Extremely nice hotel, clean and beautiful, pool, beach, facilities all top notch, had a wonderful experience, can't wait to go back

The hotel lies just north of the busy touristy part of South Beach, which is great. Enjoyed the lush gardens and room decor. Room was clean and spacious. One elevator was out of service, which made for a long wait with our suitcases. Check out was a big disappointment. Check your bill, they will charge you for valet even if you arrived without car. This ‘mistake’ feels like a scam. Lady at reception made apologies but didn’t feel like she meant it.

The property is beautiful and the staff are hospitable in every area. The only complaint I have is the room was advertised as a partial ocean view, which I paid extra for, but what I got was a view of the hotel rooftops and palm trees from a window in the room (no balcony). If you focus on the leaves of the palm trees you can barely see some blue behind them in the distance, which I assume was ocean and not sky, but it certainly could not be remotely considered as a partial ocean view. When I complained to the service desk, I was told that I got what I ordered: "a partial ocean view". I guess their definition of "view" and mine are quite different. I actually expected to see the ocean! They did not offer any refund on the upgrade but when I asked for it, they said they would ask the manager and get back to me in a few days. I have not heard anything back. So be forewarned, do not pay extra for "a partial ocean view" because it's false advertising and provides no benefit. Also, be prepared for very expensive food. We ordered a simple lunch with two cocktails and it was over $130.00.

This was our 4th time staying at the Palms Hotel. We are locals from South Florida and the Palms has been our go to Miami hotel. We love this hotel for its green and tropical atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing tropical hotel, this is the place for you. My husband and I usually also book massages at Aveda, which is located at the hotel basement and looks beautiful. You can also go to their morning Yoga session located in their beautiful green garden. I gave the hotel 4 stars this time because I was not as thrilled with the food. I felt that the restaurant has gone down, food was not has good as before. We had dinner the first night and it was very disappointing. Especially that the restaurant there is quite pricey. We tried breakfast the next day to see if it would be better but it was not and the bill was overpriced. Besides that, everything was great and the staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Overall the hotel was quite good, service was exemplary but after returning to this hotel 11 years after our first visit, it felt tired and dated. Both visits 11 years apart the hotel had issues with their lifts, broken down making lifts slow and tiresome waiting on them. At one point we waited 10 mins for a lift due to higher floors filling them up and no space to get in. Food in the restaurant was nice but we found it very pricey for what you received.

Get the ocean view and you wont be disappointed. Really amazing hotel. Attentive, friendly, and right on the beach. Will be returning to this incredible place

Like the location as you can walk straight out to ocean. Boardwalk along the hotel is excellent! Clean place. Only few down sides... construction was happening during our stay at the resort. Which upgrades are always needed so thats ok. Colins ave was kinda dirty and pure construction. When you order food at pool or beach..you only say what your room #..which people abuse, so make sure you check your bill before checking out as people charged stuff to our room. Better if you had to use room key or some sort of id to which room you were actually in.

Overall a superb hotel. Rooms are large and spacious. Split shower/toilet concept was very practical. Some minor maintenance issues in the room but no big deal. Good location right on the beach. Pool area and beach operation run well. Michelle on the beach crew was very friendly and efficient. Overall, all hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed at this hotel August 14-18. I booked a King room with an ocean view. The bathroom is tiny. No space to place toiletries. The toilet is in a separate room and you have to turn the sink in the toilet on to be able to flush the toilet. I assume part of their “green living.” The shower was dirty with hair and mold in the corners. Then when checking out I noticed a charge on my bill from the bar and restaurant for $67.81. I did not eat or drink on the property. When asked what the charge was for they said McCallen 12. I have never ordered that. I asked to see a copy of the signed receipt which they were not able to provide me. I also asked for video footage of myself in the bar/restaurant ordering the beverage. They have not provided me of video footage either. Now I’ll go through the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company. The only positive about this hotel is their kind doorman. DO NOT BOOK HERE! You will get a small dirty bathroom with mold and they will steal your money by charging your card after you leave!

Beautiful property. The rooms are nice except for very small with tiny bathrooms. The service was great except for the concierge which didn’t have good options for excursions. The cruise excursion offered was not good. The beach is gorgeous and loved that the beach chairs are included with the hotel stay. No need to pay extra. The pool was okay, struggled with how cloudy the water was but understand it’s due to all the sand people carry back into it from the beach. Overall, would stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful inside the lobby area. The rooms were a bit small for 4 people. The beach is private and stunning. The hotel swimming pool was quite dirty, needs regular cleaning throughout the day. There isn’t much to do nearby so Uber is needed or a car.

The Palms is the place to stay in south beach! You have everything you need at the hotel, plus many restaurants, shops & activities within walking distance. Valet my car and never used it until departure. We were there for a week. Definitely get the cabana service on the beach! Spa was awesome , bars inside and out just amazing. Very friendly & courteous staff! You will not go wrong.
