Everything was as advertised. Even better in person. We had a great time and enjoyed the yard and the location is only a 25 minute walk to the heart of Carlsbad. 5 minute walk to Tamarack beach and with the included parking pass it was perfect for our family of 4. It’s at the end of a dead end street which people do park along the road throughout the day. It doesn’t really interfere with the view and the front yard is landscaped very well so it feels very cozy and private. It was quiet even on cinco de mayo holiday. As far as the home goes we kept all the windows open and the breeze was perfect. Big mirrors in the bedrooms and has good hot water for showering and kitchen was fully stocked and clean. TV was nice for evening movies and even though we didn’t use the fire pit or grill it was nice to have. We will definitely look into staying here again. Neighbors were quiet snd there are so many trees and shrubs covering the property it felt super private. We loved it however the main queen bed was very firm for us. Depends on your liking…

Beautiful, well kept home. We enjoyed sitting out in the yard taking in views of the lagoon and ocean and watching happy dogs and their owners start their walks down the trail. House had everything we needed and we would definitely stay here again!

We loved the location overlooking the lagoon (and ocean beyond) and being steps away from a hiking trail. The house was clean, comfortable and had great amenities (like the outdoor fireplace and outdoor seating). We would stay here again!

This is a great property. We loved the view of the ocean every morning and evening. It was very close to the beach, and we walked most of the time. The drive was 2 minutes and easy also. The BBQ was very nice and easy to use so it made outdoor dinners the thing to do. I would recommend bringing an extension cord so you can plug into the outlet in the main bedroom. My phone cord was too short. I also thought the main bed was on the harder side, but I like soft beds so it’s really an individual preference. We loved our stay and would absolutely love to stay here again!

Small cottage 2bd 1 bath..perfect for 2 with dog or children..clean opened windows,fresh ocean air, along Lagoon an path to Hwy crossin to bch,few blks down from Carlsbad Village, quiet with great neighbors, on a dead end street.GREAT BEDS!! SO important! Thanku!

Great location! Yard is excellent for dog. Grill and firepit were easy to use and nice to have. Very comfortable house.

Great location. Our little dog loved the fenced in yard and the lagoon path that starts out the front door. Outdoor space with gas firepit, bbq, table with umbrella and lounge chairs madee for relaxing afternoons. Amazing lagoon and ocean views. Hope to return.

This small home is truly walking distance to the beach and the boardwalk into Carlsbad. It is on a cul de sac, so very quiet, except for the few sounds from the passing trains.

I spent 3 weeks looking for a rental and kept coming back to this. Upon arrival, it was more than what was imagined! My family and friends we're so ecstatic with the location & view.

Perfect property in every way! The house has everything you could possibly need for your stay. The hairdryer was missing and we texted the property manager who ran one right over. The yard is beautiful and perfect for evening cocktails while overlooking the inlet and watching the sun set over the sound of the ocean waves!

Does have a great view out the front window with the line of palm trees and ocean. We loved fishing in the lagoon with the really clear water and saltwater goldfish lining the banks. You can walk to the beach, but it is some distance depending on what you bring. I read the reviews before booking a train and a busy parking area outside. Both were non issues as the train was not loud at all and the parking is just like that in all the beach towns. Carlsbad is a good central location as we visited San Diego and LA.

The location is great! Yard is perfect for kicking back and watching the sun go down or grilling. We had a great time!

The view was great. Spent most of the time relaxing on the patio. Very comfortable. Old home but very well maintained.

We would love to return after you replace the fridge and trim the bushes in front. I don't think I should have to fix the leak in the fridge that someone knew about and told me how to get on my hands and knees to fix. We had no ocean view from the patio.

Older home, near the beach. Unusually high traffic in front of house for a dead end location. Train is fairly loud in the morning. There is no A/C and the bedrooms stayed too warm. Overall a nice house, could use some updating, with a good Location to most of the beaches in the area.

This is our second stay, cute little house on great location, short walk to the beach. Because of the great location; expect a lot of cars parked at the front with a lot of noises. And all the door knobs in the house are falling apart, I wish they would replace them. Specially front/back door, the lock really need to be replace.

Exactly what we wanted. A place with all the amenities of a home. Close to the beach, Walking distance. The place provided a parking pass if you would rather drive and park at the beach. We walked to the beach with a wagon that had all our beach stuff. The place is a little older so no AC. But opening the windows and turned on the fans that helps and we were comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. Grocery store is minutes away. And it’s very close to Carlsbad downtown area so there are many restaurants nearby.

This is a great little unpretentious house close to the beach. Less than 10 minute walk to the state beach and mere steps to the lagoon make for a great location. Bring your fishing gear if you are so inclined. Lots of locals fishing out on the lagoon. Everything at the house worked perfectly and bedding and other linens were clean and ready to go when we got there. I would book again in a heartbeat.

The outside seating and bbq area makes this rental worth renting.. the view is of the lagoon and frontage rd.. the weekends are busy in front of house but quiet at night.. nicely furnished , & comfortable but sparse on any extras other than salt & pepper

Best location in Carlsbad! Quiet street across from the lagoon. Easy parking and we had two cars. The yard is perfect for dogs, very secure and plenty of grass. We spent every evening outside on patio watching the sunset. All pictures are accurate. Home was clean, comfy beds, and plenty of accessories to make your stay great! Great location to walk dogs and short walk to beach. Any questions we had were answered with a quick response. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

View and location to the ocean was the best thing about this space. Manager was dishonest about beds being changed. They are so hard we took pain meds! I asked about the beds before booking because of the previous comments and so we were lied to. House is very old and needs updating. Blinds broken or mismatched. Security doors should be installed at both doors—no security at all and the street out front is so busy night and day because people are parking, fishing, and dog walking. Laundry room in back is filthy and scary walking into. Neighbors in back partied for 2 nights until 5am. If I could ask for money back we would! I have loved using VRBO/Airbnb for 16 years so this was very disappointing—we work hard and count on a nice comfortable stay when we vacation. Wanted to bring our dog this time so the yard was useful.

I loved everything about this beach property in Carlsbad, except the hard beds! I was hoping from some of the last reviews complaining of the hard beds that they would have been replaced by now. But that wasn't the case. That's why 4 stars not 5. Otherwise, we enjoyed our week. You can't beat the view and proximity to Tamarack beach is great. Lot's of parking and nicely landscaped, fenced yard. Our young grandsons came to visit and had a great time playing in the yard. My husband enjoyed fishing in the lagoon, right across the street! The house is very clean! Nice towels. Kitchen had everything we needed. It was also great having beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels and toys to use. The manager was quick to respond and helpful. Overall it is the "Best Spot in Carlsbad". We will be back (as soon as they replace the beds!!!) :)

For a short get-away with my family, this "best spot in Carlsbad" was perfect! Hope to come back soon!
