We loved it. Very clean. Stocked with everything you need. We didn’t need to bring anything but clothes. Nice new pier. Garage with TV and every beach game you can think of. We were sad to leave. Will stay again.

Loved the new dock, all set up for fishing or just lounging. We thought there would be no way to pry the fishermen in our group off the dock. Turns out a thunderstorm with intense lightning got them off expeditiously! Overall, we had a great time in the water, on the dock, and in the house itself. The house is well stocked, and there are lots of extras to make the stay special.

The property itself, the location, and the organization alone were amazing! This was a graduation celebration trip for graduating with my doctorate and thanking our parents for all they do for us throughout the year. My husband, myself, our two boys (8 & 5), my mom, and my father and mother in-law were all in attendance. My only complaint is that it went by too fast! Thank you again! Lena

This was our second time staying at semi- retired! It’s wonderful and exceptionally perfect for small children since the water is calm and beach is right there! Mark is very quick to respond if you have a question, request or concern. Which is always appreciated!

We had an amazing week staying at Semi-retired beach house! The kids and teens didn’t even want to go to the gulf side to swim because they loved the private beach in the backyard. And when we did go to the gulf side it was an easy walk to get there. The new private fishing pier in the back was their favorite place to hang out. It rained one day while we were there but they still had plenty to do in the garage (ping pong, darts, etc). The house was beautiful. We do a beach vacation every year and this was my favorite house that we’ve stayed at. Everything you could possibly need to relax or play is included.

10/10 LOVED everything about our stay! The home is amazing. Hands down the best property we have booked as a family. We truly were all able to relax and enjoy our time together without having to worry about a thing. Mark was very responsive and the neighbors were all so friendly. The house and location are great. We love the backyard beach. The pier was a nice addition this year (this is our 2nd time staying in this house, 4th time to Navarre Beach in past 6 years). The water is fairly shallow even at the end of the pier, so the kids spent some time jumping from the end of it into the water. We saw dolphins almost every day. There was an osprey flying around, too. A group of pelicans would fly low across the water every few days. The Gulf Breeze Zoo is 20 or 30 minutes away. House is well upgraded and appointed. Cactus Flower is a good CaliMex restaurant. You can walk to the Gulf side in less than 10 minutes. The Navarre Beach Pier is a 5 minute car ride away ($1 fee to walk to the end of it). We saw a nice sunset at the end of the pier one day. We will definitely return in the future.

This is the perfect beach house! Directly on a private beach with beautiful sand and a new pier. The house it immaculate and everything works. The owner, Mark, made everything easy and was very responsive. I absolutely recommend this house and we will be back for sure!

We loved our stay at Mark and Sissy’s place! This was our second year in a row for spring break. Mark and Sissy go above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable. A highlight of the week was sipping our morning coffee on the back deck and watching Dolphins play between the docks. We will definitely be back. Thank you Mark and Sissy! 😍

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and well-appointed home! It is VERY clean and well stocked with everything you may need. The location is perfect - white sandy beach and ocean right out the back door! Mark and Sissy are great to work with - attentive and very helpful. We cannot wait to book again!

This home is very nice and welcoming. Plenty of extras that most places charge extra for or do not provide at all. If you decide to wander and explore away from the home there is plenty of places to visit. No regrets renting this home. The owners are extremely pleasant and welcoming. They will go above and beyond to make sure you are not just happy but excited for your stay.

The house is in the perfect location! Sand and water are right out your back door and the sunsets are amazing. Loved all the extras that are included such as the kayaks, bikes and paddle board. We loved our stay here and would definitely return!

Our experience with Mark's home was start to finish top-notch. The home is just stunning, and the location is phenomenal. Mark's communication was excellent throughout. We stay in a LOT of vacation rentals, and this was definitely in the top 1%. Wouldn't hesitate to return!

Where to start?! I’ve already recommended this place to a friend. She saw my pictures and is already interested in booking. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Really all we needed to bring was clothes, food, sunscreen! The owners went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we had everything we needed to have fun and to live in their home for a week! We’ve already discussed booking for next year. We could see this place an annual trip for our family. Beyond pleased!!!!! We’ve talked non stop about this trip. It went by so fast. It felt like paradise but home at the same time.

Pictures do not begin to do this property justice. We were in awe of the beautiful view FROM EVERY room in this immaculate house. (My favorite is when you come down the stairs in the morning, oh my heart...) I have stayed several home rentals and this one takes the cake. You really do feel like you are staying at a friend's beach house. The neighbors on one side also rent out their home, so you meet fellow travelers, and on the other side is a very friendly full-time resident who doesn't seem to mind the rentals one bit. It's quiet and cozy and perfect. I am very type A and almost every single thing I thought of, they already had. "Oh I wish I had a....ah it's right here..." happened so many times on this trip. The amount of toys kept our family busy and content the entire trip. Everything is spotless and high quality. I could go on and on about this place but it's been said so many times. My only nitpicking request would be a place for more food storage -- we had a family of 7 and had to keep all the shelf-stable food out on the counter due to lack of storage. Mark & Sissy have these many 5 stars for a reason....GO! We can't wait to visit again!

We are getting ready to leave after a week at this amazing house. The weather was a little less than perfect and this house was perfect! There were so many activities that kept my 4 kids entertained. The bikes were so fun to have to take a ride down to the national seashore. We kayaked to see the sunrise and watched the sunset from the master bedroom balcony. The kitchen is perfect - they have everything you need to make beautiful meals. I can’t say enough about how much care the owners have put into the details of this home. We had a great time at the sound … it was great for my older kids but would’ve been perfect when they little too. Oh dolphins and kayaking magical experience! The details truly make for a special vacation. The owners were so accommodating when we arrived in town as well thanks you ! Book this place you will not regret it ! We also went to where ya at times it’s a fantastic place for lunch !

This home is beautiful, exceptionally clean, fully stocked with anything you could imagine needing. The owner was easy to reach and willing to help with anything. You only need to pack your clothes, beach towels, and grab some groceries because everything else is there ready for you. We will most definitely book this home again. The sound side location is ideal for families with young children, very calm, clear waters.

This house was beautiful!!! If I could give I more than 5 stars I would! They make you feel at home in their home. Not many rentals can accomplish that, but they did. The best thing was the private beach! It was unbelievable!! We will definitely be going back! I’m ruined from going anywhere else!!!

Just had another wonderful stay at Mark and Sissy’s Semi-Retired beach house. This was our second time here with family - and it was every bit as wonderful as our first stay. The home is in a fantastic location directly on Santa Rosa sound, has plenty of beach “toys” for adults and children, and is clean and modern. Most importantly, Mark and Sissy are wonderful hosts. They’re responsive, courteous and professional. It’s obvious they care about their guests having a memorable stay at Semi Retired!

We loved our stay at the Semi-Retired Beach House! Our family of 6 Adults and 2 small children stayed for a week and we wish we could have stayed longer! The house was incredibly clean and very well stocked with items that most rentals wouldn’t include like full size name brand body wash, shampoo and conditioner, zip lock bags, trash bags ect. We typically stay of the Gulf side and wondered if staying on the Sound would be as fun…. But this was just perfect! Being able to walk right out from the deck and lower patio onto the white sand just steps away from the water was amazing! The property was so peaceful, and the water was so calm on non rainy days. This location was perfect for my 3 year old niece and 1.5 yr old nephew to play in the sand and water. We enjoyed the Paddle Board (mine and my father’s first time ever!) and the Kayaks! We even had dolphins swim right by us in the Kayaks! They were so close that we could hear them breathing! Such A wonderful memory! You can tell that Mark and Sissy want their guests to feel at home here! We can’t wait to come back!

Searching for a vacation rental is daunting: we want the right space and everyone to be happy. We went out on a limb this year for 2 reasons. 1. We usually do not go the house route and 2. We usually stay on the ocean. Well...my goodness did we make the right choice. Booking, communication, the house, the amenities!!! Mark and Sissy have put a tremendous amount of thought into their home. We needed for 'nothing'. Some days we 'forgot' to leave. Folks, the family time and bonding that is able to be had here is unforgettable. We used all of the fun stuff: pingpong, jenga, cornhole, bikes, kayaks, fishing. I could go on and on. We walked to the ocean in the evening, but really, our piece of paradise was all that we needed. We made a few trips to some favorite restaurants. Also, do not miss the turtle conservatory and the pier. Thank you for the hospitality! Perfect memories were definitely made! P.S. DOLPHINS DURING MY MORNING COFFEE EVERY SINGLE DAY!

We have been staying on Navarre Beach for about 15 years and semi retired is definitely the best place we have stayed at! Mark and Sissy treat you like a guest and go above and beyond providing you with both relaxation and entertainment. The house is located in a friendly neighborhood. We had a small issue with our rental car and the next door neighbor, Tom was so friendly and helped us out. I believe Mark and Sissy truly want you to enjoy your stay and will go out of their way to make sure you do! You will not be disappointed staying at semi retired!!!!

Great experience!

This was our 6th or 7th annual stay at Semi-Retired and it’s become our very favorite vacation spot. The house is spotless and perfectly set up for a family; there are even lots of rainy-day activities and cozy spots for downtime. The garage is full of toys for adults and kids alike! But the water and the views are the selling points; the clean, white sand and the shallow water are perfect for kids. You don’t have to worry about riptides or rough waves or jellyfish or other unpleasant critters. The water depth slowly increases and some days you can wade out 100’ before it gets over anyone’s head. Over the summers our son (now 9) has learned to swim here and it’s his favorite place to play. The porch is the most special place! The sunset views are the absolute best you’ll find, anywhere. There is a fan with a mister that lowers the temps to a very comfortable feel so even on the hottest days you’ll be happy on the porch. We travel with a Bluetooth speaker and take it to the porch table and listen to “yacht rock” while we have drinks and watch the sunset. All in all, this place is perfect for families. It’s so well appointed and homey that you he past several years we’ve not even ventured across the road to go to the gulf. There’s no need for the gulf when the Santa Rosa Sound is calm, warm, quiet, and provides such incredible views.

The property is beautiful and spotless. Really appreciated the little touches the owners provide (soaps, shampoos, etc), and the owners promptly answered any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun family vacation!

We love this house/property, as evidenced by the fact this was our third visit. Mark and Sissy know how to do it right; amenities, toys, games, kayaks, paddleboard, ping pong table to name a few. The TVs are great and the view and beach top it all off. We rarely leave the property once we get settled in. Already looking forward to next summer!

The location and the private beach on the bay were all perfect. The house is comfortable and exceptionally well stocked for a rental. Everything was great.

This was our second year staying in this house. My only wish is that we could stay longer! My girls- 4 and 8- absolutely love the sound side. The house is stocked with everything you could want! We rent a golf cart, as well, for quick trips to the gulf side and visits to the pier. We can’t wait for next year!
