Very lovely house filled with artwork and charm. Spectacular views of the mountains, and the night sky is brilliant with stars. Well-equipped and spacious kitchen. We had a great time here.

One of the great places we have stayed in when in Santa Fe.

I stayed at this property with my wife and five kids (ages 6-16) for seven days in the summer. It was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was easily large and well-appointed enough to feed my family, the bedrooms were spacious, and the outdoor areas were thoughtful and beautiful. The house has a pleasing layout that worked great for group visiting and private down time. Nancy was an accessible and helpful host. The location is excellent for exploring the area - fifteen minutes to just about any part of Santa Fe. We're hoping to book again on our next visit to the area.

Great friend getaway
This was a great property for 4 friends staying 5 nights. Great outdoor space for mornings and sunsets, great amount of space where we could have plenty of time together and plenty of time to ourselves. The wifi was a little slow if you were trying to get work done, but okay for most of what we needed. The property owners were very responsive to questions or needs.

Beautiful spot
My friends and I enjoyed our long girls weekend. It was nice being outside of town so we could enjoy the quiet, the views, and the relaxing outdoor spaces. The house is spotless and very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful, gorgeous setting
Stayed here with three friends, and our stay was lovely. The house has panoramic views on all side of the surrounding mountain ranges, and we enjoyed both sitting in the living room with the doors to the patio wide open, and sitting on the back deck looking out at the Jemez Mountains. The art in the house is interesting and unique. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful home!
We enjoyed our stay at this home so much we added an extra night. The hosts were easy to work with and the house had every amenity needed. A bed set up on the back porch was a nice touch for a few warm nights. We hope to get back to stay soon!

beautiful views
This is a great house with beautiful westward views. About 10-15 minutes from the palace of the governors by car ( but if you are a biker...what a ride!). Best for kids who can sleep in the same bed- the trundle situation is a little tricky for my two teens.

Fantastic getaway spot
Gorgeous home. Beautiful views. Quiet and peaceful. The perfect spot to getaway from it all but stills close enough to enjoy all that Santa Fe has to offer.

Beautiful home
My family drove in from Dallas and my brother's family drove from San Antonio TX for a 6 day stay in this home. We enjoyed every minute.
The home is beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. It's very comfortable and had enough room for all of us. There were a few kinks but nothing that interrupted our enjoyment of the home or vacation and the owner quickly responded. It snowed a couple of days while there, was the perfect setting and a treat for kiddos from Texas that don't really know snow. The outdoor fireplace on the patio was a nice evening gathering spot.
The kitchen had all the plates, pans, cups and cutlery needed. The home had the basics in terms of paper towels, trash bags etc. and was enough for our stay.
We weren't experienced with radiant heating so it took a day to get the heating to a comfortable place. We were sweating it the first night with fans on but we got the hang of it.
We drove South to Albuquerque (1 hour), north to Chimayo (30 min) and ate at various place in town. The plaza was about 15 minutes away. We frequented Market Street grocery store for supplies and their prepared and made to order meals (15 min).
Loved the home and it's location and would recommend it to our family and friends.
Also, if you are staying with other parties, make a mad dash for the master bedroom to the far right and claim it! Seriously, run..quick. It has a king bed and my kiddos and I were lucky enough to stay in this room. This room (and equally sized bathroom) is amazing all by itself. You have to stay in it to understand. Just looking up at the huge beams in the ceiling was beautiful (Yes, I appreciated how well the house was designed and decorated).
Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Gorgeous home with Views for days!
I rented this home for my mother and sister to come out for a special trip to Santa Fe. The home is lovely, beautifully appointed with everything you would need to cook, entertain or just relax. Each room is tastefully decorated with just enough Santa fe charm without going overboard with it. The back portal was our favorite place for morning tea and evening wine and conversation. Great location only minutes to town, yet you feel secluded. Our only complaint was that there is not any cooling and the evening of our arrival was unseasonably warm. A few mini-splits for cooling would elevate this property to total comfort. We would definitely consider renting this home again.

Relaxing, stunningly beautiful
This home away from home met our needs perfectly. We own a lot nearby and it gave us the chance to experience how it will feel when we get ready to build our own home in Santa Fe. This is a beautiful home, convenient access to downtown Santa Fe for groceries, shopping, galleries, restaurants, museums and more, as well as the surrounding area and local airport. We felt pampered and cozy, and can't wait to return.

Great Thanksgiving Holiday
We absolutely loved Casa Venado, beautiful house. Plenty of room for family of 6 and the dogs. The house was clean. The views fantastic. The location is close to Santa Fe Plaza but far enough out of town to feel like you're in the country.

Spacious home with gorgeous all around views.
Looked like photos. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans, etc. we had to purchase wash cloths. House was clean. Although there was a "gardener" who came a few times, the walkways and porch perimeters were overgrown. Some small cedars right at house are growing and encroaching on view. We were tempted to pull the weeds ourselves! But,,,remembered,,,,,,we were on vacation!!

In the great room there was a strong odor of cat urine. The patio was wonderful and the house was very well stocked. We enjoyed the stay very much! Thank you!!

Beautiful, well cared for home
We booked the house for a ladies weekend in Santa Fe and it was perfect. The home is beautiful, clean and very well cared for. One of the reasons we selected this home was the outdoor living space, which was a wonderful area to dine and enjoy the views.

We absolutely loved this home in Santa Fe!
We drove up to this beautiful adobe home on top of a hill and knew we were right at home! The inside was clean and sparkling. The rooms were all spacious and perfect for the group we had.The outdoor patios were great for viewing the sunrise and sunsets each day.The house was equipped with everything we needed from the kitchen to the washers and dryers. This home is one that I would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all and have every luxury,of a home away from home!!!We truly had a great time and want to thank the owners for opening up this home to us.We would stay here again and again!

Stunning home!
This home is so beautiful! Perfectly set up for three couples to spend a weekend together. The kitchen was HUGE and the outdoor fireplace was our favorite spot.
Very nicely decorated and very warm and comfortable. Radiant floor heating was so awesome!
Definitely use the owners directions because the neighborhood can be a bit confusing.
Wifi worked perfectly for is, but we didn't use it much.
Short drive to the Plaza, and we appreciated not being right downtown because of the views.
The sunsets from the back of the house are absolutely amazing!
I would highly recommend this home!

Mixed feelings - Disappointing customer service
This is a nice property; however, the service provided by the Owner is way below standards.
When we arrived to the property, it was not clean, beds were not made, towels were used, toilets dirty, stove used and dirty, dishwasher was full of dishes with mold built around them - a complete mess. Got pictures of all this to support my statements. Owner got my requested essentials cleaned during our second day at the property claiming that just slip their mind, unacceptable. Got to say that we received a discount of one-day from the total price paid, but would have rather save the unpleasant time.
Then, a few days later, the garbage disposal stopped working. Owner did not fix it but suggested as course of action that I will contact a company and wait at the house until they would come to fix it. When one is on vacation and paying for these services, it is expecting the Owner to take care of any issue with the property.
Very disappointing Onwer’s customer service, attention to cleanliness of the property and response to maintenance issues.

Relaxing getaway in the hills above Santa Fe
My girlfriend and I traveled with her daughter, and then were joined by her son and his girlfriend, for a quiet getaway over New Year's Eve weekend. We found the house to be perfect for our needs.
Think southwestern furniture and decor, tasteful and quality but not showoff-y, throughout the house. Tons of space in the kitchen, living room and 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom was amazing, and includes a master bath suite that is among the best I have ever seen: luxury jacuzzi, shower, huge walk in closet... the thing must have been 500 sq ft all by itself.
The other two BRs share an adjoining bath. All the bedrooms have walkouts to the nice patio areas surrounding the house. On the main patio, there is a fireplace that we enjoyed one night, and a wonderful view of the valley to the north.
We did plenty of cooking, and the kitchen was up to the challenge. Nice appliances, all the cookware and servingware we needed, a few basic commodities in stock. It was about a 10 minute drive into town to the nearest store (Albertson's) to get provisions.
Among the best features is the view: from one side, you can see the valley to the north and west; to the other, Santa Fe and the mountains to the east and south. Simply beautiful every day we were there.
We had a couple of very small glitches, which I hesitate to mention because this is a new Home Away listing and, having texted with the owners a few times, I expect they will make adjustments. One is that the Wi-Fi is really not up to speed. There is a cellular air card, but we had trouble getting a strong and reliable enough signal to meet our needs. We resorted to my own cell phone Wi-Fi function, which seemed to have a better signal and worked satisfactorily. The jacuzzi had not been used in a while, and expelled some sediment when we ran it. The TV (there is only one, in the main living room) is fed by Dish TV, and during our stay, the service was unavailable. Again, I see these as minor setbacks in an overall 5-star experience, which I hope the owners will address.
I need not comment on Santa Fe itself, an art, food, culture, and social extravaganza. If you haven't been... GO!
Would we stay there again? Absolutely! My girlfriend's son lives in Albuquerque, and our next chance to visit, we will book here again.
