Someone got into my room and tried to steal when I was out for dinner. My luggage and suitcase were flipped over. When talked to the manager, they said the camera wasn’t working in my floor so they could not do anything about it. Asked if they can call the police to investigate, they said because you didn’t lose anything important the police would not be able to help …..what a customer service!!!??? Don’t ever stay in this hotel, they ruined Marriott’s brand. As a Titanium platinum member, I am extremely disappointed.

Our stay was amazing thanks to the talented and friendly staff members of the hotel. We were treated with great professionalism and warm hospitality. Ellen Wang the front desk clerk is so helpful. She went out of her way to help us to have a room with the view that we are looking for. We are very grateful. We had a room with amazing view showing off China’s economic miracles. The room is spacious with all the comforts. The location is superb. We walked everywhere to the places we want to see. I will only stay at this hotel if visiting Shanghai again in the future. Highly recommended!

Bathroom door would not close properly and was cracked at the bottom. The shower door was also not sealed properly and the ground would get wet. Otherwise it was a great hotel and the staff was very helpful.

Most impressive area... staff service... my son lost his computer at the airport. The welcome desk officer went the extra mile to call the airport in order to start a chain of call that finally managed to get us back the computer.
The buffet breakfast is excellent.
The only drawbacks are
1. Staff can do better with more English because although i do speak mandarin, the level of mandarin in china is very high.
2 there was a damp smell when we entered the room. Could do with some air freshener.

Everything is good for this hotel.
However, there is no air conditioning for the room in the winter time, according to the staff. I need to turn off the air con, and open the door to avoid too hot in the room.
Please take this into consideration if you stay in winter time.

Convinient hotel, right next to metro station good transport options. But the overall condition of the hotel was a little worn out. Still, if the price is good it is worthed.

Great service, lovely room, nice swimming pool. Breakfast was good. The hotel itself is close to Yuyuan and the metro.

Food at the hotel's breakfast buffet was not hot. It looks like management made the decision to bring in food from a kitchen outside of the hotel (to avoid having their own kitchen in the hotel making breakfast). Also, none of the food was covered by a lid to keep the food warm. So the food cooled rapidly. Most of the breakfast food was barely warm and borderline cold by the time it was served to customers. Skip the breakfast if you want want hot food that is cooked on-site. And the location was just ok. It is close to the Yu Garden so that is nice. But there is pretty much nothing else in the area. Once you visit the Yu Garden, there is no reason to stay at this hotel.
