjoying the view.

Had a great time. The only complaint we have was that the new stove sticks out so that the dishwasher door can't open fully making it difficult to load/unload. Would stay again. Thanks Tess

This is the best beach rental experience we have ever had! The house has breathtaking views of the water from almost every window. We are grew up in California and were amazed by the peacefulness and beauty of this beach that was so private! We enjoyed sitting on the deck with some drinks after a long day at the beach just taking in the view!! The house is well equipped with everything we needed and more. Tess is wonderful, helpful and a joy to rent from!!

This was our fifth stay at this special property and we are already booked for next year. The views, the privacy, no congested beaches or drives in traffic! The house is incredibly friendly for our multi generational family and so well equipped inside and out with kitchen equipment, dishes, cookware, beach toys, chairs and umbrellas. Our packing has easily been cut by 25%! Tess is a dream to work with, friendly, clear communication, extremely responsive and attentive to her guests. It’s always sad to leave, but softened by the anticipation of returning next year!

Stunning, low key family vacation home. It’s beautifully beachy, with gorgeous views of the Delaware Bay. Just walk right out your back door onto a very private beach. The kids (8, 5 and 20 months) loved the freedom and independence of running into the bay, and had new experiences on the kayak and paddle board which were included. It’s a well stocked house in every aspect - kitchen, games, beach equipment. Plenty of room to hang and enjoy the family - our favorite was the sunroom, but the laid back, modern kitchen and spacious decks were close seconds. Tess, the host, is readily available, and supplies you with tons of info on local restaurants and necessities. Definitely indulge in the homemade donuts at the Broadkill Beach Store and Smokin D’z BBQ in Milton.

For us, it was all about the water view and it didn’t disappoint. Tess was always responsive and helpful -- before, during and after our stay.

The property is beautiful, with great views of the water from most rooms, The beach is so easily accessible. Everything was provided, from a well equipped kitchen to beach chairs, beach toys, kayaks, etc. So nice to not have to lug everything from home, worry about a spot on the beach and carrying to everything to the beach. Perfect for family of all ages! Sunrise on the water every day! Beachfront Tranquility earns its name.

Terrific property We had a great time

The house is breathtakingly beach front, as well as being a comfortable family rental, an ideal combination for us. The beds were very comfortable, soft memory foam cushions, with fluffy pillows, sleek sheets, and plenty of blankets and comforters. The upstairs bedrooms are well thought out, with enough comfortable sleeping options for large families or guests. We appreciated that most of the bedrooms don’t have TVs, which allowed us all to gather together in the living room in the evenings to watch movies. It was so helpful to have towels and beach towels provided, as well as beach chairs and umbrellas. The less you have to pack for vacation, the better. The main floor is open and bright, with gorgeous views from any position. We especially loved sunrises from the sunroom and the ability to relax in there in the late afternoon, without being disturbed by the tv in the living room. The living room has a large tv and enough seating for our entire family to enjoy evening movies together. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, with labels on the cabinets to let us know where we can find everything. The main deck has supportive Adirondack style chairs, including taller ones that give a great view over the deck railing and are good for older family members who might have trouble getting out of the regular style. We had our 14 month old great grandson with us, and we appreciated how toddler proof the deck was. The railings were very sturdy and the gates closed to block off the stairways to the beach and driveway. The beach: close, secluded, quiet, small dune walk, calm surf, soft sand. AMAZING! We loved using the kayak and trying paddle boarding for the first time. There were also nice cornhole boards that we had fun playing on the beach. We enjoyed this house so much that we are already discussing booking next year.

Our family had such an incredible time in Tess’s beautiful home! The house was clean upon arrival. There was so much space to spread out and was perfect for our family of 6. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and having all linens and towels included was amazing! (Saved so much space in our vehicle!) We absolutely plan to stay here again! My family and I enjoyed staying steps away from the water. The beach has small, gentle waves and is not crowded. The house is well stocked and has wonderful views. The owners are helpful and friendly.

I cannot express how wonderful and relaxing this property was for my family and friends. I wouldn’t change a thing. The house is well kept, clean and has the most breathtaking views of the water! The entire back of the house has views of the water in every room! The kitchen is open, large and updated. The beds are comfortable and there are enough bedrooms for large families/friends. This is my families favorite place to stay for many reasons: the clean house, great views, secluded beach just for the people on that street, great and easy communication with the owner and great updated amenities. I wouldn’t want to stay at any other place other than this because I couldn’t ask for a more relaxing home to spend time with my family/friends.

We absolutely loved staying at this house. First of all, it's RIGHT ON THE BEACH. And not a super crowded beach like Rohobeth or Bethany. The beach is much less crowded, almost private, and peaceful. You can even make a fire pit at night. The house is beautiful and extremely clean and well maintained. Lots of beach houses have uncomfortable beds, but this place was super comfortable in all bedrooms. Great kitchen for cooking up big group meals (plus a grill). The views are amazing too with great sunrises and sunsets. Porches and little alcoves on both stories. Did I mention the hot tub? The owners are fantastic - ultra responsive and friendly. Highly recommended.
