Thankful that we we were able to check in earlier, the same type of room was given except that it was disability friendly. The staff was very professional and helpful. Returning to Townsville later in the year and will stay at Grand Hotel and Apartments again. You will never go wrong with this place.
The audio on the tv in the receiving room malfunctioned. Maybe I just pushed a wrong button on the remote.

The property is in a fantastic location, very close walking distance to The Strand and restaurants etc. The hotel is simple, luxurious and very clean.
The rooms are large and have plenty of space to move around, also balcony offers some fresh air and a nice view. We stayed for 2 nights and we had the bed re made and towels changed for fresh ones which I thought was a very nice gesture. The bed and pillows are so comfortable, making it hard to drag yourself out of bed in the morning. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again.
The large bed seemed to be separating in the middle but very comfortable.

The property is in a great location and has great facilities. lots of great restaurants near by. I even used the hotels gym, which was slightly dated but good to use. Pool looked nice but didn’t have the time to use this, also full of families and kids.
The bedroom was very spacious and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The hotel is very clean and even has a small balcony area to sit on. In the evenings there is a great choice of free moves to watch.
The free toiletries provided were very luxurious for a hotel and smelt really nice.
I would definitely stay again.
Not really anything to dislike, just a small fee is taken for security purposes, and is refunded a few days later, seemed a little extra for a one night stay but understandable if this is their policy.

I have stayed at this location before. Staff are very helpful and friendly. We had, for the first time, an eco room where you have during a 5 day stay one 'official' clean. That was a new experience and worked well as were away from the place most days. If your stay was longer you might want to consider having more than one clean per 5 day stay.

The location was convenient
The parking was horrible, they were expecting people to park on the street 10 minutes away from the hotel. The staff didn’t really seem to care about it, the shower was hot for 3 minutes then would go cold. all and all would not go back ever again especially for what you pay for a small room with horrible parking.

the room I booked was for a family of 1 adult and 3 children-was meant to have 1large double and 2 sofa beds-no 2nd sofa bed!!

Fantastic location! Complementary bottled water in reception was nice.
The pool water was so hot, we didn't swim. It needs a cover. A tub would have been nice.
Didn't like having to pay for parking. I would liked to have known about having to pay a security deposit before it came out of my account.

I had my own vehicle, had asked for under cover parking or behind the gate parking and had booked for it.
But there was none available when I arrived.

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly. The size of the room is good. Secure parking is available but not for us due to the football.
We were told no more secure parking could be given out because it was full but when we got back there were parking spaces available. The bed was not very comfy. My side had a padded topper on it but it still was not comfy. The price extremely high due to the football.

The apartment that we rented for 4 days was very nice, it had all amenities in perfect condition. it is super central and close to restaurants. The bed was very comfortable, the apartment was large and well-designed.
1. The soundproofing is terrible, one can hear every word of the neighbors (through the ventilation and the walls).
2. Drunk neighbors shouted until 4 am one night.
3. We did not like having to additionally purchase parking for the entire period ($80) because the staff would not assess whether the free parking would be full or not. Also, it was not possible to purchase only 1 days parking, if that day/night happened to be full. This felt a bit like being scammed. There were plenty of free spaces available the entire stay.
