Fantastic home in a very upscale and quiet neighborhood! This home has everything you need for a very enjoyable stay in San Diego, highly recommend!

My family and I stayed here for a wedding in October. We were so so happy with the house! Our host was so communicative and kind every step of the way. The house is located in a very safe, beautiful and walkable area. We walked to dinner spots, coffee and drinks. It’s close to anything you need and downtown too!! The house was spacious, beds were comfortable and everything was spotless and clean. I have no bad things to stay about this place! I’m so happy, thank you for hosting us

We visited our daughter in San Diego and LOVED our stay here! There were five of us total staying here so the four bedrooms were perfect. The beds were all very comfortable and the bathrooms were designed well. We enjoyed the hot tub once or twice a day! The yard has numerous games and great seating. We bbq'd one night! The neighborhood is quiet. A flock of red cheeked parakeets flew over the yard one morning and lots of Annas Hummingbirds were busy daily. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals, just head to the grocery store or costco. Lovely rental home!!

Amazing place and location, book it now!! My family and I stayed for a week and we loved everything about the house. The privacy that the yard offers, the games, the brand new appliances the super comfy beds, the AC in every room. Easy self check in and out process, extremely nice and responsive host. And the best part was to be able to come home after a long day to a glass of wine in the tub. The entire yard and property is fenced so our doggo was the king of the place. Extremely safe and peaceful neighborhood and super nice to walk our dog. Many dog friendly restaurants around. Loved the ping pong table and the fooseball and pool table too. The location is absolutely incredible. Walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. 5 minutes to the park, little Italy, the bay and down town. We were 15 minutes from the beach and sea world. Thank you for an incredible stay!!

We were mislead by the positive reviews and description. #1-There are five rental units in the house and you hear and smell the neighbors. You are not renting the house or a private yard. #2- The transitional area is not walkable to anything, and it does not seem safe at night. #3- A/C units work inconsistently and are loud. #4- We have videos of loud strangers swimming naked and loudly partying in our “private hot tub”The rental manager brushed it off. He also knew the pool table was broken, no ping pong paddles

Host/Manager Ricardo had good communication, however, he blamed Owners for all of the deficiencies 7 issues with the rental/home listed below: 1) there are a number of stains on the carpet 2) some areas of the interior paint are peeling away 3) multiple areas of carpet separation 4) the pool table has large divots making it unusable 5) the pool sticks tips are not functional 6) one of the cornhole platforms are split in half 7) some of the furniture shows extreme wear 8) master bathroom sink vanity has a lot of water damage 9) post tops have exposed electrical wires 10) the refrigerator outer seal is separated 11) the gate handle is non-functional 12) some of the interior doors do not close 13) the rental is advertised as a "New Stunning Mansion", which it is not 14) it should be disclosed that the property has been divided into 4 rental units 15) the upkeep needs some attention I am happy to provide pictures if you wish to substantiate the items listed above. By addressing the above items, renters will have an accurate understanding of what they are renting. A home built in 1907 is far from "NEW" by any standard. We were definitely disappointed with the property.

The house was amazing and very comfortable! Basically a home away from home. We all enjoyed staying there and the location of the home was great! I highly recommend checking out this little restaurant called “Los Panchos Tacos y Cantina.” Their food was absolutely amazing and the DJ was playing great music! We definitely enjoyed our stay ☺️

This property was everything we expected and more! Beautiful yard with a lot of entertainment. We loved it!

Took the family on a quick trip to San Diego. What makes this home idea was the enclosed yard with games. We wound down each day around 4 and we didn't have to get back out because there was so much to do around the house.

The property was really great. Very comfortable for the whole family including our dogs. The host was easy to work with and very accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again.

This property is stunning and in a perfect location. The house was very spacious, clean, and perfectly decorated. The yard is outstanding and kept the kids entertained for hours. The host was wonderful to work with and had great communication. I would highly recommend and am looking at rebooking in the future.

The house is immaculate and wonderfully designed. Completely modern, comfortably, clean and in a fantastic location. Ricardo could not have been lovelier and the stay was great. Genuinely high praise for this home. Very spacious with plenty of room.

The home was Beautiful as describe I look forward to returning

In early March of this year, I had both the opportunity and privilege to stay at this beautiful historic home with my family of “12” (8-adults, 2-children, and 2-puppies). Although the house is listed as “historical” it is fully appointed with all the modern amenities you would expect from a property of this caliber, which I can confidently say is 5-starred. There was ample room throughout the house, but what was particularly convenient for my large party, was the availability of bathrooms: this house boasted a master en-suite, and 3-other full baths (showers only). What was especially convenient was the “downstairs” bathroom which doubled as a guest “powder room”. I really did wish there was a soaking tub; but all the bathrooms were furnished with showers. However, the yard did have a jacuzzi hot tub (outside). Of all the amenities this house offered—wicked-fast internet access; chef’s kitchen; beautiful décor; laundry, air-conditioning and central heating, large screen televisions, etc.—the one amenity I found most attractive was the ample “outside space/yard”. It was private; large and well-appointed. It had a lounge area; dinner area; BBQ area; Jacuzzi and lots of open space. With the perfect weather in San Diego, it was the perfect setting for outside comfort and allowed for entertaining; for the kids and puppies to play freely; and allowed for overall relaxation in a gated and private outside environment. The property has 2-dedicated parking stalls, and the street is quiet and safe with more additional parking. The area in which the house is located is central to ALL that San Diego has to offer. This is the second premier property I have rented through Vrbo with Rick and his team. They are professional, proficient, and absolutely accommodating to your comfort. When and if necessary, they have the resources to resolve --any and all—requirements to assure a pleasant and hassle-free stay: I am hard-pressed to think of a request that he and his team has not been able to resolve, such as my asking him to install a hotel-style safe in the master suite…which he did personally. It is this attention to detail and willingness to make provisions that have made me a return client. I look forward to future business with Rick. **** William

The house is gorgeous. The location is quiet but convenient to many of Sam Diego’s best neighborhoods. Rick is a great host! Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The check in process was easy and the whole place was spotless when we got there. It ended up raining in the morning and our plans to go out changed. Luckily all the games in the yard kept our kids entertained for the day once the rain stopped. My only issue was that we were stressed about having to stay so quiet - we have 4 kids in our group and had to keep telling them to be quiet or not run which is tough for little kids. Other than that, the whole stay was amazing.

The house looks exactly like the online photos. The house was very clean, all household items were stocked with all the necessities. Comfortable clean beds and very homey. Quiet neighborhood and the yard was lovely Rick was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this rental. f

This mansion was amazing! From the comfortable rooms to the beautiful, relaxing front yard. It was in the perfect location where everything was close by even the airport. Rick, the host, was such a kind, genuine spirit. He provides us with great restaurant suggestions. Overall, the house was lovely and we definitely want to come back and stay here!

I rented Rick’s place for my girlfriend and 9 of her friends. They had nothing but amazing things to say about Rick and the house. Rick went above and beyond to include items in the house that made the trip even more memorable. They mentioned how nice the location was to get to all their reservations and trips they had planned. 10/10 would recommend to book to anyone.

We had a great vacation. The house is beautiful and the location is perfect with easy walking distance access to numerous restaurants. Our children had a great time enjoying the outdoors entertainment. Will definitely stay here again

Great stay!

We loved staying at Hillcrest. The location was perfect to find all our needs from restaurants to shopping and entertainment. The yard was just what we needed with 2 small children and the older group enjoyed the outdoor pool table and hot tub. Everything was very clean and nicely updated. Thanks so much to our host!

The property was beautiful and very clean. It was the perfect place for my family to have a vacation. There was plenty of room for five adults and four children. There was so much to do at the property from enjoying the hot tub, having a barbecue, and the many outdoor games. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook. The neighborhood was so nice. There was a great pastry shop and neighborhood market within walking distance. The host, Rick was great at communicating with us and gave us great suggestions on places to go. Thank you Rick for sharing your wonderful property with us and helping my family and I have a very memorable vacation. We are looking forward to coming back.

enjoyable and feels like home

The home is wonderful, and great location, so easy to walk down to the action of Balboa Park or Little Italy!

We had an incredible time staying at this incredible home. The space itself was beautiful and very well kept. We particularly enjoyed the amazing front yard with the games and jacuzzi. The hosts really pay attention to all the details and did an incredible job with this home. I was particularly impressed with how easy it was to communicate with Rick, the property manager. From the beginning, he was so wonderful to work with and answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly. During our stay we had a question about the AC which he responded to within minutes and helped us figure out SO quickly. A couple things to be aware of. The home is incredible and you feel like there is a lot of space but there is at least 1 other unit connected to it. We didn’t have any issues with noise but just something to be aware of. The neighborhood is beautiful but also very quiet so just be thoughtful of that as you are booking this place. Lastly, just be aware one of the guest rooms upstairs has a very small bathroom which can be challenging to shower in. There are plenty other places to shower but just to be aware of.Overall this truly was a wonderful place for my family to stay to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Working with Rick was particularly easy - one of the best rental property experiences I’ve had. Would definitely stay here again!
