Loved True North, everything was charming, clean, and well stocked. Played a few games of pool in the game room and used the grill to boil lobsters from the co op. The home is also back in the woods off the main road a bit which isn't obvious from the pictures, and the extra privacy was a nice surprise.

This home was nestled into the woods away from the road and anybody else. Very quiet and picturesque. The house was very clean and spacious. The game room was fun and well maintained. The host also provided all sorts of amenities including everything to have a fire in the fire ring. I would highly recommend staying here. Only downside is almost everything on the island is at least 20 minutes away.

People often indicate that their rentals have everything you will need, but we always know that cannot be true. At True North, it was as if we were staying with family, in the sense that all of our needs were anticipated with loving thoughtfulness. Sunscreen and aloe (thankfully we didn't need the latter because we took advantage of the former!), band aids and first aid kit, flashlights, binoculars, puzzles, games, wood for the fire pit, gas grill, tons of cozy towels, a nice variety of spices, and very thoughtful welcome gifts. This is on top of the fact that the well-situated property is on 20+ acres of quiet, wooded land with an unbelievable starry sky above. It is walking distance to a Nature Conservancy preserve and beachfront, and about 10-15 minutes from everything else. We just loved our stay here. We had the misfortune of getting locked out on our first night and I messaged Stephanie through the VRBO app at 9:45pm and she wrote me right back and was there with a key less than 5 minutes later. She is so kind and lovely. I recommend this property absolutely and cannot wait to return myself.

Great trip!

True North is a special place for our family. We loved making memories in the house and around the property on the 20 acres. There are trails a few minutes down the road that are also peaceful. This is the closest we stayed to a NP so it made it so much more convenient to us since we planned our trip around that alone. Bar harbor and surrounding towns were also nice in proximity to the house which made it easier for short drives for exploring. The details in the listing were right onpoint with what we experienced during our stay. Our kids loved the game room and all the toys made them feel right at home. We cant wait to visit again in the near future. Thank you again Stephanie and family for sharing your home with us.

We loved our recent stay at True North. Stephanie and her family have provided a truly wonderful home to relax in with family and/or friends. Our group included the full age range from children to mature adults. We all had fun playing the games in the basement, cooking meals together in the well-appointed kitchen, and relaxing in the several living spaces after a long day of hiking. The home is convenient to all points on and off the island. Stephanie has provided pretty much everything you could need to truly enjoy your vacation. Just bring your own shower supplies and food, and she has provided the rest. We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely be recommending the home to others.

It was great staying at True North. It's clean, spacious, and comfortable. (It feels like you are staying at your home instead of a vacation rental.) It is in a quiet, woodsy area with a nice backyard, away from the bustle of tourists. Stephanie is nice, helpful, and accessible. If my family and I are able to visit MDI again, we would be happy to stay at True North.

Stephanie’s property was amazing! We needed a week of rest and relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The property is exactly as described. The game room was amazing and my husband and I had a blast playing the games when our toddler when to sleep. The house felt like home and had everything we could have asked for on our trip to Maine and Acadia NP. The backyard was serene and we found one of our favorite hikes just down the road. For me, the appliances were also a huge selling point. Everything was state of the art! Beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and pillows in every room. Stephanie also left treats for our little one and some for the adults. She was easy to contact and we could not have asked for a better trip! We will definitely be back!

The property was wonderful -- roomy, surrounded by woods, convenient to anything you wanted to do on the island. We took hikes on both sides of the island with some satisfying vertical stretches and great views. Great lobster was available on the quiet side. It was always pleasant to return to our special secluded home at the end of an active day.

We loved our stay at True North! When we arrived we notice right away how clean everything was. Also, the house has everything you need for your stay from paper towels to beach towels. I really appreciated not having to pack those extra things. Our boys LOVED the basement. Instead of being on their devices between hikes and different adventures, they were playing pool or ping pong together! We all agreed it was a fantastic house.

This property was great. Lots of room and very clean. Close to everything we wanted to do. Beds were comfortable and the house was fully stocked! We definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay. Very peaceful and beautiful setting. The house was well stocked and the owner was a joy to work with. Everyone enjoyed the basement playroom with the pool table, air hockey, and ping pong table. She even left all the fixings for S'mores for the kids. I would definitely recommend this location.

If you’ve read all the other reviews, all I can add is: they are all true! The house itself is fantastic! So large! Stephanie has thought of everything! The location is nice and secluded and yet close enough to everything that we wanted to do. We enjoyed the provided s’mores ingredients by the fire pit one night, thx Stephanie! Stephanie made this trip so easy for our family, from the moment we walked into her beautiful home she made us feel welcomed. The home was very clean and had everything we needed all we had to do was just relax and to enjoy our vacation. We had a wonderful stay in Maine, and this house had plenty of space, linens, hot water, and activities for our family of seven.

The location was great. Not far from Bar Harbor and Acadia and secluded enough to be very peaceful and quiet during our stay. The place was beautiful and we had a great time. The property owner was incredibly helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We were all so impressed by this home. It was so nice and extremely clean. When we arrived Stephanie had brochures and maps for things to do around the island and a nice welcome note and gifts on the counter. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. She even supplied paper plates and paper towels. We had 5 adults in our group and we had plenty of space. The beds were very comfortable. We used the table on the patio every day. And we had 2 nights where we just relaxed with a fire. I cannot say enough good things about this property. It was just nice to come ‘home’ every evening to the peace and quiet. So glad we picked this house for our Maine trip. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We have rented many vacation homes over the years and I can truthfully say this one was by far the best! Thank you Stephanie for letting us stay in your home and as my friend said repeatedly for knowing how to do it right!

As a parent of college athletes, we/they do a LOT of hiking. We enjoyed Beehive, Bubbles, Gorham Mountain, Ocean Path, and much more! True North was a wonderful landing spot after a day in the park. It was very private and safe feeling. The house itself had everything we needed to prepare meals. Stephanie was very attentive both before we arrived and during our stay if we had a question. We enjoyed the game room too!

Decided to visit Maine in August to beat the heat of Nor Cal and for the lobster. We were not disappointed. Loved the house, so much room to spread out, lots of activities, and the best supplied home rental I have ever stayed. Stephanie was wonderful to work with and willing to offer suggestions of places to go and places to eat (even months before our arrival to help us plan) I hope to return to Maine one day, so much more to explore.

Wonderful toys for children, enjoyed the large amount of place settings and towels. Very nice property and owner was easily accessible.

This is a great place for a family to have a nice picnic in the backyard without seeing any neighbors. It has everything that the family needs for cooking and entertainment for everyone. Also, it’s within close proximity to everything you want to see. Stephanie is a great host, very helpful and thorough. I would recommend this place to anyone except the week when I will book it again. A truly great experience

We loved our stay here. Secluded for lots of privacy but close drive to everything.

It is apparent that this property is well loved by Stephanie and her family. It is comfortable, cozy, and has everything we could possibly need for our stay. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the patio and listening to the birds. Some deer visited during the evenings too. This home served as the perfect home base for our vacation. Our kids enjoyed the game room in the basement. The ping pong table was a big hit. We are yearly visitors to MDI, and have stayed in many rentals. This home is one of the best. We will definitely consider staying here again!

This home was absolutely perfect for our family’s first visit to Maine. The house is surrounded by wooded area, so our family was able to enjoy the large back yard with the fire pit and playground in complete privacy. The owners have done a fantastic job fully stocking the home with everything we needed during our stay. Our teenagers especially liked having the rec room to play ping pong during our stay. Our parents enjoyed having a bedroom on the first floor so they didn’t have to manage many steps during the stay. There are only 2 steps in and out of the sun room to exit the home, but that was definitely manageable for them. The master bedroom upstairs was very large and the bed was very comfortable. Our 3 kids fit perfectly in the upstairs bedroom as well - plenty of room for them to hang out also. We also loved how easily accessible everything on the island was from this point. We could get anywhere in what felt like under 20 minutes. We ventured into Bar Barbor, Northeast Harbor, and of course Acadia multiple times that week. For nearby restaurants, our favorites were West Eden for pizza (only 5 minutes away!) and the Nor’Easter (less than 20 minutes). There are multiple hiking trails nearby and our family enjoyed several of them. Communication with the owners was incredible. If we had any questions or concerns that came up during our visit, they immediately responded and took care of everything we needed. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely book this home again!
