Our three-generation family had a wonderful time staying in this home on North Captiva. Having our own private pool, we found ourselves jumping in several times a day. We played lots of ping-pong and games from the game closet. The meals we cooked in the well-equipped kitchen tasted great after our busy days. All in all, this was one of the best houses we’ve ever rented!

We really enjoyed our trip to NC, and the Birds and the Beach made it especially nice and comfortable. We were three families of four, with kids ranging from 12yo down to 6mo. The house easily accommodated us, with most of the kids able to bunk in the bunk room and a pack n play was available for the smallest. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed. There was an ample amount of beach and pool towels, and some sand and water toys were available as well. The rooftop deck had wonderful views, and the pool deck was a lovely place to relax and watch the kids swim. The golf carts make for easy travel around the island. Their on-island manager/concierge, Tortuga Properties, made the stay even simpler with excellent communication before and during the trip. They arranged to pick us up from the docks and bring all 12 of us + luggage to the home, as well as returned us upon check out. They were responsive throughout the entire stay via a text number when we had any questions at all. For a reasonable fee, they stocked our groceries and drinks in advance, which makes the logistics of getting to the island way easier given you're already coming with luggage. Would stay here again and recommend this property and Tortuga servives to family and friends.

Overall great family trip. Super relaxing island. Tortuga management does make things easy and I highly recommend using them for all your needs. There were some bumps in the road such as lack of comfortable beach chairs which were taken care of promptly. Water cut off once and they had it fixed within an hour. Prior occupants left pool a mess and again Tortuga came through with a fast clean up. Ordering food and drink through Tortuga was also seamless. Expensive but takes the hassle out of the trip. House accommodated our needs. Beautiful and quite island to simply relax and forget about anything and everything. As close to a remote Caribbean vacation you can find in the states.

Wonderful home, short walk to the beach and shopping area. Beaches are beautiful!!! Shop carefully for food and drink before you get there and save lots of money, bring on the ferry. Staff both on the ferry and on the island are great!!!

We were among the first renters of this recently purchased property and both the owners and the property management team were extremely responsive, helpful, and communicative. It was conveniently located within a short golf cart ride to restaurants and a short walk to the beach on a quiet street. Two golf carts provided gave us the freedom to do what we wanted and when without pre planning. Kitchen was well stocked although the oven, fridge, coffee maker and toaster were well loved but all in working order. Comfy beds with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. And having the pool on property was perfect for the kids. Beach chairs and toys included as well as a lot of outdoor and indoor games. The only items we would put on the future wish list before the next visit would be: foil, dish towels, coffee filters that match the coffee pot, enough paper towel, toilet paper and dish washer detergent for a group of seven staying a full week. We very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return.

We were lucky to be the first guests under new ownership for this property. The Birds and The Beach is a beautiful home that was just re-decorated by the new owners. Except for the first few days of cool weather, our entire stay was fantastic. Great time with great friends during a much needed escape from the pandemic. Such a relaxing time on a quiet, beautiful island. Every need was taken care of from the time we boarded the ferry at arrival until ferry departure, Duncan and his team at Tortuga properties were outstanding hosts. Our only regret is that we didnt stay another week. Thank you for sharing your outstanding home with us.
