Good value. A basic 1970s motel but friendly, spacious, clean and well serviced. Free wifi, Sky tv. 2 blocks from the lake, 4 blocks from the Info Centre. Lovely walk along the Waikato river to Huka Falls takes about 1.5 hours.

The bed was so uncomfortable and hard that it hurt my body to lie on it. The room was very noisy, no soundproofing, had loud walking from room above half the night so was unable to sleep more than 3 hours. No fan in bathroom so a lot of condensation. There was an overpowering smell of bleach that made my daughter cough. The receptionist at check in was very nosy wanting to know why we had so much gear.

Located in a quiet area away from CBD but easily reached on foot

We were a party of six and only five beds were made up. The lighting was rather poor in the main bedroom, with only one bedside lamp functioning and the main light did not go

The optional breakfast was lovely, the receptionist was very kind to provide us with some maps and tips on what to see and do, and the plates and cutlery were cleaned for us daily.

Nothing at all

We were moved from a ground floor unit to a studio on the first floor - the room was huge. A double and two singles were available and on a clear day there would be amazing views towards the lake.

The room was pretty dated but we didnt spend much time in it. Be aware that the bathroom withing the studio isnt separate (walls dont go up to the ceiling). If you were just travelling with friends then that might be an issue (privacy).

Able to walk to the centre of town. The apartment was clean and well equipped with a spacious kitchen area. Beds were comfortable. Management was friendly. Good view from the window with the lake visible over the roof tops.
