The tranquility of the internal building was beyond compare. A beautiful central area with water features including small pools of goldfish and plants created the most amazing sense of calm. My room was very clean and really gave a sense of history. The staff are the greatest asset; friendly, helpful and understanding. The shower room provided everything I needed with great water pressure and heat.

The hotel is situated just outside the main centre of George Town, so it's quiet but still within walking distance of the main sights, shops and eateries. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the town. The room (with ensuite bathroom) was very comfortable and quiet. There is a small kitchen area where you can make your own hot drink. The hotel is beautifully decorated in an old Malaysian style.

Esta casa de época es preciosa! Está muy bien situada per a la vez queda escondida en una calle muy tranquila. La habitación era grande y muy cómoda. El lavabo privado estaba fuera de la habitación pero para nosotros eso no era un problema. Todo muy limpio y el personal amabilísimo. Café y te de cortesía en el patio que tiene una fue te y unas plantas muy bien cuidadas. Muy recomendable!

Mein Zimmer war direkt neben der Rezeption. Um ins externe Bad zu gelangen, musste ich durch die „Lobby“, was nicht optimal ist. In zwei der drei Nächte war es an der Rezeption recht laut (Anrufe, Gespräche). Generell ist es sehr ringhörig.

An excellent heritage hotel in George Town with traditional decoration & atmosphere. Very relaxing & very helpful & friendly staff. Huge room with private bathroom outside the room. Very good location close to many malls. Very clean & very organized. Excellent WIFI internet inside the room.

Every thing was perfect during my stay.

Accommodations were very clean. Decor nice lovely courtyard inside with place to sit and coffee available. Bathroom clean but a little far from the room.

No outlets for electronics but was able to borrow an adaptor. Advertised tours unavailable and wrong information given by staff. Night staff could have been quieter as we were in the room close to reception and heard their videos until after 1 am.

The house is gorgeous and absolutely worth seeing. The area with provided water (hot and cold), with tea bags, coffee and biscuits is great. The indoor garden gives it a special flair. The house is situated a bit outside the old city center but everything is within walkable distance. The staff provides useful maps and information. The private bathrooms are situated not within the rooms but outside, our's was a bit farther away, like 20m but it wasn't a problem for us.

After our affirmed booking we received a message that the room is no longer available and we should upgrade to a different room, which coincidentally was much more expensive. We did not accept this and they then found a different solution but it was rather weird. We also found the check-in rather strange because we suddenly had to pay more than it showed on booking. Only about 25 Ringit, but it was unexpected. Also the additional 12Ringit per night for taxes should be mentioned beforehand. You also need to pay a 100 Ringit deposit for your room once you arrive.

Location is central but in a quiet street. The house itself is lovely and the first impression is in a way that you expect a wunderfull stay. The staff is realy helpfull and do their utmost best to let you have a comfortable stay. However there are also a few minors....

The building has 2 lower rooms and a few rooms on the 1st floor as well. Since the building has traditional wooden floors upstairs the noice from just walking in the upper room will definately keep you away from a good night sleep. During our stay the upper floor was occupied by a Malaysian family. From the information they given, they were invited by family to stay in the hotel and join evening family dinner outside. Although we very much respect their way of living and lifestyle, we would have appreciated if they would have given us a more relaxed stay by beeing a bit more quiet. Another issue we experienced was that, although we have put the "please do not disturb" sign clearly at our door, during our absence staff went in to shut down the aircon. Of course we understand and appreciate saving energy, but the building was renovated in its original style without any form of insulation or (saving) energy control. While have 35° (+) degrees outside the wooden non-isolated room it takes 3 hours to bring the room temp around 25° After we put in this complaint the staff mentioned that shutting down the aircon was a clear instruction given by the management. Overal we value this place at a 9, based on staff, location and the traditional housing and interior. Considerring our experiences, who might be incidential, we have to lower this to a 7. Sorry !

configuration of power sockets in room for charging phones (outlets were old school … halfway up the wall … far from the bed) guests should bring a power board. Our bathroom was a short walk across the inside courtyard so wished I had remembered to pack a light robe.

The public space surrounded by a lot of plants is amazing.

Very spacious room, very clean and very comfortable. The place is beautiful and the location is great, very calm but a short walk to the center or very cheap taxi rides if you use Grab. Wifi was good to work. Water, coffee and tea provided.
