Walked to the property from Amtrack, also walkable to Mission and downtown.

This is a perfect location. It doesn’t get much better than this.

My family and I spent Christmas 2023 in the Purple Moon Sea Breeze Cottage. It was an amazing place to spend with family

5-10 minute walk to beach and just a couple blocks from town. Unique and historic. Cute and comfortable front porch. Easy communication with the owner:)

The place was nice and right next to downtown. Dorothea was friendly and responded quickly. I would stay here again.

Traveling with my brother so the 2 bedroom set up was perfect. We were able to walk to the beach and loved the location of the home .

Had to make an emergency trip to Ventura as our 43-year-old son died unexpectedly. Dee was spectacular. She made us feel welcome and the angels in her home helped us get through the first few days . . . . more to come, but we sincerely appreciated her support during this difficult time!

Dorothea was an amazing hostess. Hurricane Hilary was on it's way and she kept in communication with me to let me know she was available should anything happen. The vibe of the house was so comfortable and relaxing. We spent our evening out on the front porch enjoying the weather and dinners on the back deck. It is perfectly located from downtown and the beach; all within walking distance. I will definitely be staying there again.

We had an awesome time in Ventura and appreciated Our Location... Lots Of Purple though... that was the only Obstacle to overcome...LOL

This adorable historic cottage is situated right at the edge of the pedestrian area of downtown; as such it was easy to walk to everything, but we were pleasantly surprised how quiet and peaceful it was especially at night. Parking was never a problem. It was so much fun to stay here we will definitely be back! Owner was friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Dorothea was easy to work with. The home was an easy walk to shops, restaurants, and a movie theater. There were ample supplies in the kitchen. Plenty of towels, too.

This well-managed property is conveniently located near beach areas and a thriving walker-friendly downtown shopping and dining district. Excellent and surprisingly large property with fully equipped kitchen and a HUGE back deck. Very clean! We enjoyed morning tea on the open front porch and all the effort that went into the gardens and landscaping. Street is pleasantly quiet! Definite “must return” property.

We LOVED this place ! Dee was just the best to work with and went above and beyond when the website wasn't working for our booking. And the house? OMG, the HOUSE! It was really everything we'd hoped it would be and MORE! Not only is the decor eclectic and fun, there's a piano and board games to make it even more fun! Fourth of July was the perfect time to rent this home because the annual parade came RIGHT PAST the house. We just had to walk out front and sit down. The beach is more of driving distance, but we were able to ride scooters down and around the walking path. My teens said how comfortable the beds were. The downtown areas is just blocks away, a super easy and safe walk. I felt safe as a single person here with my kids. Definitely rent this place!

The purple cottage was purely adorable. It's clean, spacious, and located very close to all the restaurants, and even the San Buenaventura mission. It was delightful to be able to walk around. Thank you Dorothea, for being such a wonderful host.

We enjoyed our stay at Purple Moon. Very close to shops and downtown. The host was easy to talk to. Check in was easy. The place was clean and as listed. Our 5 year old son had fun in the mini rocking chair. We loved walking the neighborhood. It was a charming time.

I was unable to arrive as planned due to the Southwest mess Christmas Day. I messaged Dorothea explaining my dilemma. She called me & told me “No worries “ ! She assured me I have my original reservation to complete whenever I want to come. I look forward to meeting her in person very soon!! She has me rebooked for a Spring trip to Ventura!! I will be reporting back on the property then.

We wanted a quick getaway and this was the perfect destination. So close to Main Street and everything was clean and check-in was a breeze. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Super cute place with great layout. Close enough to the action to enjoy it (night life, dining, shopping) and far enough away to relax and enjoy the quiet. Very responsive host. We really appreciated working with her!

She also made us feel very well taken care of by stocking the house with all the essential household items that you would need. You can tell that she likes to make her guests feel right at home during their stay. We will definitely stay here again!
