Amazing views and great birding!

Really cute place in a forest of flowers and birds. Patti was an excellent host - communicative, helpful. The house had everything we needed; we loved our stay.

Was hoping the house had a bigger view, but really did not hinder our enjoyment.

it was remote and quiet. Maybe a bit far for some, but Iñmany will enjoy the privacy. Really nice to have a sitting room and kitchen with a private balcony and nothing in the view but trees.

The private house was amazing! It's pretty much in the middle of the woods, and there's a great chance you get the see exotic birds on the balcony of the house. Patty, the host, was amazing and very welcoming, she had already previously contacted me and gave me instructions about the house and its location, very professional. I will definitely be returning to this place this summer, it's a great place for couples!

Amazing place, the view just absolutely beautiful. Definitely a peacefull place to really relax also the apartment were fully equipped (kitchen appliances, refrigerator, stove.. even some condiments). I LOVE the fact that them recycle. Mrs. Patti is very attentive and gentle im really grateful for everything on my stay. Definitely wanna visit this place again.

It is a slice of Paradise! Beautiful flowers, fruit trees and birds. Patti is an amazing hostess. Always knows how to find the people to drive you were you need to be and the right stores to go for shopping. 🇵🇦❤️

The drive way was a little steep

The view is amazing and the location is unique! You are surrounded by nature. Patty is a great host who knows everything about the birds and animals around. We felt very welcomed. We highly recommend this place!

Patty is a very nice host. We really enjoyed our stay in Valle de Anton. the house is a bit rustic but that is already visible in the photos and part of the charm. Generally i would recommend to book the loft (upstairs) if you like bird watching. We put fruit in the feeder downstairs and hardly saw any bird. While on the upstairs balcony there were lots of birds without food :) Unfortunately the upstairs room wasnt available when we booked, but then ended up being empty the whole time while we were there. I really like that some basic cooking things were in the kitchen like coffee, oil, salt etc. there is also a big oven - a lot of vacation rentals dont have that.

We received towels in the beginning and spent three nights there. After some time the towels didnt really dry properly and stayed damped. But I'm sure we could have asked for fresh towels. A hair dryer might also be nice (maybe i overlooked it?)

La Chachalaca is such a beautiful spot in the jungle to spend some days in Valle de Anton. The view from the rooms and from the terrace is just wonderful and you can see a lot of birds and other animals in the garden. Patti is one of the nicest persons, she gave us food for the birds and was always there if we needed something. Definitely recommend that place.

Better bedding

We spent one of the most spectacular holidays at La Chachalaca, away from the noise and the everyday rush of city life. It is the perfect place for a mountain getaway. La Chachalaca is nested in the forested hills of El Valle de Antón, in a small, secluded valley, not too far from the town, and a hiking trail with amazing vistas. Accomodations are beyond cozy and lovely, and our host was beyond friendly and helpful. Their garden is absolutely gorgeous. We watched a stunning sunset. We saw clouds fly above our heads and stars shine in a blanket of jet. We spotted oropendolas, toucans and hummigbirds from our balcony. Highly recommended; you will fall in love with this place!

The Chachalaca is a paradise to return to after the wonderful hiking trails in El Valle. The location is perfect away from the traffic and roosters of other spots with only the smoothing sounds of nature to lull you asleep. The apartment is well equipped, the bed comfortable with quality linen, and Patty the hostess is terrific. We'd stay here again.

Amazing location, you fall asleep looking at the stars, and wake up with the birds singing and eating fruit on your terrace. A paradise place on earth, we will definitely be back!

The apartment is located in the middle of the forest, so you are surrounded by pure nature and it’s beauty but still have a very high standard of living (warm water, kitchen, fridge etc.).

Awesome spot for nature lovers and birds watchers. The view is breathtaking. Patty is very welcoming and helpful, she feeds birds every morning and to watch that feast is spectacular. Would definitely stay there again.

Road is a bit rough..

The view

This is a truly spectacular place whose magic is understated in the pictures. It is on a mountainside overlooking the beautful valley, with birds, monkeys, sloths and squirrels throughout the property. Pattie is a wonderful hostess. On request she will put fruit on a feeding platform that allows you to lie in bed or sit on your porch and watch birds of all shapes and sizes descend for a feast. There is a rustic outdoor kitchen that reminded us of a well-equipped RV camping experience. The kitchen has everything you need to make complete if simple meals and itself has wonderful views and is surrounded by the forest, open to the air. The place is remote enough to be quiet and full of bird life but close enough to town that you can walk back and forth if you are reasonably fit. (It's about 3 kms each way to the start of town with a bit of mud along the way and a steep hill for the final 100 meters or so.) We loved the walk and coming back to Pattie's hospitality and our great views!

Hostess always responded promptly.

It was dirty. There were roaches in the kitchen roaming around the utensils. There were cobwebs everywhere. The advertisement is misleading claiming that additional safety and sanitation measures are in effect at this property due to COVID. The parking was a nightmare. Not only that you have to have a 4x4 and the skill to go up the steep driveway, but we also have to negotiate where we can park our car daily. The hostess was passive aggressive. Before we left, she had brought our luggage down with her truck and left them on the ground unattended at the exit road. This was quite a rude gesture coming from a hostess to her paying clients.

Incredible Views, Paty really puts in a effect to make you welcome. She leaves out bird feeders in the morning to see many birds outside of the room with the moutain few was lovely

Not handicap accessible

The going to was an experience; I've loved it. I've got lost, did some 4x4, but eventually got to Chachalaca. I did receive detail plan and advice, but thought I can go from Anton del Maria to El Valle de Anton. I can't. The place is unbelievable tucked away in a valley. Once at the house, there is an amazing view looking over El Valle de Anton. During the night there was a thunderstorm in the distance, and what a view. The room is basic, but clean, and the host very friendly. I will certainly go again but a bit longer than just one night.

No breakfast...It would have been good to have breakfast with a view.

Our room on the bottom floor had a beautiful view of the gardens, the birds and the mountains. The sound of the birds singing, the breeze and overall atmosphere of the house is very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. I really felt like I was on vacation. There's also a couple patio and shared common areas with even better views of the wildlife, nice spaces for picture taking and a sunset tea or cocktail. Pati, the host, was just wonderful. I actually wish I spent more time talking with her about her interesting travel and life. I appreciate the warm welcome to your home Pati and thank you for sharing the birds and your amazing views from a beautiful place. The room is clean, spacious, with a working kitchen and private bathroom. I'll be back!!

the birds near the facility were amazing!

we couldn't get our 4x2 car to the top, Patty had to help us get up, but overall it was an amazing view, you have to have a 4x4 to get all the way to the top, but i guess it is fair because if it wasn't that high we wouldn't have had such amazing views, and patty was nice enough to take us up and down in check in and check out, through the rest of our stay we had to walk up and down.
