Lovely rooms, very clean and beautifully put together

The staff were friendly and thoughtful, we arrived earlier than check-in but they offered to text us when the room was ready. The bed was super comfortable, everything was very clean and well presented. Check-in was quick and easy, and all the stuff were very welcoming and helpful. The warm cookies were a wonderful extra touch, so lovely!

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was beautifully presented and cozy, and the breakfast spread was very impressive and delicious. Some wonderful touches and we really appreciated the amenities and how luxurious the room was. Great for a short stay!

We would have preferred a room on a higher floor as the sounds from the street below carried and woke us regularly (being a Friday night). We were also looking straight into an office building next door. I think in future we would request to be on a higher floor.

Great room with comfortable beds. We had a big tv to which we could cast shows from our phone. The view from the windows was not that great - we looked out into other offices. But overall it was a great stay!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Second room offered at a cost was 100% better than the first room for $10 extra a night.

The street noise at night and early morning but that is part of staying in middle of city and out of the Hotel control Breakfast was nice but for a vegetarian very little choice for hot dishes. Would be nice if there was other choices of milk, I did ask for oat milk for cereal and I got a small jug which was great, couldn’t get a nice coffee as coffee machine only had normal milk which was disappointing for someone who loves morning coffee, I had to go out to cafe for coffee. More preserved fruit also would be good, only had peaches

Nice big room, love the bathroom, friendly staff, yummy breakfast 😋 Close to shops and supermarket so it's convenient to buy some drinks and snacks for the kids. The cleaner came and cleaned our room, making it spotless.

Parking place. It's tricky to find the parking for the hotel.

Rooms were quiet and pleasant. Seemed to be well cleaned. Parking was super easy (with gps) and convenient; location was brilliant including supermarket just over the road. cafe at entrance was very good for coffee and empanadas

Breakfast was really disappointing - strongly suggest going to a local cafe. Modest range - good if on the fly etc. but food quality seemed pretty average. Room coffee supply was minimal - expect at least a couple of pods to go with the Nespresso … Most of staff were great but lady on check in was a little all over the shot leaving customers waiting and ignored while she was fluffing around; mixing up names; and was somewhat abrupt to an elderly couple wanting some help with their luggage advising them they would have to sort it out themselves (words to that effect). Even if there wasn’t anyone to help - was pretty rude in her manner towards them. Disappointing to witness.

This was a great location in the midst of Lambton Quay shopping and restaurants and the entrance to the Cable Car. Also, not far to walk to other attractions.

general expectations considering society/change etc, was ok

Not quite up to the standard of other Hiltons I/we have stayed at/in over several decades. However we do recognize that times (and NZ society) has changed. V/noisy neighbour(s) til late & some of the phrases/language was neither Hilton standard, not what a well bred girl may like to hear. Room layout could do with a little review, particularly with regard to more usefulness/practicability, re some of the smaller items. We would probably stay there again, as necessary, for it suited our needs.

Location was fantastic and room was so clean. Breakfast included was a bonus. Definitely recommend and would stay there again when next in Wellington.

The location is excellent. The room height is impressive and makes us comfortable. The bed is good for comfortable sleeping.

It would be better if the twin-bed room could provide bigger size beds.

Comfortable beds

We were accommodated on the first floor and the street noise and neighbouring bar noise were terrible. We were given a room with a shower seat that wouldn’t fold away and a toilet that only reluctantly flushed. We told a staff member about the noise at check out and he was unconcerned and suggested we were “unlucky” with the bar over the road. He suggested we think about which room we book next time! We didn’t choose the room and we won’t be staying again. An inner city hotel should have decent sound proofing.

The cleanliness and presentation of Hilton by Double Tree is absolutely impeccable and I have very high standards.

That we were allocated an accessible room, the water just ends up flooding the entire bathroom and no towels to mop up. Extra set of towels in the cupboard would be nice. There was no Sky.

I stayed there last year three times. I have already stayed now once this year and will be returning in September. The staff from reception to the restaurant, to the housekeeping are all exceptional. The beds are very comfortable. The location is the best and I walk everywhere because of it being so central. Cable Car across the road.
