Short walk to town and the beach, just have to walk in the grass a bit as road shoulder is narrow in some areas. House is set back from the road a bit, so no road noise issues (and low speed limit in any case). Nice fenced in yard that was great for our toddler. Clean and well furnished. Main living areas get a bit hot during peak of the afternoon but comfortable otherwise and bedroom a/c units kept bedrooms very cool for sleeping at night. Outdoor bathtub/shower was fun for our toddler. Lots of beach gear. Owners very responsive.

Our family loved our stay at Hanalei Getaway! This place is gorgeous and in a great spot! It was perfect for our three boys who could spread out. We walked and biked the five minutes to the beach and used the surf boards, sand toys, and all the other gear they provided! Everything was clean and well-taken care of! The outdoor showers were my personal favorite. Downtown Hanalei is a short walk from the house but it is along a busy road, however that never deterred us and it still felt safe with the shoulder on the road and sidewalks. Mike was super helpful and responsive, even later in the evening. The general location on island made it possible to explore all the hidden gems Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our little family!

We all really enjoyed staying at this house. the location was close to town and close to the beach. Both were walking distance. The house was well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen had all brand new pots and pans. The house comes with a ton of beach umbrellas, chairs, bikes, surf boards, boogie boards, kayaks and SUPs. I do suggest that if you come to this house, you rent a pick up truck so you can take the kayaks, SUPs etc to different places to use. The bedrooms all had A/C so that made sleeping at night comfortable. The host was great to work with. We did have an electrical problem while we there that the host got taken care of quickly. An added bonus is that there is a huge avocado tree on the property. We had fresh avocados every day.

A beautiful and unique place to stay, this Hanalei Getaway invited all of us to enjoy many sweet spots on the property and near it!
We were first greeted by a mature avocado tree (which continued to share its ripening fruit each day!), and an incredible fence made of surfboards and blossoming colorful plants. Inside this spacious home are fabulous places to gather, cook, hang out, and play games. There are multiple covered spaces outside that allow one to listen to rain and look for rainbows. We were all especially fond of the outdoor showers and bathtub.
We all so appreciated that there were bikes of all sizes to accommodate us, as well as a plethora of beach toys.

A perfect home nestled in Hanalei. Wonderful for a large group of 11. Equipped with everything you’d need, communication was simple and the home is charming as ever. The outside tub is, chef’s kiss. Thank you for everything.

This was our second time staying in this house, and it was even better than the first. We discovered the fleet of cruiser bikes in the back shed, and we all rode down to Hanalei Bay for sunset together. #DreamLife

The Hanalei getaway was a dream come true stay to enjoy our first trip to Hanalei Beach. The home’s inviting, warm, and artistic qualities were an integrative part of our enjoyable vacation. We thoroughly appreciated the availability of sports equipment, outdoor showers and tub, swing chair, cool surfboard fence, great location, clean spaces, well-stocked kitchen and “chill” vibe of the home - this all allowed for a comfortable stay. Our kids are clamoring to go back!

We booked this home for half our trip and never wanted to leave . It was amazing . We loved the location so much and feeling like we were right in the middle of the most amazing beaches, markets, hiking areas, and the culture here . We walked to the farmer’s market, self serve cheesecake, food trucks and so much more . We watched the sunset across the bay, snorkeled at tunnels beach, and hiked many locations . The home allowed us to gather for dinners and be together . We loved the decor and personal artistic touches. The outside shower is amazing! We were all fighting over it . We would love to come back and felt this was so much better than being in a resort! Thank you Leila and Michael.

We had a blast! The house is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed eating breakfast and evening snacks in the kitchen and dining area. We loved the bikes (enough for 8 of us and even more), the surfboards, and the snorkel gear. That’s a huge bonus not to have to rent or buy that stuff. We had so much fun at Hanalei Beach, Tunnels Beach, and kayaking the Hanalei River. I followed the owners’ recommendation of renting a truck. I’m glad we do. We would definitely stay here again.

We had the best time in this house. The house was beautiful and very clean. It was only 5 of us so we had tons of room. There was so much beach gear, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, and beach towels that we used. We didn't use the surf boards but there were so so many of them. Maybe next time. My girls went to a bike ride around time too! We were able to walk to the beach everyday and walked to sunset. Then walked to Pinks for ice cream before walking home every night. I can't wait to come back. I love Hanalei! We had the best time!!!

This house is really cool. Lovely decor, beautiful landscaping and views. The downstairs area is perfect for a young family or in our case some young adults. It is ridiculously well stocked for any beach adventure you could choose. The only downside is it wasn't quiet. The landscaping does such a great job making you feel like you are in your private oasis but you are very close to neighbors. Unfortunately nothing the owners can control.

The best part about this property was all the gear - bikes, paddle boards, chairs, etc. We used it all! The beach access is close and easy and we enjoyed using the sand volleyball courts that were set up.

This is our second trip to the area. The house was great and perfect size for a family of four. The owner was very nice and responsive. Clean house and lots to do. On a busy road so you can have to walk on the side of the highway to get to the beach, My bad for not asking the question in advance but worth noting. Overall terrific--very comfortable house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- can't beat this location, walking distance to beach and restaurants. More beach gear than you'll be able to use, each bedroom has an a/c so you can sleep comfortably. Our kids are begging to return.

Well stocked house in Hanalei, perfect for a family. House has small bedrooms, the 2nd upstairs is quite small, but the common areas are huge and great for gathering. Nice stocked kitchen. Easy access to the beach although it is a 5-10 minute walk, particularly with gear. Note that only 2 of the bedrooms have portable AC units and none in the common areas, the house can get quite warm in the late afternoon/evening if the windows and doors are not left open. Get used to waking up EARLY every day. Not particular to this house, but Kauai roosters crow most of the night but really get going at around 4:30am. Local dogs howl as a group every day starting at 5 or so. Everything revolves around early start, early to bed, the restaurants all close very early as well. Beautiful place to stay, would definitely stay again.

Wow, this house was PERFECT! My husband (!!!) and I booked this house for our wedding week and we had some of our close friends stay with us. This house was INCREDIBLE! We had friends and family come over for meals and games and it comfortably fit all 17 of us (and a baby) for group hang outs. The hosts were so responsive, the house was squeaky clean, and the view from the lanai was impeccable! Cannot recommend this place enough! The hosts even gave us some recommendations for photographers for our wedding. We used the surfboards, bikes, grill, and aaaaalll the snorkel gear — it was perfect :) Thank you Mike and Leila!!

This house is amazing location beautiful some very spacious and I want to add the host has a gift of hospitality every detail of the home has been thought through. This was a girls trip of 6 women all ages we felt safe and house came with everything we needed. We rode our bikes into town that’s .5 mile away. The entire group was impressed with the home the owner even left baby banana’s from her personal tree and left them on the kitchen table for us. Roosters are up early in this town but it’s a reminder not to sleep your vacation away. I highly recommend and I would definitely come back.

We had the perfect stay at Hanalei Bay here! When I had researched places, I wanted a place with views and close to everything. It definitely met that criteria plus it was charming, comfortable, private, spacious, and had everything you'd need for beach trips. We used the bikes, snorkeling gear, surf boards, beach towels, and beach chairs. It has an all around great Hawaiian vibe! Fun times!

The property has a great style and wonderful relaxed feel to it. There is plenty of room to stretch out for a family of five with three teens. The location is great and a special bonus was the gear! The house is stocked with bikes, surf boards, kayaks, beach gear...everything that you could wish for in Hanalei! Michael and Leila were wonderful hosts and were very responsive. The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect proximity to town & beach. Slightly off the beaten path & quiet, perfect for a relaxing family stay! The house is located behind a small art gallery, had some trouble finding it the first time. Views were gorgeous and we had great weather. We loved all the surfboards & bikes. Excellent trip! Would love to stay here again!

We loved our stay in Hanalei. The house was perfect for our needs. We loved the location. We rode the bikes to the beach and utilized the boogie boards, surfboards, snorkels and beach chairs. Some of that equipment could use updating or repair but it didn’t affect our adventures. Beds were comfortable and plenty of sleeping and seating for our group. We absolutely loved the outdoor showers for cleaning off when we returned from the beach. Thanks for a great stay!

Equipment, negated having to rent or purchase any beach gear or kayaks/surfboards. Fruit and avocado trees on the property were a pleasant surprise. Great communication from the hosts, easy to find and low key.

Beautiful house, beautiful location
This is a great house and the hosts were amazing. We were a group of twelve, right at capacity for the house. If you have a similarly sized group, communicate with the owners prior to your trip. You might benefit from a few extra dishes if you plan to cook. The owners were very accommodating with all of our needs.
The gear stash was great and allowed our group to try many activities.

Cute and comfortable house in Hanalei
We had a lovely stay in this Hanalei home. The owners were so easy to communicate with and made us feels very comfortable. We had a gorgeous view of the mountains from the porch and an easy walk to both Hanalei town and the closest beach access. Our week went by too quickly and we are already looking forward to returning some day.
