It was nearly a five star hotel except the desk staff is very rude.

Reliving the history was fabulous! We truly enjoyed our stay!

It’s ok. Did not exceed my expectations.. the stuff is slow and looked somewhat lazy, it took them about 10 minutes to notice me at the reception while been totally available and not busy with other customers. Paid for the room with sea view and got an air conditioner box for a half of my window on the second floor, room #257. The food at the restaurant was great though but overpriced in my opinion. Didn’t feel homely enough and moved out to the different resort.

From the time I saw this "resort" I thought it would really be like a "resort" instead it gave more of a cruise vibe. The place is beautiful from the outside, some places inside were nice, but when we got off the elevator and saw those ugly walls that made me think of a cruise. Pure ugly!!! Made me dizzy! Then we get to our room and the pictures made it look like heaven...NOTTTTTTT!!! $1400 for 2 nights!!! Partial view of the ocean consisted of a partial view alright and a view of the roof under us...no microwave, no iron, very small room...not worth $524 a night. Pool wasn't that great either, swim up bar stayed closed due to the rain. Maybe I'm spoiled when it comes to resorts but this was not it. Was not happy and didn't enjoy it!

Have stayed at this hotel a half-dozen times over the years and always enjoy it. This 2-night stay on Labor Day weekend was no different. I like that it is located on the seawall, so you simply cross the street to go to the beach. The pool is simple, but nice. When we went to the pool during this stay (5pm on Saturday), there were no waiters taking orders/delivering drinks. So you had to walk to the pool bar for service. That was disappointing given it was a holiday weekend and still a few dozen patrons were in and around the pool area. Otherwise, we had no issues with this stay. The restaurant has good breakfast. The recent renovations looks great! Overall, it's a nice hotel and they price it accordingly (not cheap). I'll definitely stay here again in the future (but only for special occasions due to the price).

We couldn't figure out how the work the fancy shower. 2 calls to Guest Services to ask for help with this were answered but no help ever came. When checking in the staff made a great deal of the facilities available to us but made no mention of the $40 fee. This we did not realize until we got the bill. Most of these facilities we did not even use!!!!

Great stay at the new Grand Galvez. Been coming to this hotel for many years. The new gaudiness of the new version was a Turn off at first, now I’d have to say it’s a part of the charm. Just look at my photo! The room & bed was super comfortable. We will be back asap. Thanks.

Very nice property. However, there was an overwhelming fragrance being pumped through the entire building. My daughter is allergic/sensitive to many fragrances and this did irritate her skin and breathing.

I enjoyed the history of the Galvez and staying there is like now I am a part of its unique history. My fourth-floor room by the staircase at the end of the hallway was very small but nice and quiet, the only complaints I have is the water pressure was very weak, and the room refrigerator was so small that the only thing that would fit in it was a few soda cans.

This was our first time staying at Grand Galvez and it won’t be our last. The building has been renovated and is absolutely beautiful. You have no reason to leave the hotel as they have everything covered. Standards and class is of utmost importance. Food pool beach bar spa ! The room was so clean and roomy. We were very pleased. The pool has a swim up bar and people come around the take your food and drink order. Nice touch. Service at this hotel is phenomenal. Keep up the work Grand Galvez, we’ll be back for sure

It was very nice. The pool are was busy which was to be expected this time of year, but they didnt have enough chir for people which made it tough.

Absolutely love this place!! Perfect for any occasion and family friendly. Perfect for a relaxing day pool side and the pool side service was amazing. The food is phenomenal both pool side and in the restaurant.

Overall fun experience for a weekend girls trip but we did hit a few snags along the way. Parking near the hotel is virtually non-existent so $35/day for valet almost unavoidable yet they only had one poor valet running back and forth all day long making getting the car back take a bit longer than we would have liked. Good was great in the monarch but our wait staff both there and the poolside bar were less than friendly. Housekeeping was prompt and did an excellent job keeping our room looking lovely but unfortunately they did throw away some food we had on the desk (not near a garbage can) which made me a bit sad but overall the accommodations were lovely, the grounds very well kept and a short walk to the beach!

I stayed here to celebrate my 5 year wedding anniversary and it was an amazing experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very beautiful and fancy. The ocean view from my room was spectacular. Definitely coming back!

Flawlessly restored hotel built in 1911. Only negative is that standard rooms are small with no sitting area.

Got to the hotel and they only had one room for my reservation. They said they needed to find out what happened before they could give us the other room (not great customer service). Resort fees and valet was expensive. I don’t understand resort fees at this hotel. It’s a glamorous hotel but no resort amenities except a pool. No pool server service at pool either.

Beautiful hotel, amazing service at pool and complimentary chairs at beach. Great coffee stand in lobby. Good food at pool and drinks on beach. Comfy beds, spacious room.

The property itself is amazing but our stay didn’t quite live up to my expectations. You advertise a private beach with service as an amenity. Max 12 chairs for 400 guest on a first come, first serve basis is completely unexceptionable. Front deck staff not overly friendly and definitely need to work on valet process. For the price I expected better.

There was not a bell hop a available to take our luggage to our room, many services not available because they scheduled an event in the lobby, no towels at the pool and the pool closes at 7 pm??? What is that.worst stay ever at a grand hotel and they charged more than your quote by $100

The hotel has been nicely renovated but the quality of the staff interaction and customer care wasn’t consistent. The room was nice. The food was very average especially at the pool bar. We ate soggy wings and an overcooked burger. Definitely room to improve. Location was great in the seafront.
