The room was excellent - very clean, spacious, and well-kept modern. When we checked in we got upgraded to a better room with views directly over the ocean - absolutely fantastic! The staff were very helpful, always hands-on with anything we needed; they even prepared a cake with a lovely message for my fiancee's birthday. The breakfast was very good and well diversified to suit all tastes.

Очень большой и просторный номер с видом на океан, большой балкон на котором можно встречать рассвет и провожать закат. хорошее расположение отеля, недалеко от центра и в близи с самыми лучшими ресторанами острова.

Ужасные завтраки !!! менеджеры, обратите внимание на качество еды , соки- это что за пойло налито в кувшины для соков?? они разбавленные настолько водой, что в апельсиновом графине плавают сгустки сгнившей мякоти. Выпечка всегда не свежая, засохшие круасаны и остальное все просто отвратительное. повар, который жарил омлеты делает это больше 10 минут если вы заказали 2, то будьте готовы что нужно 20 минут просто ждать. выбор еды оставляет желать лучшего и отель из-за этого не может претендовать на 4 звезды. так же еда в ресторане возе бассейна. Паста карбонара - это переваренные спагетти, слипшееся месиво и греческий салат который был нарезан таким маленьким кусочками, что производил впечатление ...... и так же хочу обратить внимание на подушки- на них не возможно спать!! мучение!! это ужасно дешевые подушки из ваты. Мы не могла попасть 2 дня в СПА потому что никого не было на ресепшене в СПА чтобы записаться на массаж или узнать о времени работы сауны.

The hotel was ideal for us, we enjoyed the walk into Funchal - it took about 20 minutes. The views from our hotel and the room were stunning, absolutely wonderful. It is easy to get cabs from the outside of the hotel, and a bus tour from the top of the road. The cocktails in the hotel bar were lovely, and all of the facilities were great. The room was a great size, no noise (apart from the ocean which was beautiful!) Would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed with friends at this hotel and we loved everything about it. The staff was very warm and welcoming, the room was super clean and quite spacious too. Not to mention an absolutely stunning view from the balcony! Location was also great, there are tons of good restaurants/shops within just 5 min walk and the drive to Funchal is only 5-10 min. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was perfect! We receive un upgrade to Pesrana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort hotel, due to renovation, two rooms with a sea view which was amasing! We felt very welcomed! All employees were very professional, all the time with their smile on the face transmited a good vibe and mood. This hotel has the best location in Funchal. Employees are really amazing - always smiling and helpful. Breakfast is simple but good, lunch at the pool tasty and fresh. Views are spectacular as there is nothing between the hotel and ocean.

I visited this hotel before renovation so the rooms really needed to be redone. But after renovation, I think it will be the best płace to stay in Funchal. It opens in July2023.

Great views, nice personnel. The hotel itself was a old (that can be seen by doors, carpets), but they anyway close for renovation, so might be irrelevant now. On the good side - sparkling wine was served.

The breakfasts were very very ordinary - same set every day: eggs, pancakes, flakes, milk, coffee, some pastry. You won't be hungry, but also nothing really delicious. No variety of fruits or vegetables.

Bathroom: - shower didn’t work (replaced shower head upon request) - hair in the shower and on the bathroom walls!!! Bedroom: - old and very uncomfortable beds + after the first night my husband woke up with many bites all over his body (NOT MOSQUITO BITES!)

Excellent location by the sea. Nice breakfast by the sea. Nice terrace with a restaurant with walkways to water. Very nice common areas, with good food and nice views. Life music some days. Travel bureau onsite can arrange many trips at very reasonable prices. Excellent swimming including to two small islands.

We had two rooms with two joined single beds. In one, the mattresses were less comfortable.

The location of Pestana Palms is awesome. The waves crashing against the rocks while in bed while as great. Good views from balcony and breakfast area. The supermarket is across the street. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Taxi stand in front. Great daily Happy hour and entertainment for most nights. The pool area is nice with a decent restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff.

The property could use some renovation.

Amazing facilities - great pool and you can jump into the ocean from the back of the hotel. Bar and restaurant provided great breakfast and happy hour. Room was large and had a great view. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and a supermarket. Staff were friendly.

Beds were quite uncomfortable. We arranged for a shuttle to the airport from the hotel - after it was 30 minutes late we ended up getting a cab from the street for the same price. Rooms were a little dated but spacious.

Check in was good. Had a one bedroom apartment but then we found out our air con unit leaked all over the carpet bringing out a musty smell. Complained to reception and told to turn off Air con for the night. After a discussion and showing her the video of the leak, with the reception manager in the morning who wanted to charge us a supplement to move she did then upgrade us to a 2 bedroom apartment with no extra charge. The pool facility was lovely as was breakfast.

The hotel is getting a little tired and even the upgraded apartment had a slight musty smell when the air con was on but I was informed that after 35 years the hotel is closing in 2023 for 6 months for a refurb. This will only enhance a vacation in a hotel which has a prime location where there a lots of very modern, classy hotels around

Great value for money - breakfast had a wide variety of food available, service at each of the bars were friendly and attentive, amenities were clean. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Free limited parking on site, just buzz the gate.

Beds are old and uncomfortable. My partner and I shared a bed of two singles put together. My partner's bed was sinking on one side.

Myself and my daughter stayed her from Thursday to Tuesday. The hotel is in an excellent location with the most fantastic view. Rooms are spacious and had everything we needed including hair dryer, fridge and kettle. The buffet breakfast was fantastic. We sat outside each morning in the sunshine basking in the view. The reception staff were very helpful, booking taxis etc and we also used the hotel to book a boat trip to see dolphins and a jeep safari. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby. We would definitely recommend.
