We needed a central location for a family wedding and this house served that purpose. We loved the close proximity to downtown Huntsville events, eateries, shops, etc. the house was certainly large enough for our group (which was a party of 6). In terms of home amenities, this house had standard items for our stay and everything was in working order. Beds were comfortable and the A/C made the heat/mugginess of Alabama in May bearable. The home needs some TLC but was not horrible. I was a little disappointed that the outside screen porch was not clean. This is a nice feature of the house so we swept out the dirt/leaves and wiped down the outside furniture ourselves to be able to use it. If you’re looking for a basic home in the heart of downtown HSV historic district this house will meet that requirement.

Great location and large house big enough for 10+ people

This property has tremendous potential in location and size, but it needs quite a few improvements to make it a great stay. The fireplace is rusted out and unusable. The kitchen sink stunk. The family room sofas are super cheap and uncomfortable. The master bed has a plastic cover on the mattress that made it super hot to sleep on. Chipped paint and old wood stairs and gate could pass as historical, but would be much nicer if replaced or repaired.

The property manager communicated well and was responsive to issues. The house is large and had plenty of room for us and our pets, inside and outside. However the property was in overall disrepair. Most doors did not shut, if they did you were locked in the room. Paint was peeling off the walls, the carpets were filthy, there were cockroaches and there were a ridiculous number of flies the congregated outside the back door. If you are okay with the quirks with an older property this might be for you. Overall a great location in the heart of downtown.

The property sits in an old, quaint district of Huntsville, steeped in history. The street itself is a main road was plenty of car noise, which is not a big deal - but it is not quiet and should not be advertised as such. That said, the house appears to be the victim of time and lack of maintenance: - doors would stick closed and not open, often trapping children in bedrooms freaking out that the door will not open... - the doors knobs, on the bathroom doors, came off when closing the door - leaving the unlucky bathroom visitor faced with a task of repairing the door knob so that they can leave (that event repeated itself with the entire family everyday). - the driveway gate did not lock closed, so if you have a pet of any kind, having them outside by themselves was a roll of the dice. - the window in one of the guest rooms was broken and accessible to the street. - light bulbs burnt out in about three different rooms, which makes discovering this fact at night after arriving after dark and interest event. - the beds had a plastic mattress cover under them. while I get it and understand the rationale, the "executive retreat" I was thinking of did not include plastic mattress covers that made moving in bed sound like a ski slope. I did not even get into the fiasco to check in, complete with selfies with me and my ID as I am driving to the property - after already paying for the stay in full and confirming the dates in advance. I am not looking for perfection, Had this property been presented as a quaint old house in Huntsville that had its quirks, I probably would be more tolerant. However, I paid what I considered a higher than average nightly fee for something that lacked routine maintance and upkeep.

This house was very clean and spacious and served our family needs well. The beds were very comfortable! Overall we were very comfortable here.

We stayed a week and home was clean and comfortable. House had spacious kitchen to make meals and slept well too. Central location would allow walking to downtown and nearby art museum on cooler days. Thank you!
