Apparently we got an upgrade on the room so I'd be worried about what the others looked like. The room was clean but very basic. The furniture was cheap, wardrobe were plastic etc and we had to change room as the bed was broken. If you are traveling on a budget I'd imagine this place is better than a hostel but I wish we had paid more and stayed else where as I was expecting better from what the other reviews had said.

It's in a bit of a dodgy location and the place feels very much like a motel. We were shocked to get told that no sex tourism could go on... We had no idea Jaco was that sort of place in the first place but apparently it's renowned for it. Not knowing Jaco's quirks we were messaged about this and then told again at the hotel. The payment method was really strange, they kept on saying the credit card was invalid on booking.com and then when we turned up they demanded the money again even though I had already paid (this was eventually sorted out) but they then canceled the booking on booking.com at 23:40 whilst we were in bed so I'm not sure if they are trying to avoid the commission paid to booking.com but it was strange. The breakfast was stingy, only given a small portion of food followed by 1 tiny slice of bread. But for the location as long as you're not expecting it to be amazing it was good value for money for that location as lot of other places were a lot more expensive. On a side note we would not recommend the location of Jaco at all as there are much nicer places to visit in the area.

I had a private room and it was so comfortable and clean. You have everything that you need and more at this place. Pierre, the owner, is very welcoming and take care of every litlle details of your stay and you get a quick response from him and his wife, from Quebec :), when you write to them after the booking. The wifi system is odd…you constantly have to keep re-entering the password every time you need wifi, it changes to often as well

bed took up whole room. it was a king but my wife had lots of luggage. The wrist band seemed a little extreme for such a small place.

I have been here before, it used to be a very cool hotel and they have extended their facilities, which I found nice and more space, I had great expectations.

But expanding isn’t always good if isn’t done properly. 1. Instead of improving breakfast that it used to be very simple, they took it completely, no longer breakfast included. 2. They have become super strict, to many rules for everything. 3. The new guys at reception are not at all customer oriented, they don’t know how to apologize or to address a unsatisfied customer, they simply don’t care, by justifying “no body has complained before”, isn’t a way to resolve a customer inquiry. 4. They are pet friendly, however, by a mistake in the same hotel website, I booked the wrong room, they decided to “honored” their error for the incorrect information on the website and allowed me to stay paying extra for my dog, but it felt like they punished me for it, cause they put me in the worse room they could possibly have, I was shocked about how my previous experience could have been changed that much with this new visit. I felt so bad for them, even tho they have such a great potential, if they keep it this way, the hotel is following its path to failure. If you go with your pet, prepare to be send to the parking lot, not kidding!

the check in actually closes at 6pm rather than 7pm shown on booking.com. the staff were not particularly open minded to staying open an extra 15 minutes to check us in. the check in process is a faff on the iPad. the room is basic and we felt as if we had over paid.

It was quiet, the bad part was, it felt like a prison , it was me and my adult son, you could not leave the place, without the other, you couldn't get back in, only one key to gate, and we both had different places to go, they would not give us two keys, I had to set outside for hours waiting for my son, so I could go to bed, never again..

some misunderstandings with the access to the room, and there wasn’t enough water at the bedroom shower.

The staff was not welcoming, no smile, no explanation except how to open the gate. The room was like a sauna, smell bad and the locker of the door was almost broken. the breakfast was only boiled eggs, 2 fruits &cereal with milk and the quality was poor. During check out the staff ask us to wait and checked the room in front of us which I felt quite inappropriate. overall our stay was pretty bad experience we will not recommend.

The room was ok, bathroom tiny and little water in the shower. Unfortunately the reception person was nice but had no information regarding surroundings, transport etc. Location is a 10min walk. We do not care about breakfast. Café ok, but if you need good food in the morning, you will not find it there…

I've been to this hotel several times, it's always comfortable and easy to stay at, very practical.

The breakfast absolutely sucks. It's so bad, that literally I had to go elsewhere to have a decent breakfast. I would rather pay 10$ and have a decent breakfast.
