Bon rapport qualité prix, bien pour ce qu’on attend d’un hostal. Propre, bien situé et personnel sympa.
Petit déjeuner pas fou mais bon… on est dans un hostal, donc on ne s’attendait pas non plus à du grand standing.

Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
My room was close to the road, and you can hear the noises of people and cars passing by. Also the single bed is small, felt like easily to fall out of the bed.

Funcionários atenciosos, hospitalidade e cortesia do Hostal. Nos permitiu tomar café quando chegamos e entrar antes do horário de chek-in, estávamos "quebrados" devido a longa viagem.
O café da manhã pode melhorar em termos de variedades.

Negative rating due to bed bugs that bit me and as a result I had to go to the doctor. I have medical documentation. The hostel provided me with an additional free night in another room and washing all my clothes. I haven't received my money back. Strong allergic reaction and long-term treatment...

O Hostal Schilling oferece uma excelente relação custo benefício em El Calafate, o quarto tem todas as comodidades para uma boa noite de descanso após um dia de passeios. Além disso, é só descer a rua do hostal para encontrar tudo que é necessário: supermercado, cambio, restaurantes, bares, cafés e a igreja de Santa Teresina. O Hostal possuí também áreas comuns e um jardim bem instagramável. Mas o destaque é para a simpatia e o atendimento da equipe, Gonzalo me ajudou com praticamente tudo e deu dicas ótimas, assim como Ramiro que insistiu para fazer o passeio do barco para ver os glaciares e foi realmente o que mais me impressionou.

-Very closer to the well -known restaurants, Cafes and Travel agencies (suggest you book the activities online in advance),
-The receptionists can speak English and warmly.
-Hot shower.
-Warm heater
Demerits:
- Shabby cabinets tables and chairs, just like scavenged from other people's garbage，
- No stable power supply,
- Bad Wifi
- Poor breakfast

the staff were brilliant. they helped with tour recommendations, packed lunches and laundry. Egg cooked for you individually at 7am? Wow. As a Hostal , the Schilling does far better than the hotels I stayed in, in BA and Cordoba. fully recommended!

Location, common area. The staff is very helpful. Also, can they can call taxi if you need transportation.

Loved the peacefulness of the hostel. Staff were ready to help out with any queries. It was nice to sit in the garden, or at a jigsaw or colouring book. Free tea and coffee in the afternoon. Lovely breakfast with fruit, eggs, bread, jam, humous, cereal. Great options for packed lunches including vegan.

Super hostel. The staff were really helpful, it felt like home and was so peaceful and quiet. I kept coming back here during my trip and everything was was super comfortable.

Excellent Hostel but would like to call an upmarket Bed and Breakfast as does not feel like a hostel. Serving an excellent buffet breakfast like being in an hotel. Provides an excellent lunch box take out for hiking or excursion trips. Not like other hostels where there can are a lot of young backpackers. Hostel Schilling would cater for all age groups and worth paying more for the extra comfort and service. Lots of books, puzzles & jigsaws.
The scrambled egg at breakfast had to be ordered and was not part of the buffet. When presented on a plate was a very small portion as if made with only one egg, A very small negative, I would just skip the scrambled egg at breakfast.

Great vibe in this hostal and lovely staff, knowledgeable to help you out with all excursions, Good breakfast options, Clean. Good rooms. Location is great, 5 minutes walking from the main strip. This is cool place, howver don't expect 5* luxuary. Ideal as budget hotel!
Wifi is slow and not very good. Also, they don't have any heating on, so it is kind of chilly. The hot water is working, but takes several minutes.

The staff is nice and very helpful. The location is nice.
Not hot shower during our stay, the water would not even come out of the shower if people were using the sink in the kitchen next to our room.
There is no ladder for the top bunk bed, no curtain nor light for each bed and they are very unstable. Not acceptable in 2023.
There was a window frame in our room's ceiling that we couldn't close resulting in being very cold during the night.
I would like to recommend this place but it is not up to nowadays standards.

Can't recommend enough, the staff were incredible, the hostel set up was cosy yet creative, the rooms were comfy, showers great and the breakfast was so good! Eggs every morning, houmous and fresh fruit. Also a very well equipped kitchen for travellers. Such a thoughtful hostel, thank you for everything!

The Hostel Schilling staff were wonderful, especially Sophie and Elaine. They answered our questions and helped us to plan activities. We enjoyed meeting the owner as well. The breakfast was fabulous and the room was very comfortable. The common areas and garden were beautiful and the guest kitchen was well stocked. I appreciated the laundry service.
The doors could have better lock mechanisms and a rug in the long, echoing hallway might prevent some of the late night and early morning noise of people slamming doors and trying to get them to lock properly.

Mar and soph were really helpful and gave me advice on trips when I arrived at a great price (much cheaper than I found online). I would def recommend staying here, it was only a 5 minute walk form the centre.
