Good and consistent, restaurant is quite slow but other than that all good

Hotel was nice, only issue being the room temperature, it was so hot and you although we changed the temperature setting to the lowest, it didn’t make much difference. You couldn’t open any of the windows, so it also felt stuffy.

I have no negative comment about the Mercure. The hotel is in a great condition, the restaurant for breakfast and dinner had very tasty food and the gym, though small is well equipped.

Absolutely fantastic stay we were in Cardiff for a night. Room and hotel is new so everything was of very high standards, cleans and very modern. The standout were definitely the staff at reception who went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. Thank you for a great experience and stay.

Excellent hotel in the beating heart of Newport.

The hotel is in a prime location with numerous shops, restaurants and bars within close proximity. Our classic room was a nice size, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Good stay generally but uncomfortable bed due to two twins put together!

We had a great stay 2 adults and 2 children. I had called a few days before to request a cot for our toddler and this was in the room. The room was a great size for a family and had a partition so we could still have the TV on when the kids went to bed unlike in most hotel rooms where we have to sit in pitch black until they go to sleep! Bathroom was also a great size. Very modern and no issues with noise. We were on the 9th floor and had lovely views. We paid to include breakfast plenty of choice however the bacon and sausage could have been better quality. Hot and cold options there was something for everyone however as a mercure I would expect higher standard of food. However I would definitely stay here again

Very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel has been completely refurbished and all in great condition despite the outward appearance.

Great stay. Staff are very hospitable and friendly and always willing to help with any requests. Decent breakfast, which you can pre book each day for £10, or £15 on the day. Room was clean, good TV service and bathroom facilities. Hotel isn’t located too far from Newport city centre areas. All in all a great stay

Waited about 10 mins to check in, lady was busy with another customer and a guy was on the laptop. He could’ve just stopped what he was doing for 10 mins and check me, my husband and his daughter in. I booked for two rooms thinking that we would be next to eachother and we wasn’t, one room was on 13th floor and the other room was on the 14th floor. Completely unacceptable for the amount I paid, I wouldn’t expect this from this sort of hotel. Mine and my husbands room had glitter/sequins over the floor and when I went to scrap them up off the floor I also got clumps of dark coloured hair, so he went downstairs and asked someone to vacuum our room, didn’t have enough towels for us two, only had one bath sheet, one hand towel and a foot mat. So he had to go back downstairs to get another towel for himself. After driving 8hours to get to the hotel for the Billy Joel concert this is the last thing we wanted.

Very good hotel - clean and comfortable

Mercure is a Nice clean hotel. Expedia organised this at short notice as the Silurian hotel we had booked via them had gone bust. We only found out by accident the day before. In my opinion Expedia failed in their duty of care to me the customer in respect of failing to inform me the hotel I’d previously booked was no longer available. It had in fact gone bust at least 6 weeks before we were due to stay. To be totally fair the Silurian Hotel is still coming up on other booking sites so there is clearly a systemic failure here. In other words their systems are broken.

From check in to check out i can not fault this place Sally who checked me in was very helpfull i will definitely recommend this lovely hotel to friends and family

Loved this hotel, the staff had made extra effort welcoming guests who were travelling for Billy Joel concert, provided printed maps travel directions to train station. We were very fortunate to have been upgraded which cheered us up after quite a challenging journey. Room was superb with a lovely large bathroom, rainfall shower and nice toiletries and complimentary water in the fridge. Really enjoyed the roof top bar, would recommend and return as very convenient for Cardiff

Brilliant stay for a couple of nights for a concert in Cardiff. Slight problem in first room but we were quickly relocated. Excellent customer service, lovely and quiet in rooms. Hotel offered support for customers who were concerned about riots took.

I travelled with my son with ASD who struggle with different environments. We were accomodated accordingly to my son's needs. The staff was very helpful whit any requests and slways willing to help.

Good position, comfortable room, helpful staff. A couple of minuses - the toilet paper holder in our roon was broken and there was no water in the room / mini bar

Good size room comfy bed and bedding. Iron and board in room already with tea making facilities, a biscuit would have been a good addition, windows didn’t open and air on slow to work Our shower gel was empty but we already packed our own, Bathroom clean and up to date, bedroom walls grubby

Manager not so nice, but all staff other staff members were amazing.
