Friendly, cosy with character. Attention to detail with decor. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, we will return again. Fully recommended. We were using a gift token for the wine tasting in the village thus the reason for the stop over due to the location. Hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. Look forward to visiting again when we have more time to explore the area.

Brilliant place to stay. Very friendly staff. Great book of walks around the area too. Would go back in a heartbeat. Lovely breakfast too.

An utterly exquisite stay at the Pickled pheasant! Incredible attention and consideration has gone into cultivating an entirely wonderful staying experience. The food is divine, the service is wonderful, and the rooms are just superb. We stayed in “Goose” with our dogs and they were incredibly comfortable!

Comfortable, well furnished and spotlessly clean rooms. Owner and staff super friendly and helpful. Bar/restaurant food very good. Weather was particularly cold during our visit but the Pickled Pheasant was warm and cozy😀

Fantastic hotel. The host, and all the staff, were friendly and welcoming. Our room (the Peacock Suite) was immaculately clean, with thoughtful decor throughout. Both the bar area, and restaurant are dog friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel for walkers too, as there are lots of good walks locally.

Stayed one night and had evening meal and breakfast. Will definitely return, food was tasty and good value for money. The room are decorated to a high standard, comfy, quiet and clean. Breakfast was superb.

The experience was amazing from the start, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The drinks and food were gorgeous and the hotel room was better than what we expected. The attention to detail made our stay even better.

Lovely stay at quaint village pub. Friendly staff, excellent food, lovely rooms. All really clean and looks brand new. Stunning location, great to sit out in the beer garden to enjoy the sun. Will definitely be back

The peacock room was beautiful and we were so impressed with the care and attention to detail when the room was decorated and furnished. We got a great night's sleep. Lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. Food was great too and the breakfast was delicious, kept us full for the whole day!

This property was spotlessly clean, beautifully styled and the owner and staff were very efficient and accommodating. Would love to stay again .

Nicholas the landlord was very friendly and helpful, very proud of his pub and so he should be. Recently refurbished to a very high standard a mixture of the old and new. Staff, service, food and accommodation excellent. Perfectly situated for walking, several walks starting from the pub door, from easy to the hard walks up onto the moors and part of the Pennine Way.

Very smart room with lovely bathroom. Fantastic welcome biscuits with tea/coffee. A full cooked breakfast was included. We also enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch in the restaurant.

We stayed for a Birthday treat and met family for a meal. The hotel and food was exceptional, all staff was friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Everything was just perfect.

What a fantastic stay, can’t recommend highly enough. We stayed in the grouse room which was really comfortable and finished to a very high standard. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Staff were incredibly attentive and courteous

This was booked for a night away for a 50th birthday, but on arrival we found they had not read the special request added during booking, and then we were told the restaurant was also closed on Mondays.
Looking at the images provided is all you can go on, but the one with the church spire is all well and good, but if you lower the camera by a few degress its actually a graveyard.
The staff were friendly but this isnt a £165 per night place, id of been happy paying no more than £80 max

The room was great. Comfortable, clean, plenty of tea/coffee, bottled water, brownies, great shower and bathroom. The breakfast was very well cooked and plenty of choice. All the staff there were helpful and friendly. We would def stay there again.

Pickled Pheasant is lovely building outside and inside. Our bedroom was beautiful, large and very new, the bathroom with a large shower and all utilities great! The breakfast was very good and large! The dinner had different menus also good. The staff were very friendly- we will stay there again!

Beautiful property in beautiful location. Impressive menu offering several unusual dishes along with the pub classics. Room was very comfortable and well appointed and even provided bedding and feeding bowls for a dog. Would definitely recommend

Absolutely superb stay this weekend! Lovely warm welcome on arrival- all staff so helpful and could not do enough! The place is stunning, beautifully decorated and breakfast was excellent! We shall return- great location and excellent value for money. Everywhere was spotless. The young staff especially had been well trained, polite, all well turned out and engaging with customers. A sheer pleasure to stay. Would not hesitate in going back or recommending. It all just made our weekend! Thankyou
