The help desk was extremely helpful. I had trouble with the previous booking (the hostel was closed down) yet hotels.com still allowed the booking to happen. The reception helped me find the relevant telephone to contact. Will definitely recommend staying here again!

People working at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean enough. The cleanliness of the kitchen in the shared room could be improved, but it was not bad at all. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Super nice staff, generally close to the main train station (15 min walk if you know where you're going). Small rooms but certainly enough area to get by as a couple.

Good reception

The local area is dodgy and feels very unsafe.Its not close to anything, and is at least an hour from anything, with an almost 1km walk to the train station. The staff only just speak English, using a translator most of the time. Oh and they have a nice scam where they charge you 5 Y for a towel, if you leave in the bathroom they’ll take it and try to charge you more money for a new one. The rooms are small, they’ve crammed 4 beds into a space that is suitable for only 2 beds, so there was no room for luggage. I would not recommed staying here at all. Everything advertised on the site was utter lies. The beds are hard as a rock and the pillow wasn’t really a pillow- just a piece of foam. Very uncomfortable place to stay in a very unsafe area. The electricity turns off without the key in the door. I would not recommend staying here at all.

The hotel is in good proximity to shanghai railway station and Joy city (large shopping center). The hotel had a hostel vibe as some guests tend to hang out in the living area on laptops or at night having a few beers, however it was not loud or like a party going on. One night someone had a loud conversation on the phone outside my door at 2AM, thankfully after asking them to keep it down they moved on. Overall I would stay at this hotel again for the value and friendliness of the staff.

The room was small but had everything we needed. Its a bit far from the station but the toss up with the price makes it worth it. Plus its nice to have a walk and see the real Shanghai on the way too. The staff were all really nice and they had free water, fridge and a microwave so you can cook your own meals too. Overall excellent value.

it suited my budget and was fairly close to the metro system. my room was very quiet as no windows. bedroom was comfortable and clean

Hotel is not locate at google map points!!!! In google map point at Government buildings that make me lost time to find this hotel 3 hours! And my plan have change in everything Because this hotel is not locate at People square station its at shanghai rallway station and walk around 10-15 minutes to hotel that not comfortable to me! May be hotel can consider on the Lift or other matter to help guests on Big Luggage to move to the 2nd level rooms stay.

This was a very nice hotel for the money. The staff was nice. The location was nice. Everything that I could have expected, and a little more. Thank you Meego Yes....

The only thing that I liked was the price and the fact that there is a kitchen where you can cook something. The bed things were: - the single room where I stayed I couldn’t even open my small luggage, there isn’t space even to walk in the room - the hostel smells like sewer - there is no lift at all - the location is 20 min from Peoples Square and not 8 min by foot as they say.

Smelly in washroom. Have to take luggage to 2nd floor without lift.

Perfect for the price and location. Simple, and clean, there is a terrace and also a communal eating area although I didn’t go Inside. No elevator so that is something to consider if that is an issue.

Room was really small. Bathroom looked nice but smelled terribly. Beds are a bit hard but it was ok.
