Great staff who were very attentive and provided invaluable advice on what to do in Kandy. Room a very good size. Wifi decent Breakfast portion very generous, perhaps overly so as we struggled to finish it which felt wasteful

No soundproofing, although outside of city centre room very loud from 5am onwards. Noise from a tanoy somewhere especially prominent, I'd guess it was coming from the train station. Lots of bugs in the shower tray each day, easy enough to clear by running the water but not very pleasant all the same. Had better value stays in Sri Lanka

My mother and I had a really good time at this place. Really quiet a really good place to rest. The room is big and the bed really comfortable. The staff take good care of you with a delicious breakfast and organise everything for your to get around Kandy if you need. I highly recommend this place!

Die gepflegte Hotelanlage liegt erhöht über Kandy, wodurch man von den Zimmern und vom schönen kleinen Garten einen atemberaubenden Blick über Kandy hat, ohne im Grossstadt-Trubel zu sein! Von der City bis zum Hotel sind es c 10min mit dem TukTuk, ich würde nicht empfehlen zu laufen, da es doch recht steil nach oben geht. Die Zimmer sind riesig, das Badezimmer funktional und ordentlich ausgestattet. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und organisiert einem TukTuk für die Stadt und zurück. Insbesondere hervorheben möchte ich Rathnasiri, der mich sowohl ins Restaurant gefahren hat, als auch am nächsten Tag nach Sigiriya. Das besondere an Rathnasiri, er ist nicht nur authentisch freundlich, sondern auch sehr engagiert, auf dem Weg liegende Sehenswürdigkeiten vorzuschlagen, anzufahren und auf mich zu warten, und all das ohne aufdringlich zu sein! Ich hatte zahlreiche TukTuk-Fahrten in Sri Lanka, aber in diesem TukTuk mit Rathnasiri habe ich mich absolut wohl und als Gast gut aufgehoben gefühlt, ohne das Gefühl zu haben , als Tourist nur eine Ware zu sein.

De locatie was lekker rustig. Comfortabel bed and fijne douche.

Het ontbijt was ronduit karig: taaie oude toast met alleen jam en een eitje. Een stel naast ons kreeg een uitgebreid ontbijt, wat blijkbaar tegen betaling was maar niet aan ons was voorgesteld.

The views alone were a reason to stay. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast. Was perfect for our night in Kandy.

It’s not walkable into town so a tuk tuk is needed to get back however the views from being high up the mountain make it worth it.

Loc Location is ok. The entry road to go the property is very steep and narrow. Very difficult to travel without a vehicle. Major issue we faced is privacy issues. They have a very very narrow balcony with every rooms which are interconnected. The guest are allowed to use that as a passage to reach their hall and main gate so if one takes a Mountain View then pls be ready to be a loser as with people moving around in the balcony one cannot enjoy their private space and the Mountain View. We had to put the curtains all through. We have given this feedback to the care taker. Guest should use common passage and not balcony passage which disturbs other guests. Very pissed of with this as it was our anniversary trip and instead of having a relaxed holiday we ended up having an experience which is not so pleasant. Hospitality, location, service and food. Needless to say it is what it shows in the pictures. We had booked a small double room, but they upgraded to us as there was another bigger room. Greeted with a welcome drink, and nice conversation. Worth it over all. Let them know if you have a food preferences.

Our stay here was truly magical because you get to enjoy the most beautiful views of kandy without being right in the busy centre. It’s high up on the hill, so definitely a tuk tuk drive to and from. However we always enjoyed a walk down the hill into the city. The breakfast was the best we’ve experienced in Sri Lanka, with a good mix of both Western and Sri Lankan dishes freshly made. The hospitality you’ll experience truly feels like 5 star service. The Buena Vista is a beautifully built villa and our room was very comfortable, AC was powerful. Would highly recommended staying here for a piece of tranquility in the busy city of Kandy.

Very nice view! Nice to stay at this calm resort while seeing the busy town of Kandy in the distance. The host was incredibly nice and gave us good information. He also arranged the pickup from the station. The breakfast was really nice too. Would definately stay there again!

I absolutely loved the breathtaking view of the Temple of the Tooth, the serene and zen atmosphere. The food offerings and service were fantastic as well.

Very nice host, very good breakfast. They cooked us a Sri Lanka traditional food for dinner - a lot of food and it was delicious. Host arranged us very kind, reliable tuk-tuk driver. I recommend!

Everything. The location and views were outstanding. The bungalow is beautifully designed,furnished and maintained .Mr Punvesh took excellent care of us- made arrangements for a lovely dinner although we arrived late. Really wished we could have spent a couple of days more just relaxing on the balcony with trees all around and panaromic view of Kandy in front. Extremely reasonable rates for such an accommodation and service.

The level of service, attention to detail, and overall hospitality provided by the staff truly made my visit a memorable one. From the time we stepped into the hotel, we were warmly greeted. The room we stayed was impeccably clean and to mention, we loved the view from the room which is the main reason for us to choose this place. Throughout my time at the villa, we noticed that a great care had been taken to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. I must also mention the outstanding dining experience we had. It was the best breakfast we could ask for. Also, we hardly went out of the place, as it was such a peaceful place to stay put. I will not hesitate to recommend Buena Vista to friends and travelers who are seeking a remarkable stay experience in Kandy. I look forward to returning to Buena Vista again.

View was good

Property is not at all maintained by the owner. Full of mosquito and ants. We even found a snake in the WC of the toilet. When asked the staff said it is not venomous. Food is extremely costly, per head 2500/- LKR for dinner, even for small kids.

We like to receive a welcome fresh juice. The building from the architect Geoffrey Bawa is very beautiful with a tasteful decoration. Spacious bedrooms and good mattress.
