Service and staff were superb. Special thank you to front desk and to senor Gomez of the restaurant service, for going the extra mile with a smile.

The waters of the beach was filled with jelly fish. Made it impossible to enter the waters. Pool only.

Management and employees were proactive at addressing issues right away. They are also working hard to improve their service. Very friendly staff especially the entertainment team.

Outside of our rooms smelled like sewage at times. Our initial room also had the sewage smell and hot switched.

I like that eventually I got the room with air conditioning!! The air conditioning in the room was blowing circulated air at room temperature, no matter what the thermostat setting showed. For two days in a row, the technician came to take a look at the room, then left and never returned again. We were transferred to another room on the third day, because "the problem cannot be resolved quickly". So, 3 out of 5 nights, we spend without conditioner in very hot weather with high humidity.

Avoid Bahia Principe Grand La Romana at all cost, if you do not want to see your vacation ruined. Our family decided to get together for a vacation in late June 2023. We arrived at the property at 14:30 (check-in time at 15:00) and were informed that their system showed there were six persons and not 8, and we should pay about $1,500 for those not included. Never mind that our receipt shows the payment was correctly made. And never mind that the mistake was made either by the Bahia staff or by Booking.com through whom the original reservation was made. The manager, Alejandro Garsia, at Bahia Principe Grand La Romana, said we should have ensured everything was correct before arriving. Why should we have worried that something is wrong when our reservation and receipts show everything is correct he did not explain. After arriving at the property, we have spent FIVE HOURS at the front desk trying to check-in. The manager, at the front desk stated, "This is not his problem," we should call booking.com. He blamed booking.com for this mistake. Multiple phone calls to Booking, com did not resolve the issue as the calls were dropped and not answered by the property staff (Booking.com said they were trying but were unable to reach the property by phone). The manager said a few times that we must pay additionally to check in; otherwise, we would not be checking in. Very warm greetings! Only when it became obvious that the offices were closing for the day and there will no one answering our calls any further were we allowed to get to our room (at 7:48 pm), leaving the issues to be resolved the next morning (exciting news when you came for vacation!). PS: no one was swimming in the ocean because the water was dark, grey with an unpleasant smell. There was no seaweed on the beach. I will never visit again and will make sure to warn friends and strangers alike.

The place was beautiful, the crew was welcoming and the food was really good!

We upgraded our room to bahia principe bouganville on our arrival because we were celebrating our honeymoon, the room we got was nice, but we had barely any hot water and the stream eas really low, we ask the hotel for help but we felt like it wasn't taken seriously, also to bathroom door somehow got locked from the inside, it took them like 25 minutes to come and unlock it.
