The water in the pool was cloudy.

We had an excellent stay! The property and building was clean, and the room was very comfortable and clean as well. We appreciated the pet friendly policy and balcony for fresh air! Plus, the views of the lake were a nice surprise.

Pretty clean and maintained for the age of the property . Staff was helpful . We changed one of our rooms last minute without any issues . Ideal location for the boat to the island. Overnight stay was worth it.

Close to ferry landing, walkable to town, staff great. We did not use the breakfast or pool. Last guests left a very dirty carpet that wasn’t noticed by house keeping.

It was a little above the average motel options on our Michigan road trip and pet friendly, our suite was surprisingly large with a sitting room and separate bedroom. When we checked in they really did not tell us anything about the property or amenities.

Great location. Within walking distance to ferry. Great room that slept 6 adults with a small fridge and microwave. Nice pool and hot tub. Decent free breakfast.

Nice little hotel in the U.P. A bit dated, but no more so than most hotels in the area. Staff was exceptional with a ton of information about the area, and great recommendations. Directly across the street from the Shepler Ferry, so super convenient if you’re planning to visit Mackinac Island. My only negative was that the breakfast was all prepackaged foods with a very limited variety.

We rented the 2 bedroom suite and it was bigger than I expected and fit 6 people perfectly. I will stay here again.

The coffee makers and the coffee machines in room and at the breakfast room made weak poor quality coffee. The pool was over chlorinated and caused burning and itching when in the water. The staff was great and the beds were comfortable.

We will be back. Everything was excellent.

Ideally located if visiting St. Ignace area. Pet friendly which was why we booked but beware of high pet fees - could’ve rented the room for additional night in what we paid to have our two dogs stay with us. Our room was not clean on arrival but it was after 6:00 pm and aware nothing would be changed by contacting the front desk as they were fully booked and housekeeping was not available. Wrappers on the floor, chips under the luggage rack in the closet, & empty Coke can behind a dresser. A message was sent to the manager via Expedia but I never received a response. Additionally, they do not turn over your room “due to COVID” unless you call before 10 am and request it. As a traveling healthcare worker, this just doesn’t happen anymore. On our 2nd day a housekeeper entered our room after knocking twice but w/o announcing themselves. We weren’t able to get to the door before he just walked in. He apologized then left. As I made my way towards the door to lock it, I heard him say “they haven’t left the room yet”. Curious as to what was going on, I went to the hall to ask why the comment was made because we had booked a 3 night stay and had only stayed 2. Apparently we were supposed to be told at check in that our room was adjoining and someone else had “requested” that room. We were able to “keep” the room after they contacted the other party. I read many other great reviews however, my family’s experience was less than ideal.

Our stay was very good. Our room was very clean. Employees at front desk were very friendly. My only concern was that their was a sand trail up the steps and down the hallway. For 3 day's! I even mentioned it to the lady cleaning the room. And she even had the sweeper with her. She just left it. Ugh. We didn't have anyone clean our room while we were their.

Good sized room for a family

Carpet could’ve been better. It has a smell of some sort of an animal urine not sure if it’s a dog or a cat. Breakfast is a ok, but variety of breakfast everyday would be great. It is a pet friendly hotel, but they should have a bark park for dogs and a shower station for both dogs and cats. Other than that service is good staff is helpful and nice. Place pretty decent and quiet. The location is awesome.

Hallway is hot and smells

This property is conveniently located close to the dock for Sheppler's Ferry to Mackinac Island. Was greeted very warmly at the desk upon arrival. Room was as advertised, a bit small, but makes the best of the space. Room furnishings and layout are of good quality. Love having a front and rear door in the room. King size bed was very comfortable and linens and pillows of a good quality. Shower head was GREAT! Towels could be of a bit higher quality. Breakfast was in my opinion on the very low end of what hotels offer. View of Lake Huron from our room was nice too. Checkout was a breeze.

The place is clean. They serve hot/continenal breakfast with waffle maker, bagels, bioled eggs, juices, and small packages of nutella. There is a pool and a hot tub. They do provide extra towels in the pool area. The location is very convenient. It is in walking distance to the ferry station and some local restaurants. We were also able to just cross the street to watch the 4th July fireworks! The only thing we wished we could have was someone to clean our room from time to time. We stayed for a week with our 4-yo and eventually had to ask for toilet papers and towels.

The staff went up and beyond with their guidance and assistance. So friendly and willing to make our stay so complete. We were able to park our vehicle the entire day while we had our adventure at Mackinac island and we had not even checked into our room yet. The room was comfy and had a mice deck.

The location is PERFECT! It’s an older facility but the staff were fantastic! They told us where to go for the best fireworks viewing and they were right on target! Had a wonderful time and would stay there again!👍

The worst "hotel" I've ever stayed at. I chose this "hotel" because of its high reviews, but now I don't know why anyone wrote any of them. I booked a two-bedroom room. It turned out that it was half basement, without windows in one room and one small window in the other. Also, the room was dirty and stinky, like the whole "hotel." The administrator changed our two-bedroom room for two singles. When I asked about the additional cost for that, she answered, "No, we'll even give you a refund." Despite that, they charged me twice for the rooms. Additionally, the included breakfast was terrible, with only bagels and corn flakes. Nothing hot.

We did not have a lake view and I was so disappointed. We were in 116 way off to the side and a huge bush blocked any possible view. Id like a refund!

This place exceeded my expectations. I didn’t think that this hotel chain would be particularly nice, but it was great. The staff members were extremely friendly, the pool was nice, good breakfast, clean room, and clean common areas. Quick walk to Shepler’s Ferry Service to get over to Mackinac Island. Walking distance to a small beach where we saw a great fireworks display for the 4th of July. We could have watched the fireworks from our hotel balcony if we wanted to stay in, and it still would have been nice (we just thought that the beach was more fun).

Gorgeous room and amazing staff made for an excellent stay here!

I am very happy with my stay at the Budget Host Inn for 2 nights, the rooms are very nice and roomy, location is very convenient, staff are friendly overall i would definitely stay here again..
