Exceeded our expectations

This amazing time away was planned for family members and bridesmaids a week before our daughters wedding. My daughter in law found this beautiful house and I booked it immediately. Everyone had the most memorable time, the house, accommodation, space and privacy was just everything we could of wished for. We loved the outdoor pool and hot tub area and it felt like we could of been anywhere in the world. The sunshine did help during our stay, with some rain while swimming, all added to our fun time. We are still lost for words really about the whole weekend being together, sharing a very special occasion in such a superb property. Everyone would love to return and enjoy a second visit.

What an amazing property, nothing could be added , just excellent. The pool was lovely and warm , the grounds were immaculate. Highly recommended it , we will definitely be booking again.

Great place to spend our family Christmas, would love to come back in the Summer to enjoy the swimming pool as well.

The house was warm even in November, but we lit a fire just make it cosy. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax.

We all had a fabulous time plenty of space and a very relaxing feel to the house we were lucky with the weather and made the most of the pool area kids loved it . I would like to make this a yearly gathering lovely house lots of fun for all Perfect. Roger Hawkins

Lovely ,well furnished house. Ideal for our mixed age group of 20 people because so mamy sitting rooms and spacious bedrooms

The house was lovely and just right for my birthday celebrations. There were a couple of things that need seeing to: one of the light fittings in the kitchen diner area isn't working, and the fridge kept leaking. We think the latter issue might be because it needs defrosting so this might be advisable as soon as possible. The main problem was the heating and lack of hot water. The house simply did not warm up and many of my guests had to have cold showers. I imagine this is probably due to the age and size of the house, but the Hive wireless system gave the impression that the heating was quite modern and it didn't feel that way. Aside from those issues, the rooms were decorated amazingly and the huge dining room was just the right size for all my guests to sit together and eat. The pool was great, and having the miniature railway and fairy walk next door was wonderful for the children.

Large house for our family gathering of 15. The house and gardens were true to the pictures. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and equipment. Bedrooms were spacious and beautiful. Children loved the pool and the games room with poker and backgammon was well used in the evening. Would highly recommend for a large get together

The Practitioner Doctorate in Sustainability department, from the University of Surrey, recently held a Writing Retreat at Audley End, Saffron Walden. This large country residence was perfect for this. It is quiet, situated within a large garden with a lovely heated swimming pool at the top of the property. Bedrooms are large and airy, so there is space for sharing. With 4 to 5 reception rooms, there is lots of space to spread out. The formal dining room is a stunning setting for a celebration. Online food delivery went smoothly - Waitrose, Tesco's and an Aldi's in the area. Would happily return.

Although the property owner Mark was approachable and helpful , the staff who came to check the property on the day of our exit was extremely rude and shouted us for taking a group photo in the garden.

Thank you so much for renting your unbelievable property out to 15 lads on a weekend away Martin. I totally forgot about the guest book on our departure, so wanted to post something on here so you were aware of how much we appreciated everything the house had to offer. In particular the grounds and the swimming pool area were a favourite with our group - we got so lucky with the weather too! But even without the above we all agreed it would be an amazing place to stay with our families. The rooms are all very spacious and the facilities fantastic. And all within a short walk of Saffron Walden, which is a very picturesque place. Thanks again, and hopefully we will be back soon

We celebrated a big birthday and it was the perfect back drop! The owner sent great instructions and even helped me plan a long country walk.
