This was such a great stay! The property is beautiful. You know you've arrived someplace special right away: the long driveway winds through a lovely little wood with a stream and delivers you to the front door of the lodge. The lodge is spectacular. Comfortable and spacious with a fabulous kitchen and great beds. Our hosts were so thoughtful - they checked in to make sure our visit was going well, left us a welcome basket with goodies to celebrate our daughter's graduation, and accommodated our 8:45 pm arrival time with such generosity (thank you Karo!). We enjoyed the fire pit just steps from the front door, the welcoming front porch, and particularly loved our twilight walk up to the meadow with it's sweeping views of pasture and sky. There were visits from deer who bedded down for the night in the ferns just steps away from the house and a plump woodchuck in the field along the driveway. Mourning doves and all sorts of birds provided birdsong. Coyotes sang at night. The whole weekend felt restful and magical. Highly recommend.

Everyone in our group was in awe of the beautiful lodge! We made good use of the spacious and well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed gathering around the toasty fireplace. We had one small request during our stay and it was addressed immediately. Wish we could have stayed longer!

I rented the lodge for my birthday weekend so I could spend time with my kids & grandkids (8 adults & 6 kids) without anyone having to host. It was my best birthday ever!!!!! Magical time!!!! Plenty of space, awesome kitchen, beautiful well appointed lodge, and lots of land to explore. Hosts were super attentive and super chill which I appreciated ( it really took the worry out of clean up & check out. ). Everyone agreed that we should make this an annual event!

The home and property are awesome! Huge, well - equipped kitchen, plenty of hot water and fresh towels, comfortable beds, and lots of options for dining and game space! Absolutely perfect for our family gathering. Bonus of having Steve as such a helpful, accommodating owner- always nearby to help and answer questions.

I don’t even know where to begin. This place was AMAZING. We had 15 close family members stay with us for a baby shower. There was plenty of room for everyone and house had everything you could imagine. All of the kitchen drawers were labeled and organized nicely. There are numerous windows throughout the house that brought in natural sunlight. The porch was amazing and the fire pit is right out front. The property itself was gorgeous. I can only imagine how perfect a wedding would be there. Truly remarkable! We’re already thinking about another girls weekend getaway in the future. The hosts were accommodating and the communication was outstanding.

This property was perfect for 12 guys in their mid 30's looking for a chill, relaxing bachelor party. Great Kitchen, tons of eating space, plenty of room for sleeping, and great outdoor space. The hosts were wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend this property.

We had a group of 16 in the area for a golf event. The cabin was beautiful and spotless upon arrival. The hosts were always available and extremely helpful with all of our questions.

The cabin was spacious and was surrounded by trees and secluded from other neighbors however it appeared there were tenants residing on top of a three car garage which was directly next to the cabin. The cabin is on a hill and unfortunately there wasn't a flat lawn to set up a volleyball net. The gas grill provided was great, but the grill needed some cleaning. The gas lines inside the grill was dirty and the fire was slow as it appeared the holes for the gas was plugged. The cabin was clean! Although it was spacious, I wish the owner would let guests have access to the basement! I would rent again!

Tons of gratitude for everything revolving around our stay at this huge, cozy cabin. Our spring break had been scheduled in sunny San Diego but had to be cancelled last minute because of the COVID19 pandemic. Prevailing Winds Lodge to the rescue! Our family of 6 + 5 nights with the amenities of this property = lifelong memories. The layout of the cabin inspired camaraderie and conversation. There was ample room for our group to simultaneously have a 1,000 piece puzzle working on half of the dining room table, an epic shuffleboard tournament upstairs, and plenty of kitchen space for all three of our daughters to execute the ‘Chopped Challenge’ we set up for them in the kitchen. With 5 bedrooms, there was also plenty of opportunity to take time to yourself for reading and rest. ...and that was just inside the cabin... The fresh air and forty acres surrounding this gem are not to be overlooked. This is solitude and serenity, quiet and seclusion. Kidddos running free and making up games, walks and talks, time to quiet your mind next to a babbling brook, and some good ol’ creek stomping were some of the highlights. It all felt a million miles away from the everyday norms we are accustomed to. On top of it all, our hosts were pleasant, accommodating and instantly responsive - many, many thanks! What a great trip.

Every year my family (sisters, parents, all of our children) stay at a home/cabin for family time. This was one of the nicest places we have rented. It has amazing atmosphere. It is big enough for everyone to have their own space but still has that log cabin cozy feel to it. The owner was also very responsive and cared about how we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

PWL is an awesome spot for large groups on beautiful property. Upon arrival I was slack jawed. The place was even bigger than expected and it was so much fun to host a bachelorette with 13 women. Kora welcomed me and had a nice warm fire started, such a sweet gesture. Everything was very clean and well kept. The main area was perfect to gather everyone comfortably and the numerous blankets were perfect to get cozy. The beds and pillows were great. The sinks outside of the bathrooms were nice to keep the flow going of 13 women getting ready for a night out. The kitchen was so easy to navigate with everything labeled and perfect to have breakfast, lunch and snacks out for everyone to graze. We explored the property and hiked around the grounds, very beautiful even in late winter. Steve was so attentive and helpful with resources for transportation and suggesting places to visit and eat. All of the women expressed interest in coming back and using it for future gatherings. Check out was quick and easy. We made wonderful memories celebrating the bride-to-be and had such a great experience. Thank you Steve, Jen and Kora!

Fantastic property with plenty of room for a large get together. Unbelievable kitchen with all you need for a large family meal. Attentive owners who communicate very well.

This property was phenomenal. Everything was clean and easy to find. There should be no hesitation if you're thinking of renting this place. The best part though was the hosts. Steve was so communicative. While we were there we got about 4 inches of snow and I was concerned about getting down the driveway and I texted Steve. He assured me they would have someone plow, and sure enough a few hours later a plow came and cleaned up the driveway. We also were looking to order in some food and he had plenty of recommendations. All around this was a 5 star experience and I can't wait to come book another stay.

Need a beautiful retreat for family reunion? Prevailing Winds has lots of things to do inside in the rain and lots of room to throw a football around when sunny. Homey kitchen for early morning coffee conversations while young ones sleep and family cooking fun too!

We rented this beautiful place for my sons bachelor party weekend. We arrived Friday evening and was amazed by the place. Steve was very helpful with everything and offered helpful suggestions for the game day experience. We hated to leave for the Purdue-Wisconsin football game because the place was just awesome. I hope to get back up in this area again and I will for sure try to rent this place again. Thanks again Steve and Jen

This property is beautiful!!! The owner is so very helpful and willing to make your stay the best possible. Steve gave us great advise for going into Madison, and even tried assisting us to get a parking pass to the event we were attending. Highly recommend this property, our group had a great time and we were in a gorgeous setting and had everything we needed.
