Jim and Annette's place was clean and the space was as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked, possibly the best VRBO of any I have stayed in. We loved being able to bring our dog who also enjoyed the yard. The location in regards to BH/Acadia is great. Beds are soft, and it is close to major road causing more traffice noise than anticipated from the photos. Overall I would recommend.

Wonderful home for a family vacation! We loved how quiet this house was but that it was close to Acadia and Bar Harbor without having to deal with the traffic. The house itself had everything we needed and more. We thought it was larger that the pictures showed. We always enjoyed ending our busy days eating dinner on the deck then playing games around the fire. We hope to rent this home again next time we are in town.

We loved this house, it was spacious and felt like a home away from home. They have a high chair, and a pack and play (thank goodness because we forgot ours). We did end up going to pick up a baby gate to keep our baby off from the stairs, so I would suggest bringing your own if you have a curious dare devil like us! The kitchen was spacious and had most every tool, pots, and pans that you will need, and a great dining area. Bar Harbor is amazing, and we hope to go again in the future, we would definitely try to stay in this home again. Thank you Annette and Jim for the beautiful home to stay in on our first family vacation!

The house was perfect and very charming. The location was very convenient to Bar Harbor and we enjoyed the property itself as well. We look forward to staying at the property again :)

The house was bigger than it appears in the pictures. Our family of five had plenty of space and the location was excellent as every trail and the downtown area had multiple ways to go get there.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location made it easy to access all parts of the island for hikes and sight seeing with a comfortable place to return to.

Came with our adult children to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We ebiked in Acadia National Park, enjoyed downtown Bar Harbor and ate all things seafood. It was a wonderful time. The home was a wonderful place for us to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Probably our favorite house we have stayed at on the island. The house itself is gorgeous with a lovely huge porch complete with a super cool fire pit! The house was stocked with everthing you would need and was very clean. The hosts were very responsive and extremely helpful. The location of the house is perfect. It's private but all necessities and of course Acadia are only a short drive away. Plus, our dogs were allowed to stay with us which was amazing. Could not have asked for a better home base for our trip!

Had such a great experience last year, came back again. Very clean home, has everything you'd need in a rental. Hosts are kind and responsive to inquiries. Close to enjoy all Acadia has to offer but without the craziness of Bar Harbor. Quiet street, great pizza place within walking distance and other great restaurants close-by without that intense-touristy feel.

Lovely house on quiet street off very busy road. Twenty minutes to Bar Harbor, but great takeout nearby. House is big, clean with very soft beds. Nice outdoor deck and porch, big well-stocked kitchen. Communication with owners was minimal.

We loved that the location was close enough to Bar Harbor to run into town for food, a few drinks, etc but far enough away to be a quiet retreat. It was a great spot for hiking wherever we were headed on the island. The house was totally equipped and a great spot to relax for our pup too. The master bed was super comfortable, which is so important after a long day of hiking.

The town hill home was perfect for both jaunts into Bar Harbor for shopping and eating as well as into Acadia for driving, biking and hiking. Crooked Road became a favorite route. The home was great for all. Us old folks stayed on the main level while our daughter and friend stayed upstairs. Elsa the Aussie loved the yard. Kitchen had everything we needed. Will definitely look to stay here again when we return. Thanks to the Dow’s for being perfect hosts.

We loved our stay at this house- It was very clean and well stocked!! It was a short walk to the Island Explorer bus stop which made getting to Bar Harbor and other Acadia spots easy!

I can’t say enough good things about this property! We really didn’t want to leave! The house was clean and spacious with lots of lovely places to hang out like the front porch and the fire pit on the side deck. We cooked a couple meals and the kitchen is definitely well-stocked. The location is very convenient to everywhere we wanted to explore on the island. We would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again!!

We found this rental to be a beautiful, quiet, clean, well-equipped, comfortable house. We enjoyed our stay and would request to stay again. I would offer that a handrail could be added to the top section of the interior flight of stairs.

Perfect spot if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable home close to all points on the island. There’s a playground, market, pizza shop, and ice coffee place within in walking distance. The house is beautiful, well stocked, and has lots of indoor and outdoor space. And Jim’s lobsters are the icing on the cake! We spent a week here, fell in love with Mt Desert Island and are hoping to come back soon! Thanks, Jim and Annette, your home really made our visit special!

Everything was great from start to finish. The house was clean and comfortable with a great kitchen for cooking dinners at home. Close to everything in Acadia. Annette and Jim were very responsive. We appreciate the use of their house for our vacation and very much enjoyed our stay

We had a wonderful time staying here. The location was ideal for exploring Acadia National Park and all the charming towns nearby. The house was extremely tidy and comfortable with lots of attention to detail in terms of what a family traveling might need. We loved being able to cook meals in the well-stocked kitchen, making smores around the fire, and relaxing with games after a long day exploring.

The pictures for the listing are great, but when you see in person, even better. Beds super comfortable, everything very clean. The kitchen was nicer than my own! So well stocked and organized, appliances high quality. Very quiet street.
Pizza place walking distance was great, plus plenty more within a mile or 2 worth visiting more than once. Theres also a wine tasting venue not too far. And of course close to Acadia. Thanks so much, hope to come back again someday soon!!

Cozy, comfortable home away from it all, but close enough to everything you could want in Bar Harbor and Acadia. Jim is a master lobsterman and delivered our holiday dinner.

This house was perfect for us and the location was great! We were lucky to have visited during fall's peak color and enjoyed Acadia National Park very much. We also took Jim up on his offer of fresh lobster- something we will never forget!

This was my first time renting a VRBO and we Hit the jackpot! Annette and Jim were very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The home was beautiful, exactly as the pictures depicted. The Feel of the home was welcoming ,cozy, and clean. The kitchen was fabulous. Our hosts thought of everything you could possibly need. We ate most of our meals there. Jim delivered Lobster, we had a great time cooking it . We truly enjoyed connecting with our friends who met us there. Sitting around the patio fire pit table was a perfect ending to most of our days. Thank you Jim and Annette for sharing your lovely home. We would love to rent this home again.!

This was the perfect place for my Husband and I and our two dogs. Great yard for playing frisbee as it was big enough for them to run, and very private, too, so no distractions. The house is lovely with a great kitchen and comfortable living room and bedrooms. It is in a great location, close to the park and downtown.

This was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. The house exceeded our expectations. From a kitchen that was well equipped with all kinds of cooking supplies and good appliances to a cozy home with a wrap around deck. Clean! Owners are so responsive. We hope to come back again.

The house was well situated, making it possible to get just about anywhere on MDI in 10 or 20 min (remember it's a BIG island and you have to drive around mountains to get where you're going!). The home was clean, comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Our favorite space was the well equipped kitchen. We made every meal during our stay and it was just as easy as feeding the family at home.

My kids and I had a great time while on MDI.! The house was just what we wanted and is in a very convenient location. We hopped on the Island Explorer which is just a short walk down the road. The house had every amenity needed and we would definitely stay here again!

We spent four nights at the property and it was perfect for our group. The location was great for our hikes and our visits to town. We really enjoyed relaxing on the deck at night around the fire.
