stairs were brutal and the couch wasn’t the most comfortable

I loved the style of the apartment. High ceilings, lovely decoration and very clean. I have stayed in apartments across the world and I have been shocked with the way plates and saucepans are left filthy. Here, at Palazzo Gherardi, everything was spotless, easy to find, with cleaning items so I didn't have to buy dishwashing liquid, for example. I had contact with Alessandro from the moment I arrived and he guided me clearly on how to access the apartment. I met him a few days later, we had some correspondence in between, and his manner is very polite and readily available. Adorable. If I return to Florence, I will stay here again.

Host very helpful and responsive to queries I raised ahead of our stay.Centrally located accommodation in Pisa, very close to the train station and airport. Comfortable stay.

We parked the car and the owner met us on the short walk to the apartment and carried my case. he was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is exceptionally well designed and equipped and very thoughtfully set out -nice toiletries in the 2 showers , lovely white cotton sheets in the big double beds and lots of storage / hanging space,a big fridge /freezer. We didn't eat breakfast in the apartment as we were only there 3 days but there is an excellent cafe -Le Vespe about 50 yds away[ photo attached] .Location is great -short walking distance to all the major places of interest. Very easy to drive out of the Via Ghibellina when we left for home.

The only way it could have been better was a bottle of water in the fridge for thirsty travellers especially as the route into the Via Ghibellina from Bologna was through the outskirts of Florence and a bit tedious. as stated above the way out is very smooth no doubt due to the one way systems . If your drive you need to park in a garage and they sort out the permit for the Zone Traffico Limitato which operates in most Italian cities. We used Garage Verdi which is very close but has very steep entry/exit so I would recommend Garage Bargello which is further away down the via Ghibellina but on the level.

The location is great close to almost everything but the four flights of steps are a killer with the luggage. when you come home after a tour de force in Florence the magnificent , those stairs are a killer .

THE STAIRS I GET THAT IT IS AN OLD PALLAZZO AND A LIFT IS NOT PERMITED BUT A LIFT FOR THE LUGGAGE COULD BE DONE.

Excellent location. Extremely clean. Super comfortable beds. Really great space. Right in the center of the city, but so quiet at night for sleeping.

Hallways external to the apartment were a little dark. Perhaps a consideration if you’re staying here with older travelers/companions, but that was an extremely small detail.

Location was perfect to walk around the city and see all Florence. Quiet place in the city center.

No lift in the building. Have to climb three set of stairs to get to the apartment with lots of luggage. At least the stairs are wide and not narrow like in other places I have rented in Florence.

The apartment has been renewed lately. It is a big two bedrooms and two bathrooms apartment. The duomo is 10 minutes away by foot, and the Arno is also quite close. Everything is clean, there is a lot of ustensiles to cook if you want. There are 2 sets of key and you can enter the building with codes. The owner was very nice and answered quickly to the questions we asked during the stay.

The flat is a little bit more far away from everything that I expected but it's still quite close (10 minutes more or less for everyplace). Also the train station Santa Maria Novella is 25 minutes away by foot.

This apartment is fantastic! You will not find better hosts. Ale and his partner were both so welcoming and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The apartment was immaculate throughout and had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to all the main attractions and just perfect for a family stay. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to all my friends! Grazie Ale
