Rooms and staff were great. Location was fine. 4 and not 5 because the breakfast was a bit of a letdown.

Sheets were dirty . I just asked for replacements, which they gladly did. The continental breakfast was very limited. Basically, just carbs. Wish there could be more protein items.

The mattresses are old, you sink into the bottom. The bed linens were old and dingy. The towels were thin and not enough were placed in the room. The office closes early and opens late so there is no one to accommodate requests for extra linen. The furniture is chipped and the room smells of paint. Over priced rooms.

This was my first stay at this property but I’ve stayed in many others on Monterey. They were all $500-900 for the night. This one was much more reasonable and frankly, looks more modern than some. We really enjoyed it.

Very clean and large room

Booked room months in advance for a family vacation. The room looked nice, but the room air conditioner didn't work. It was 78* in the room in the afternoon and was still 77* by the time we went to sleep 7 hours later. All the staff did was give us a tiny portable fan and we had to open windows to try to cool down the room to be able to sleep.

The stay was comfortable. Just enough for what we needed. A place to rest while we went about the area to explore. Free breakfast was just pastries to-go. The AC was a little loud and towels smelled like chemicals.

Old and no attention to improvement. No bedspreads and wrinkled sheets. Reservation attendant nice but took some time to help check in.

Check in person was fantastic. Cute and spacious room with vaulted wood ceilings and a fireplace. There are many hotels/motels along the same street and this one is now by far our favorite.

Nicer than my 300/night Hampton inn stay.... certainly cleaner

The Munras Inn is my go to for affordable and comfortable lodging on the Monterey Peninsula. Comfy beds, fireplace, good folks at the front desk and an excellent location.

It wasn’t far from Canary row and downtown Monterey but had no pool and the continental breakfast was muffins.

Enjoyed our stay here. Small property but the room was spacious. Staff was very nice. Could use upgrade on bedding and towels.

It was nice and quiet. The beds were kind of squeaky, however it was comfortable and clean.

Nice place. Clean, friendly reception, close walk to downtown.

Nice motel-style property just out of town and near modern shopping

We loved the comfort and beauty of the room...we love retro motels redone, and this was a perfect example. So spacious! Appreciated breakfast, and the location cannot be beat for exploring the wonders of everything Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Proverbs 11:25 and great appreciation to all!

Excellent place to base visit from. Walkable to downtown and piers. Safe to walk home in dark. Room clean, neat and functionable. Pop machine did not work and outdoor seating needs cushions.

1) Both of the two beds in the room were obviously too old and were VERY soft, and caused back pain for both of us! They definitely need to replace these beds! It made it hard to sleep, which is the main reason you rent a hotel room! For this reason, I would not return to this hotel. 2) No elevator on property made it a pain to take suitcases up and down. 3) A "service fee" of $10 was added, but for no particular service or amenities. It's nothing more than a junk fee, just a way for them to make more money, after getting you interested showing a lower pre-fee/pre-tax room rate. There is absolutely no excuse for this fee! 4) I was surprised to be told at check-in that there would be a $100 hold put on my credit card, to be refunded at check out! I've never experienced this before. Not being part of a rock group, or a young party person (we're two senior women travelers), I can't believe that this is warranted for fear of our damaging the room. 5) The "deluxe" room we had was nice, clean and felt spacious, especially because of the high vaulted ceiling. But the terribly soft beds and the lack of elevator took away from the room. 6) The manager, who we met during the continental breakfast the next day, was very nice. We had a pleasant conversation with him. The man at check-in was also nice and polite. 7) The breakfast is an ok continental breakfast, with a few cereals, milk, packaged oatmeal and drinks. It's not lavish, but was good enough.

Nice Area And Quiet Place. The Parking Was Awesome And The Staff Were Amazing! They Also Have Easy and Fast Check In/Out.

Big room. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Central location. Ample parking space. Daily room cleaning (PROS) Towels need to be replaced by management, most are worn out. Breakfast so so (CONS)

The property is good and clean! the front desk service is good. the property is convenient to beach, But the Continental breakfast is NOT good!!

This was a quick one night trip. The room was clean, spacious and decorated nicely. We stayed upstairs in a king room with a fireplace. The bed was comfortable and shower was nice and had great water pressure which is a huge bonus in my book! There was plenty of parking and it was quiet. I like that you could actually open the windows which is not the case in many hotels. Overall a great choice if you want to spend a little less and are ok staying off the main canary row area. It’s still in a location that you can walk or bike from.

Friendly staff, clean room, easy parking access, quiet.

This hotel is not customer friendly. I had an emergency and ended up in the hospital the day of my stay. The third party I went through assured me I would get a refund. The hotel staff refused. Book with a large chain hotel that is more flexible with policy's and more focused on customer service in times of need.

Room has nice ammenities

Nice room along a main route. Breakfast was cereal, pastries and fruit. Pretty minimal. No dining area.

It was very quiet at night.
