Rooms were exceptionally tastefully decorated. Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked to order. Karen (owner) was really friendly, helpful and chatty

Three parking spaces for the guest house round the back which were tight for parking, but doable and Karen was very helpful guiding us in!!

The breakfast was very good. Flavour of bacon was good, egg tasted like free range. Bakery bread might be more appetising.

The radio playing during breakfast was irritating, classic FM would have made a gentler start to the day.

Location was a plus for us, we visit Torquay several times a year and have stayed in several B&B's. Decided to try Scarborough Road for the first time. The room was comfortable but dark, we managed though . There wasn't a mirror near the sockets which proved a challenge when drying my hair. There was only one chair in the room for two of us, two smaller chairs would be more beneficial? Our room at the front of the property was quiet but was told by other guests that the room on the ground floor was extremely noisy and they hadn't been able to sleep!

We booked this hotel several months ago along with our friends. Our friend caught covid and couldn't (rightfully )make the trip. As free cancellation had expired, she contacted the B&B to ask about options. Deciding to discuss options with her husband she ended the call. The the money was transfered straight away by the B&B!! The next phone call resulted in her being told she couldn't have a refund, the only chance of her getting one was if she cancelled her booking and they were able to rebook the room! As this seemed the best and only option she did this, and kept an eye on room availability through Booking.com. There seemed to be a glimmer of hope when we noticed that they were fully booked. She phoned the B&B , who told her that the room was booked by one person! She got a refund of just over £50 but had paid over £200 for the room (she did ask about changing dates but was told this wasn't a option). While we were there, it wasn't full. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS!!!! It is such a shame this happened, we probably would've ALL returned as the location was perfect! I know hospitality has taken a hit by Covid but so have so many of us !!!
