Decent location. Quiet and very close to the ocean. Nice place to avoid the crowd and enjoy the views.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Fireside Inn. We were not able to get a room with an ocean view, but it was fine as we were right across the street from Moonstone Beach and the boardwalk above the beach. Honestly, we wouldn’t pay the extra money for the ocean view if we stay here again. We saw a great sunset one night, but the others were too foggy. That was okay too, as the beach and boardwalk were wonderful for enjoying the area and are both nice easy walking. We also enjoyed nearby Fiscalini Ranch - it was as an easy two mile hike out and back and has a great view of the ocean. Our favorite restaurant is Madeline’s French restaurant in downtown Cambria. The prices were not much more than the neighborhood eateries. We ate a lunch and a dinner there. We loved our room in the updated motel. It’s super cute- the fireplace heats the room quickly and adds a nice ambiance. The street the motel is on has lots of updated motels- and it’s fun to see how each of them have been restored. My only wish was that the motel had finished installing the drinking water purification system ( I’m guessing it will be done soon) and that they had a fire pit and chairs like many of the other motels on the street.

Super bummed we did not have a patio to sit outside and listen to the ocean.

The TV didn’t work initially but did get fixed. The toilet was not level. For a motor lodge, felt but was over priced.

Enjoyed my ocean front room. Was there to remember my late husband since it was his birthday weekend and he and I enjoyed Cambria visits

We loved the Inn! It was a perfect location and we loved walking on the beach in the morning and night! Close to adorable Cambria and Hearst Castle.

I hate it when outlets in the room don’t work and you have to make you coffee in the bathroom….and your phone doesn’t charge. It has the appearance of a new room, but things don’t work!

Excellent one night stay , close to restaurants. Great walking trail across the street Will definitely return!

Great location, but unfriendly front desk staff. No amenities. No A/C, and fireplace pilot burns constantly and heats and lights up room, so bring eye mask if light bothers your sleeping.

It was an amazing stay but I wish there was a firepit outside. I loved the little quaint street that this hotel, and many other similar inns, are on. There are several restaurants that are easy to walk or bike to. The views are great (though our window was a little fogged and hard to see out of our side view). We loved the easy access to the boardwalk and to moonstone beach for moonstone hunting. That was the entire reason we stayed there anyway! Loved the large room and fireplace. It was so cold outside that I ran the fireplace anytime we came inside.

The hotel room was decorated nice but there was a crazy sound of a machine all night. It was not worth the hype of almost $500

We had a great time at Fireside Inn. It is a quiet place, close to the beach and small town Cambria. The room was very clean upon our arrival. If you are staying for several days and need room cleaning, make sure you tell the front office the night before, or that service may not be available. Excellent place to explore and hike several other coastal trails or small towns. Hearst Castle is close by and worth a visit.

No frills hotel. The rooms with patio you are looking at cars in parking lot. Too cold to sit outside. Only one ice machine. The fridge did not work. The hotel is across the street from the beach. The beach is viewing only and no sitting or swiming.

This property is truly oceanfront. Sure and book an ocean view. There are a lot of hotels on this street but not many with the views offered at Fireside Inn. Sitting on our private patio was the best part. I did love how there were also shared areas to sit and watch the Ocean. We have ATT and we’re in SOS mode so no cellular. There is wifi. The fireplace was nice in the room but gave off zero heat. It is gas. Great food options within walking distance and the famous Moonstone Beach boardwalk is steps from your room. It was a great trip.

We had a very late check-in after 11 pm, however the staff was very considerate and welcoming even during late hours. The room was very clean and pleasant. Right next to the ocean!
