The location was unbelievable... walkable restaurants, surfing, beach, shops, and parks. There were 4 of us here and found the living room and kitchen sizable for all of us comfortably. The kitchen was nice and had all the basics except dishwasher (and not enough silverware). The master bedroom was a little small but the second bedroom was good. There were plenty of towels and beach chairs to enjoy watching the surfers. Overall, I would recommend this unit and would come again.

Took my son to visit his sister at UCSC to see if it would be a good fit for him. The house was perfectly located for beach days and downtown walking ventures while still being quiet. We had a lot of fun watching otters, dolphins and sea lions.

Location was perfect for our 3 day weekend stay. Easy, but steep, walk to wharf and boardwalk. The house was clean and comfortable. Twin beds were a bit noisy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Property was great! Great location and easily walkable to the beach. You can hear the sea lions from the house, which was really cool.

It was a perfect location for what we wanted to do in Santa Cruz, which included going to the Boardwalk and the beach. The beds were comfortable and their was plenty of space in the kitchen for cooking and eating. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt comfortable letting our kids ride their bikes around the block, which they did over and over again. Check in and out was also a breeze. However, we did notice some issues. The kitchen cupboards were pretty dusty. There were dust rings around some of the glassware. There was also no storage in the kitchen for food, such as an empty drawer or cupboard. The ice machine in the fridge did not work either. The inside of the medicine cabinet in the bathroom had not been cleaned. One of the bedroom doors stuck making opening it or closing it very difficult. Even with all the kinks, the home served its purpose and we enjoyed our stay.

Small but comfortable place, amazing location. Well appointed. Our one (but big) complaint was that there was a STRONG smell of ant/insect spray (e.g., Raid) in the house which was kind of disconcerting and also gave a couple of us pretty bad headaches. We didn't actually see any bugs while there, so didn't think it was worth it to call property manager - not sure what they could have done. They did have an air purifier running when we arrived and we just kept all the windows open.

Important Note: Nobody listed on the reviews that the garage is extremely small. We could barely fit our midsize SUV in and only be able to get out on the drivers door. This is a duplex, with a very small drive way and no parking on the street. The front of the house is lacking on curb appeal for sure The backyard is not very nice very brown and ungroomed. But fine for the dogs. The good things are ; IT does have a fairly large kitchen and dining room are. Also, the living room furniture is comfortable and better than the photos. The bathroom is very tiny! The master bedroom is small, but comfortable and decorated nice. Overall, the decor is pretty good. The second room has two twins that felt more like cots on wheels. Probably OK for children ( I am 5’-9”and my feet hung over the end.) So overall, the place was clean and suited our needs as we weren’t there very much. But definitely could use a little TLC.

Perfect long weekend. This place was just far enough from the Boardwalk crowds and traffic and yet close enough to walk with the family (I usually have the whiniest 6 and 9 year old girls that hate walking but I didn’t hear a single complaint they just talked about how much fun the beach and boardwalk were they whole way back :-) ). The place was perfect with a big backyard, kitchen, bedrooms, and living room. We’ll be returning next year for sure. Thank you!

It was a nice little house at the perfect spot to enjoy all of Santa Cruz! I would definitely stay there again!

Like the house but but you got Too hot at night The refrigerator was making a lot of Noise The bed'squeak it was hard to sleep.

We booked a last minute trip for spring break and were lucky to find this place. Before we arrived we were notified that three kitchen sink was draining slowly so Diana had called a plumber to come the same day. The plumber quickly fixed the sink and we didn't encounter any other issues with the property. We decided to stay an extra night because we felt like we needed more time to enjoy the beach and Diana was able to quickly add the night to our stay! Just a note if you have young kids- the tub doesn't have a plug so you'll have to shower, but that wasn't a big deal for us. Great water pressure! The beds were comfortable. We were able to walk to the beach and boardwalk. Great weather and location made for an easy trip! We would definitely stay again.

Had a great time. Appreciated that the beach with walking path just steps away. The home is clean and kitchen well equipped. Got lucky with the weather and enjoyed being out and about in Santa Cruz with our little pups; so great to get to travel with them!

So close to the beach! Blanket’s were amazing definitely didn’t need the heater on with blankets like those. Would definitely recommend to other people to stay here. Shower pressure was a little lower than I’m used to. But definitely enjoyed our stay there. 😉🤙

Amazing location and you won’t find a similar option anywhere near this price range so it’s easy to overlook some of the downsides. Other reviews noted it was dark and the bathroom is need of some love. This is true but we had no issues settling in and feeling comfortable. The unit had everything we needed and we were outside exploring more than not. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something that you can walk to everything and reasonable priced for what you get.

Nice property near the beach

Great location, quiet, great backyard for dogs(totally fenced in). Easy to communicate with host! I would definitely stay again and again!

The location can’t be beat but the property itself is in need of updating. All of the beds were caved in and made our backs hurt- the mattresses need to be replaced. The bedroom door to the queen bed and the bathroom door are unable to close or lock which was uncomfortable for my husband and my mom to navigate. The bathroom is in dire need of renovation- the tub looks to be extremely old and in bad shape. We were planning on giving the kids a bath during our stay but had to opt out since the tub is rusting and stained- the faucet almost pulled out completely when trying to start the shower which sounded like it was about to explode wnd shook while in use. The WiFi connection wasn’t great and we had to use our hotspot on our phones to have the kids use our iPad to watch a show. The kitchen was okay and had everything we needed to do some light cooking but the cleanliness could be improved- for example my husband went to make coffee and the coffee pot was never cleaned out from the previous guests, there was food on some silverware, etc. Overall, this property’s location can’t be beat as it’s close to the boardwalk, the beach, and all Santa Cruz has to offer but it is pretty run down.

Comfortable house in a great location!

This rental was a great option for our 6 guests. I was mainly concerned about safety since we are from Oregon and never been to santa cruz. Our 4 teens wanted to explore and this was a perfect location! The neighborhood was great, upscale close to a lookout (1 block) but still within walking distance to the boardwalk.( 5 blocks? Honestly you may want to drive though if you easily get tired since the entrance is actually on the opposite side of the actual boardwalk) however unless you stay in the hotel on the actual beach, id say this is the closest property possible. The unit is technically a duplex, however it feels roomy like a house. It was stocked with utensils to cook full meals with calphon pans on a new gas stove, owner provided a starter pack of toiletries / necessities and the kids found boardgames as well. Backyard is fully enclosed which is great for pets, with gate access to a faucet in back for cleaning off the sand of your pets the kids etc before entering which was a life saver since our pup chose to swim one of the days lol. 2 full bedrooms with 3 beds (1 queen, 2 twins) and the couch in the living room as well folds out into a bed. ( tip, add the couch cushions under the matress in the living room for extra cushion. Makes such a difference) all beds were standard comfort with cozy duvets and had all the needed linens+. Extra towels and beach towels came in very handy with all the kids and it was nice to have a washer/dryer combo that worked well too. Also beach chairs and a umbrella in garage. The night we arrived, unfortunately we came in extremely late on a hot day. The owner was super sweet to run over before we arrived to open windows and set up fans for us. They were awesome with communication and answered us almost immediately on anything we needed. Throughout the trip we were never contacted or bothered and were able to enjoy our stay without any issues. Overall id rate this stay a 9.5/10 with only 1 complaint. The neighbors next door were getting a new roof so we were woke up daily just before 8 to banging the entire trip. But we totally understand that is completely out of the host hands of course. If your looking for a nice getaway in a safe location, close to the fun, stocked well, pet-friendly(but clean), family-friendly w/BBQ, This is a must! Overall this was a great spot for my family to enjoy a few days vacation in Santa Cruz. We were literally 10 min walk to downtown Santa Cruz & the beach and boardwalk. Easy walk to grab coffee and or breakfast in the mornings... Close to everything. House great had good sized rooms, decent beds for my wife and I and our 2 small kids had a separate room for themselves. There was a backyard with outdoor table but we never used it and there was washing machine/dryer that came in handy. The only negative I would say for the summer was the fact that there was no AC, and if the windows are closed it can get hot in there.. but after realizing it wasn't the AC not working, but there was no AC, i opened a few windows and it was fine. Very low noise level in the neighborhood. Would stay here again. Hosts Diana were very responsive to us prior to arriving and with the few questions we had.
