Great time. Neville and the staff took care of the place and us. House was as advertised. Plenty of room for 12 of us. Beach steps from the house. Good location, 15 minutes from the airport. Only downside - toilets need the mechanisms changed as they were extremely slow in filling up between flushes. Highly recommend this place!

The villa management was in contact with us early, and was very responsive to our every question, or need, before and during our stay. Neville (aka Yellow) was wonderfully attentive and responsible throughout. We had a wonderful time. The villa provided restful comfort, and an easy place from which to explore the island.

Our group of travel buddies stayed here in late February 2023 and it was fantastic. The home is a little older, but was well appointed and there was plenty of room for the 8 of us. Typically we would have 10, and this villa would have easily accommodated a few more people. The kitchen was setup well and all we really needed was to bring was our food and beverages. All the furnishings in the villa are nice quality and nothing feels cheap. There are 5 bedrooms in the main house, each themed off of one character from "Steel Magnolias", and one larger bedroom that is in a separate building overlooking the very large pool deck. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom/shower and they were clean and well appointed. The grounds were very well taken care of and the caretaker Neville was available to take care of any issues that might arise. We did have a couple of very minor things pop up (they are typical on St. Martin), but Neville got them resolved immediately. For music fans, the villa has a nice receiver that can play music both inside and outside in the pool area. One consideration though - if you plan to use your own source, suggest you bring old school "audio-in" cables because the system doesn't support bluetooth connectivity. A minor issue to be sure, but good luck finding audio cables on the island! The entire property is surrounded by a fairly high wall, and there is an electronic gate that allows access to both the "neighborhood" and property itself. They weren't kidding when they said the villa is "steps" from the beach - it really is. Once you walk out the gate, you're maybe ~150 steps from beach. Baie Rouge is a smaller, pretty quiet beach that doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but the villa has plenty of chairs/beach towels, etc. The surf here can be a little rough so those bringing little children should use caution. Not to fear however because there are tons of other beaches that are a very quick drive away. Renting a car (or 2) is definitely a good idea. The location makes it easy to get to Marigot, Grand Case or the Mullet / Maho area pretty easily. Overall, this property is exactly as described and our group wouldn't hesitate to book it again in the future.

A family trip to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday went flawlessly thanks to finding this incredible property and property mgmt team. Clear and timely email communication with Mark, the owner, from the start eased any worries I had about choosing this property and organizing the trip for my family of 9 adults and 3 kids (ranging in ages from 80yo to 3yo). The place is really clean and gorgeous inside and out plus it has the homey, cozy vibe that immediately makes you feel at home. The picturesque beach is a few steps out the back gate, the pool is splendid with incredible views and the Terres Basses location can't be beat (groceries, gas, downtown area is just down the road...5-10min to any essentials things you'd need). Neville, the property manager and the housekeeping team were awesome and available for whatever we needed. Truly unforgettable vacation. Cannot recommend this rental enough to anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion with loved ones in a gorgeous location and be taken care of by knowledgable, friendly and very professional staff. The villa was beautiful with a great pool, great views and very near a wonderful beach. However there were some glitches as it is an older home.

The owner was unresponsive on critical issues. His listed phone number was wrong, and he didn't answer the phone from the very kind property caretaker. Issues included: no electricity for 2 1/2 days-no water- stove-AC-pool-washer-dryer. Owner wanted to blame electric company but no other properties in the area were out of electricity. His best excuse was to insult the family saying we don't understand island life. The property caretake was the highlight of the trip. His tireless work to help us through 2 1/2 days of no electricity was commendable. Be warned.

We had a terrific time at the villa with 16 people- adult and teenagers. There was plenty of space for us. The pool and outside area was our favorite. Great to be able to walk to the beach!

Great location on the French side. I've stayed in several villas on St. Martin and this is the best one yet. Mark is readily accessible and responsive and the staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Don't hesitate to book this place. It's everything as described and more.

This house sits in the perfect spot. Right next to Baie Rouge and not too far from anything. (Except Oyster pond.) So much space, but the best is the outdoor space. There's a fabulous pool with an outdoor living room and dining room.

We had a group of 16 staying at the property. We found the location to be ideal on the island. Neville (Yellow) our main contact at the house was fantastic on helping us with activities and info. The house has great access to Baie Rouge and we felt more than comfortable on letting our group of 14yr old girls venture there together. The proximity to Marigot & Cupecoy area was ideal. The house is an older house with character, but benefits of a covered patio area, pool and location out-wayed any issues. We used all seven bedrooms and worked perfect for our group of 14yr olds and 16 yr olds to have their own separate units. We had 5 families that stayed and all said they would return which says alot. BTY Mullet bay was by far our favorite beach. Food prices are so cheap as compared to St John/St Thomas - both in grocery stores and restaurants. We went to a small bakery (julie's) every morning for croissants by the university - there is a great sushi place next door(yami's) and Fat Tony's across the road was a great little stop also. There is a small market just down the road that has most everything and there is a more specialty market in Cupecoy that had more gluten free items that we do at our local store. We look forward to making another trip in the near future.

Is much nicer than the photos make it seem. Beautiful villa with a large pool, great views, and steps from the beach. It can be confusing based on the listing to tell how many bedrooms there are. There are five bedrooms in the main house and then a large stand-alone master bedroom by the pool. The “optional” 7th bedroom mentioned in the listing isn’t ready yet. The daily maid service is great and cleans the public areas of the villa. It’s for a few hours each morning. Keep that in mind though if anyone in your group is uncomfortable having strangers present in the villa or if you want complete privacy. Note that this is in a residential area. There’s a restaurant or two that are within long walking distance, but I’d recommend having some type of transportation. Overall it was a great stay! The property manager was easy to talk to and we had an amazing time.

Wonderful pool. Close to the beach. Good spaces to gather. Wonderful views. Our group could have used the 7th bedroom which we expected but was not available. Lovely home but might need some TLC. That said, we were comfortable and had a marvelous time. The staff was friendly and helpful.

When we arrived at the Steel Magnolia Villa I was surprised that it was actually nicer than the photos and descriptions online. This property has privacy and a fantastic and secure location right next to one of the best small beaches on the island - Baie Rouge. The beds were very comfortable, each room is named after a character from the Steel Magnolia’s movie. The Villa definitely had Caribbean character which is why I love VRBO! The pool area was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the views of Simpson Bay were awesome. We had no problems bopping around the entire island from the Villa. Neville was very helpful and we enjoyed talking with him! Thank you Mark for sharing your beautiful Villa with our family of 8.

Our group of 8 recently spent a wonderful week at Villa Steel Magnolias. The property was better than described and Mark and Nevil were great. The house was well equipped, clean and the perfect location. Our party had plenty of room to spread out with the option of both pool side and beach front without having to get in a car. We have rented several homes on the island before, but this was by far the most comfortable for a large party! Thanks!

We were a group of 10 ladies who travel together annually. We were a little apprehensive when we booked this property because of the lack of reviews available. Mark assured us that was because the property wasn't available for a long time post Irma, so we went ahead and booked. WOW!! We were beyond pleased with this property. It was fabulous from the time we drove through the gate until 2 weeks later when we left. Not one of us had a complaint at any time. The bedrooms are huge and beautifully decorated. Each bedroom has it's own beautiful ensuite bathroom. There isn't anything we wanted for.The kitchen is big enough for all 10 of us to cook, clean and gather in there without issue. There are 2 full fridges that came in very handy in holding food and drink for 10. There is a washer and dryer in the adjoining room off the kitchen that got lots of use and worked perfectly. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils. There was a drip coffee maker, a keurig and a kettle. There wasn't anything we wished had been there but wasn't. The living room and dining room were beautiful. The air-conditioning was completely adequate in keeping us cool. Each room had their own controls. Some remotes were missing but we just passed the remotes around and all was good.The outdoor living space was very well used with a perfect amount of seating for 10. We spent a lot of time gathered out there very comfortably. The pool is gorgeous and the seating/lounges around the pool for sunbathing were very comfortable and in great shape. Everything looked brand new!We honestly cannot say enough about this property. We all wanted to stay forever! We did have a couple of very small issues that were looked after immediately after talking to Neville about them. Neville is SUCH a nice guy and obviously cares about this property and the owners. He spoke so highly of them. He did whatever he could to make our stay a great one, and definitely went above and beyond. He's a definite asset to the property. I'm sure I left some things out, but rest assured they were great too. We had zero complaints! Great Job Mark, Brian and Neville!! We will be back!
