Staff is trying their best to please you, and really good huge breakfast, We asked to change one sheet as it didn’t seem clean, and they instantly changed it.

We agreed on the recommended tuk tuk driver price before going on a tour outside the city and we had to pay more in the end ! Not quiet in this room, there’s a small alarm ringing somewhere in the hotel every 3min all night long, and noise all night long. And unfortunately the hotel was closed when we came back from the restaurant on the last night, couldn’t reach the host, we had to climb the balcony to be able to get to our room (funny but not for everyone)

It is very close to Gregory Lake and you can see the wonderful sunrise scenes from the bed. The host, Bandara, cared for us very well and patiently answered all our queries. The complimentary breakfast was brilliant and had a huge variety of local dishes. Room was very spacious.

The stay is a few km away from the city center which is fine.

Utroligt sødt personale! Gjorde alt hvad de kunne for at hjælpe os med de ting vi havde brug for. Store rummelige værelser. Dejlig have og smuk udsigt. God morgenmad med massere af mad.

Ingen restauranter eller indkøb ved boligen. Så bus eller tuk tuk til alt (2-3 km ind til byen) Rengøringen kunne være bedre, der var pletter på lagner og betræk. Desværre havde vi rotter på loftet, som vi kunne høre løbe og kredse.

Super Preis-Leistung! Wir wurden mit einer leckeren Tasse Tee begrüßt. Das Zimmer war eher Britisch eingerichtet, etwas kühl, da es am Abend auch ziemlich geregnet hat, aber es gab eine heiße Dusche. Alles war sauber geputzt, das Bett frisch bezogen. Der Betreiber steht einem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Ob Empfehlungen für Unternehmungen oder Restaurants, Tuktuk oder Taxi Buchung. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas erhöht mit einem tollen Blick auf den See. Das Zentrum liegt etwa 30 Gehminuten entfernt. Das Frühstück war eine Mischung aus westlichen und asiatischen Komponenten - sehr gut und reichhaltig! Kann diese Unterkunft für ein/Nächte in Nuwara Eliya wärmstens empfehlen.

Der Boden im Zimmer war sehr kalt. Aber uns wurde empfohlen die Schuhe anzulassen, was bei den meisten Unterkünften in Sri Lanka nicht erlaubt ist.

Gute Lage. Sehr nette Gastgeber. Für den Preis gibt es ein mehr als großes Frühstück.

Der Balkon war über den Garten für alle begehbar.. Die Vögel auf dem Dachboden waren teilweise extrem laut. Vorallem abends und nachts.

The place is the most homely place we came across in Nuwaraeliya. The place is awesome and the staff is very helpful. Rooms are so clean and walking distance to the Gregory lake . The place is so safe. Felt so homely during the stay and planing to visit again . Can highly recommend to anyone

Best location, friendly staff, value for money

A very good resort. We had the feeling of visiting a relative's house. The service is very good. Food is very good. Very kind people serve. The prices are very reasonable. Everyone choose to stay here. thanks MELFORD.

The locasion & facilities were very good. The manager Bandara manages the place very well by giving the right royal treatment to the guest.

Only issue was the wifi & TV did not work well.

Our room was huge and very clean. Loved the wood flooring and the comfortable beds (since the property is located on the hill, in a quiet place, you can have the best night sleep here). The view from the room is no nice, overlooking the lake. The small garden is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of flowers and plants all around. But what makes this place special is Bandara (the Manager) and his entire staff. He goes above and beyond for the guests to feel welcomed. The breakfast he prepares is to die for, so rich, tasty and delicious. He helped us find a transfer when leaving to Ella and helped us getting a tuk-tuk to town. He is genuinely a nice person and easy to talk to, you can see he does everything from the heart. We really appreciate the care and respect he and his staff have for their guests.

All staff are very nice to me. They always try to help me and provide the best answer. Breakfast was also amazing, I could have a lot of Sri Lankan tastes. The amount was too much so I couldn’t finish them all, but of course I wanted if I could.

The hot shower was a little bit unstable.

The breakfast was amazing - such good value for the amount and so delicious. The views from our room were great and it was lovely sitting out in the garden in the sun overlooking the lake.

The wifi wasn’t working very well

The hospitality of the host Bandar was beyond any expectations! The room was huge, very clean and nice, the view - absolutely amazing. I'd highly recommend opting for breakfast: the host cooks it himself and uses organic vegetables. The tea was especially good! We enjoyed our stay in Melford Nuwaraeliya! I'd love to come back!

Very nice Victorian house, with a view over the lake. Our room was large and cozy, with many amenities available (drinking water, tea, coffee,...). But more importantly, the host was incredibly nice, he's an amazing cook and made us some of our best dinners/breakfasts of the trip!! He also arranged a threewheeler for us to visit tea plantations, which was a great experience. Overall super helpful and dedicated to his guests.

Long wait for hot water in the shower

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Everything was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable. The value for the price was outstanding and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and the view from the hotel was beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a budget-friendly option that truly delivers on value for money. ♥️🔥

The hosts were incredibly attentive and helpful. The room was spacious and you can use a kitchen that is full of all the necessary things needed, including filtered water and tea/coffee. The breakfast was our favourite one in Sri Lanka so far!!

The room smells a little damp/mouldy and the hot water didn’t work.

Was as expected. They can cook as per your requirement. Decent place. Clean and same as shown in pictures.

It wqs too cold. It was about 13 degrees outside during our stay and no heating option so we froze the whole night
