Vale was een heel gastvrije host die je graag helpt om van alles te regelen. Vanuit het hostel zijn er voor elke activiteit shuttles voorzien. Het ontbijt is prima en er is een ruime keuken waar je ook zelf eten kan bereiden en/of opslaan in de keuken. Wandelen naar het centrumpje van Santa Elena is een uitdaging. Daarentegen zit je wel lekker rustig buiten de toeristische drukte.

Peu de lieu pour s’asseoir à l’extérieur, un groupe de 5 personnes était présent à notre arrivé dans l’espace commun .. nous avons donc dû rester dans nos chambre car il n’avait nul part ou s’installer a l’extérieur

I especially liked the shared kitchen, really clean and well equipped. Also, the breakfast was delicious.

Just the lady serving breakfast was really grumpy but maybe it was a bad day…

De gezamenlijke ruimte is erg groot. Ook de kamer heeft een fijn formaat. Het ontbijt is goed en er is onbeperkt water, koffie en thee. Parkeren op het terrein is mogelijk. Vale heeft ons geholpen bij het reserveren van de activiteiten die we wilde doen. Geen vraag was te veel voor haar. Erg fijn!

De afstand tot het centrum is vrij intens om te lopen.

We had a mixed stay. The room and services looked good from the start. We had a warm welcome and there was coffee and tea which you could use the entire day. Breakfast and the service with it was good. Location needs a car and parking is a bit crowded with 4 or more cars, blocking eachother from leaving in the morning if you park in the front. WiFi was good.

The room itself did have some big spiders in the bathroom and cockroaches in the room. We had room number 2 which was next to the common room. Therefore very noisy in the early morning and late in the evening. The rules said quiet time between 22.00-7.00 but no one listened to that. We had contact with the staff who was understanding about the noise. She said that she would be there the second night to keep an eye on the situation. People checked in around 21.00 and later and used the common room with a lot of noise past 23:30. Even when people were in their room, you could hear them very well. Lots of dogs barking during the night as well. This made our stay unpleasant.

A bit distance from the village center, but ok if you have a car.

Staff are teenagers who are immature and hang around in the main area all day. We changed rooms 3 times during our 4 day stay. 1st room was leaking water through the roof. They put us (a couple) in a big double room family suite (weird choice). The next day we had to change again because a big family arrived. If you don´t have a car, you can´t do much, because too far from centre.

The place is very cute and the two/three person bedroom was tidy and clean. We felt very comfortable staying here. The breakfast was tasteful, choice between eggs with toast or pancakes. The host is really nice and helpfull. She sends you a guide with things to do around and places to eat. We tried two places and they were both very nice.

Das Zimmer und Bad war top, eines der schönsten auf unserer Reise. Küche super sauber, Frühstück sehr lecker. Die Besitzerin ist freundlich und sendet einem am Anfang eine PDF mit allen Infos und ist per WhatsApp immer zu erreichen Sie hat uns 2x kostenlos in die Stadt zu Restaurants gefahren, da es in der Nähe des Hostels nichts gibt (Taxi 2.000 in die Stadt)

Unsere eine Tour wurde erst von Vormittag auf Nachmittag verlegt und dann nachmittags wegen Regen abgesagt, das hat uns einen ganzen Tag gekostet und wir haben ihr vertraut (es regnet jeden Nachmittag in der Regenzeit) uns richtig zu beraten, sie hat dann auch nicht wirklich versucht uns danach weiterzuhelfen, wir sind abgereist um den Tag nicht zu verlieren (Sie hat uns ein Taxi besorgt) uns vergewissert dass wir die Fähre um 18 Uhr easy zu erwischen - was natürlich nicht geklappt hat, alles irgendwie unglücklich gelaufen (Geld für die nicht genutzte Nacht gab es natürlich nicht zurück aber wir sind ja auch freiwillig abgereist) Wir haben Wäsche waschen lassen und einiges ist leider kaputt gegangen Die Lage ist weit vom Stadtkern was aber nicht unbedingt tragisch ist Wasser war kalt

Todo precioso pero el restaurante donde, además se sirve el desayuno es idílico. Una vista al volcán increíble. Los pájaros llegan a los árboles que están a poco más de 1 metro y hacen una espectáculo a toda hora del día. Hemos recorrido muchos albergues y este es un acierto 10/10

Pesimas condiciones del alojamiento y mala atencion al cliente. Para nada las imagenes corresponden a la realidad. Tuvimos varios insectos dentro de la habitación de grandes dimensiones, nos ofrecieron un reembolso y después de cancelar nos lo negaron. Lleguemos al hotel por la tarde y fuimos a la habitación a dejar maletas y ducharnos para ir a Santa Elena. Al acabar de ducharnos, aparece una araña bastante grande en la habitación. Avisamos a la chica de recepción para que nos deje alguna cosa para sacarla, y tardó unos 5-10 minutos en llegar porque no tenía llave de la habitación de productos de limpieza y estuvo intentando abrir la puerta con un machete. En cuanto finalmente llegó, tuvimos que abrir sabanas y apartar la cama para poder buscar la araña ya que obviamente entre tanto se había escondido y efectivamente la araña estaba detrás de la cama. Salimos a tomar algo y en cuanto volvemos, sobre las 22-23, nada mas entrar por la puerta nos encontramos una cucaracha de las mismas dimensiones. En este caso no conseguimos sacarle foto ya que se escondió rapidamente por el zocalo de la habitación, es decir la cucaracha seguía ahí, y puede que hubiera más. Volvemos a avisar a la chica de recepción y nos dice que no puede hacer nada para solucionarlo. Ante esta situación, comprovemos que la habitación no era la misma que reservemos en booking, y la que nos dieron, tiene menos ventanas, menos luz, un baño mas pequeño y se veía en peores condiciones que la de las fotos del anuncio en booking. Preguntemos a la chica de recepción si tenían disponible la habitación que correspondía con las imagenes de la reserva y nos dijo que no. Nos ofrecieron una habitacion con cama individual, sin baño privado. Fuimos a verla, pero había telas de araña y arañas mas pequeñas en la pared y esquinas cerca de la cabeza de la cama. Entendemos que al estar en un parque natural pueden darse estas situaciones, pero nos transmitió una sensación de que no tenían para nada controlada.

Les instalacions molt netes, el llit és molt còmode també. Hi ha sempre que vulguis té i cafè, cuina i nevera per si vols preoarar-te alguna cosa. El personal també amable. Zona d’estar interior i exterior. Està una mica allunyat del centre però si vas amb cotxe no és problema. L’esmorzar correcte! Torrades amb ous remenats o pancackes amb fruita. Molt trnquil i agradable!

Enorm gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Frühstück war echt gut und konnte man ohne schlechtem Gewissen essen!

Frau an der Rezeption war zum Teil ein wenig verpeilt. Zimmer sehr kalt.

The owner is friendly and offered to take me to the city center with the car as the hostel is located outside of town.

-Room had no window or way to increase ventilation -bathroom was super unclean with pee on the toilette and a lot of flies in the shower -Spiders and insects everywhere -the outdoor common area was super small and seemed neglected -after asking if they’d be able to accommodate my dietary requirements for the included breakfast they said yes, but for the actual breakfast didn’t include anything I could eat and when asking the staff about if they could prepare something different they just said no (non vegan friendly) -most of the staff doesn’t speak any English except for the owner who wasn’t there most of the time -I checked out early due to all the reasons above and nobody followed up or really cared -Doesn’t look anything like the pictures, except for maybe the entrance

Friendly staff, helped us arrange busses to cloud/santa elena forest and night tours for very good prices. They can even arrange shuttle busses to other cities for better prices than bookaway. I recommend arranging these things with them when you arrive. Not via online services like bookaway. Breakfast was great and they had a cold water dispenser.

You have to climb up a steep hill if you want to eat in the town.

Very attentive staff making us breakfast earlier than the breakfast time slot to be able to go to the activities around Monteverde. Very nice and big kitchen to be able to cook your own meals.

There is only one toilet with shower to use between a few bedrooms. You had to plan your showers carefully to not take over the bathroom for too long.

We were given 2 bedrooms with 4 beds so had plenty of space (for 1 adult and 2 children). Staff were absolutely lovely. It was my son's birthday on the last day we were there and they bought a little chocolate cake and sang happy birthday to him over breakfast. They also took care of my washing which I had been struggling to get dry previously. Good kitchen area and coffee/tea/water in communal seating area. Kids playground at the end of the street.

Use Google Maps (rather than Waze) when arriving by car otherwise you will be directed along quite a long, unpaved road and the hotel signage won't be as visible. Parking in town looked quite difficult so we tended to walk in and leave our car at the hotel. It's a fairly steep uphill walk into town but doable.

Really comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious. Shared bathroom was lovely. Kitchen was very well equipped Staff were super friendly and helpful- they gave us a list of recommendations for trips and places to eat. One of the ladies provided free transport if she was available.

Bit of a walk up a steep hill to the town centre which we didn’t mind too much as we like to walk but something to look out for if you don’t like mild physical exertion.

The hostel was clean with a good kitchen you could use as well as a common area where you could eat and relax. The staff were very responsive to messages and the included breakfast was a lovely bonus.

The staff where friendly but not often at the property so you needed to message them if you had any problems, luckily they were very responsive to messages. I also feel the photo they use to advertise the hostel is a little confusing as the balcony shown in the photo is part of a private room and not a common area that everyone can use.
