The cabin is a nice two bedroom one bath. The knotty pine interior brings you back in time with the 50 style appliances. It’s got a great big, wraparound deck, barbecue, and Hamic to hang between two trees. It also has lights hanging between the trees that light up the yard, nice green grass to hang out in a private yard. Can’t wait to go back.

It is not as secluded as you might think from the pictures since the front yard ( with chairs on the porch ,picnic table and a horseshoe game area ) looks at owners’s cabin and a street and a parking lot . ( Although that didn’t bother us ) . We enjoyed the hammock the most in the outside space with large redwood trees .The cabin is old fashioned with old fashioned fridge and oven which were functional and added to the charm . Although an old cabin has its charms , unfortunately the house was equipped as economically as possible. Old metal bed frame in both rooms would creek and rock with every movement and mattress was uncomfortable. Kitchen is equipped with old peeling pans that I didn’t want to fry an egg in for my kids Also after paying $1300 for 3 nights stay it was disappointing that there was only a 1/2 sample bottle of Shampoo for 4 guests and we had to go shopping for TP and shower supplies . We did get an email few days prior to arrival that only a starter supply will be provided but we were on our road trip by then . Minimal expense like updating uncomfortable plastic chairs on the porch or buying few new pans or containers with lids for picnics, would really improve the experience so one would want to come back . All and all it was OK for 3 nights and is better than being in a hotel room . Management was quick to respond to a question. .

This was great for 2 couples! Everything was walking distance and we didn't move the cars all weekend. Van Sickle State Park less than a quarter mile away for hiking. Tucked away in a nice little shaded pine grove with very quaint amenities.

We had a great time. The process start to finish was simple and easy. The location is quite but right in the middle of SLT close to restaurants, gaming, shopping. Don’t really need a car after you get there.

We loved this rental- the location is unbeatable. It is small but has all you need for a Tahoe getaway. We loved the retro kitchen and appliances!

Excellent location and very clean. Cannot emphasize walkabilty and parking in South Lake. Note that couch is not a pullout. Retro appliances - which worked great - were a fun surprise.

Our experience with vrbo was excellent. The weather and road conditions, which obviously vrbo has no control over, were terrible but the property manager was very responsive and helpful under the conditions. The cabin itself was very basic but livable. It could have used two more table lamps in the living room and one in each bedroom. The lighting was not very good.

We stayed a snowy weekend in Jan, the cabin was warm and cozy. We were able to check in early which was much appreciated due to the ongoing snow. The space is small, especially the bedrooms, but very comfortable. Loved being able to walk to the local restaurants. Cute very functional retro kitchen. Had a enjoyable stay!

This like jewel is a slice of Heaven. It was perfect for our family of 4. It is very conveniently located. We walked to most places. The kids had a blast just playing in the yard. The owner was onsite and was very accommodating. We will be back for sure!

This was perfect for our small group because it’s in a great location and walking distance to most of the activities we were doing that weekend. The home itself definitely has a vintage/retro cabin feel, but that gives it some character. My only main complaint would be there was no shampoo in the shower and every VRBO/home accomodation I’ve stayed at, always supplies shampoo. Also the shower itself is pretty outdated and the shower head only has one pulsing setting.

The cabin was really cute and clean and in a great location. We walked to Heavenly to ski each day and walked to the village each night for dinner and casino. Very nice!

We stayed here to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday. We LOVED this little cabin. We loved the old fridge and kitchen! This little cabin was built in 1949 (if the guestbook is an indication) and it has survived the decades of selling off and building up. So although this little cottage is surrounded by bigger properties it feels like a little of old Tahoe. We loved that it was walking distance to everything we wanted to do but felt like we had our own space where we could have our pup. I would highly recommend this property for families or a couple of couples.

Reviewer Comments: This cute little retro cabin looks and feels like it's out in the woods, yet it is walking distance to the beach, shopping, and is fairly quiet. The couch was very comfy. The inside was clean. The cabin was warm (in July) bc The a/c was locked at 70. The outdoor gas grill and furniture were pretty filthy. The chairs needed to be wiped down before sitting. Also, the "maintenance cabin" is directly in front, so there were staff close to the cabin for two of our three days stay. It made the dog on edge which was kind of annoying as well. There was only one towel per guest which made going out on the lake tricky bc we didn't bring beach towels. It was pricey for what it was but I'm sure if location matters more than comfort, this is your cabin. One thing I didn't understand was why they decided to paint the base of the front porch during our stay. They didn't give me a heads up that might be happening or anything. It didn't take long, so I'm not sure why that couldn't have waited until we checked out the next day. Luckily my dog didn't go ballistic like he ordinarily would if men were close to the house... So I was more annoyed than upset. Just poor communication.

Great place for two people. Awesome location, very convenient to everything but very quiet. Only thing that needs to change is the appliances are very old and need to be updated. Adds to the “vintage “ feel of the place but just doesn’t work great. Super nice otherwise snd met the owners! Lovely people!

I felt uncomfortable sitting on the couch as it was not clean and I was l surprised this wasn’t written up in prior reviews. :(
