being a historic building, no elevators, which could be problematic for anyone with a lot of luggage or needing accessibility. also the pedestrian-only location means that connecting with the staff to get directions on how to get there is important

Really excellent all round. Friendly, helpful staff. Large, airy room with all the facilities I needed. The spacious bathroom had an excellent shower. All I need in a hotel. And at a competitive price.

My only minor complaint is that the hot breakfast buffet wasn’t hot enough for my liking.

The hotel is in a very central location, the hotel restaurant is an excellent Italian restaurant, Christian met us and was very hospitable, took care of all our requests. The rooms are designed in an exceptional way. We had an outstanding experience.

noisy neighbourhood. the noisy night clubs were only around the corner from the hotel playing music until 6am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. I am not sure if this is legal. The police were near by but didn’t seem to do anything about it. The street at the back of the hotel was lined with night clubs with some putting their woofer bass speakers on the road and playing their music all night! the double glazing of the hotel kept most of it out but literally there was a thudding sound in the room all night until 6am. I initially thought it was a faulty air conditioning unit. we were in the Gothic Room but I can’t imagine any other room would be better. the hotel owners in the area really must campaign to force the club owners to turn down the volume after a certain time and move the speakers indoors.

The friendliness of the staff & their willingness to go the extra mile was fabulous. The hotel is a boutique establishment so there is no lift to the 2x upper floors of guest rooms. But that does not matter. The exercise is good for yoy.

I did not like that I had to leave aftrr my 5 night stay.

The location is not accessible by car as it is on a pedestrian road. The closest road is 1 min walk, but you cannot get an uber there, since there are 4 predefined pickup/drop off locations around the old town. So 5 min walk from the hotel. Of course this is not the hotel's fault. We had to drag our suitcases on the cobblestone in the cold. There is no elevator, but we received help with our luggage. Many clubs and bars nearby that play music with doors open until 4am on weekdays. No quality food/ drink options in the old town. Breakfast was mediocre for the price. Buffet had limited options and was not replenished fast enough. Eggs to order were very good though. Each room has different decor. We were kindly upgraded to the Gothic room. TV was too small, and bathtub was not convenient for showers, was too high to get in and did not have a mounting point for the shower head, so not easy to take a shower. A case of form over function. Mattress was OK, but duvet was small for the bed size. We slept in late one day until 12:00 and then the room was not cleaned. Only one roll of toilet paper available at a time in the room. Had to go to the reception to get one. No room service.

The hotel was perfectly located near restaurants, bars and shops but was so peaceful and quiet. When you walk into the foyer you instantly realise how elegant and immaculately clean the hotel is whilst also having a quirky decor. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return.

Music from nearly pubs

Everything. I stayed for nearly three weeks in total as I liked it so much. The themed rooms are perfect and I did not hear any noise despite old town location. I stayed in Japan room, but I liked the look of most of the rooms. The staff treat you so well as it is a small personal hotel. Every day the cleaners made the room so nicely. There is a restaurant if you need it but I only had coffee here. It is a place I would recommend to anyone visiting bucharest.

We stayed here twice and loved it. The hotel is a beautifully renovated building situated in the old town. The rooms are well-appointed, spacious and clean, each with a different theme. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The location was perfect for our needs, close to restaurants and ideal for exploring Bucharest's old town area. There was a decent breakfast with both hot and cold options, served in the restaurant at ground level - which also opens onto the street. On one of our stays we had the French room - it had a small balcony, which was an added bonus as we enjoyed taking a drink there while watching life on the street below. We would have no hesitation in choosing this hotel for any future visits to Bucharest.

There was nothing for us that was not to like. However if you have mobility issues this may not suit as there is no lift, no direct access for taxis/ cars, and the rooms have baths with showers over.

everything was great. only suggestion would be to have a proper shower instead of hand held one.

The staff.. they were brilliant.. especially Adrian. He was just so helpful in organising our very very early departure and he was very kind. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast excellent- if expensive. The size of the room.. it was enormous (Nautica room)

The noise.. it was excessive. There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel and it was very noisy.. staff shouting to each other. The hotel has PA music system and it was quite loud on occassion. The shower.. it was just so difficult to use for tall people. It isnt the hotel's fault but it is in an area full of allnight 'doof doof' nughtclubs. We were warned ..so we really cant complain about this.

A room upgrade was given on arrival it was Zen room and was huge room comfy bed , fluffy pillows and exceptionally clean .

Breakfast was not good very basic and little choice the bread was stale and dry
